Morton's The Steakhouse - Midtown Manhattan Ratings and Reviews
Arrived and asked to wait around for table. Seated ourselves at the bar, no service had to hassle the bartender for our drink. Seated 35 mins after reservation time. Wait staff slow and surly, really not a good experience. To be fair the Steak itself was very nice.
Morton's is loud and noisy and service is spotty. We sat down and the person next to us was yelling into his cell phone. We ordered a salad to share after appetizers and the salad never came. The bone in rib eye was pretty good. The espresso was cold. We will not go back.
Outstanding! Morton’s is still the tops when it comes to consistency. The food and service on point and perfect. The Bacon Steak app & Scallops were excellent. The Cajun ribeye is one of the best steaks you will have anywhere. And their side dish of “Troy,” a combo of onions and mushrooms, which is not listed on the menu and is a hidden secret according to the server was amazing. And the hot chocolate cake to end the meal is to die for.
It was an unreal dinner! Usually in New York, the waiters tend to be rude and snobby, but we had the NICEST waiter ever! He accidentally forgot one of the side dishes and brought us a dessert for free! Now that is what i call customer service! We didn’t even mind that he didn’t bring the side dish, but he took matter into his own hands and surprised us with a dessert!
We had a great experience. Two of us had the Filet Mignon/Lobster tail special and the third person had the bone in prime rib. All were cooked to perfection. For starters, we shared two bibb salads which we greatly enjoyed. For sides we had creamed corn, creamed spinach and onion rings. All were excellent. Our server, Alexandra was superb, attentive but not intrusive. We greatly enjoyed her service and wonderful smile.
It's always a pleasure to enjoy a meal at Morton's. Though I usually dine at the 5th Avenue restaurant, I've found their service & food to be of the highest caliber across the chain. Service was attentive but not intrusive; steak and seafood perfectly prepared; sides that go above and beyond; desserts that will not be ignored. Speaking of above and beyond, I was impressed that Richard (the evening manager) called me the next day to make sure everything was exactly the way it should be. If you haven't already, I highly recommend joining Landry's Select Club (their dining rewards program)...if you only visit ONE of many restaurants included two or three times a year, you'll reap substantial benefits.
We went to Morton’s for Thanksgiving and enjoyed cocktails, burger and the chocolate molten cake. We were looking for a place close to radio music city hall and made a last minute decision to go here. Food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the ambience. Thank you for making our evening special!
Vacationed to NYC for a few days and wanted to end the trip with a nice dinner. Was thoroughly impressed with the ambiance, staff, and food. Arrived a little early to our reservation and was welcomed to the bar to wait and had a fantastic glass of Irish whiskey. Our server Micah was very friendly and great for conversation as well as making recommendations. Ended up ordering the salmon and bacon wrapped scallops and trying the godiva chocolate cake for dessert and both were fantastic. Overall one of the best meals and nights out we've had in a long time.
First the good ...
Service : poor , waiter disappeared several times candles not lit, & menus took 10 minutes to arrive at our table. He did manage to be very attentive towards the end of our meal ( shocking ) when the bill and/ or tip were due...
So to sum up , food great , service very poor considering the large bill . Neatly 400$ for 2 of us ...
Won't be back. Sorry ...
All was good overall. Good, friendly Team service.
The caesar salad could have been tastier (more zest, garlic, lemon?). Also, the croutons were impossible to break. I am sure if I had of picked them up with my hands, that may have worked, but chose not to. Not a huge deal, just wanted you to know.
