Morton's The Steakhouse - Midtown Manhattan

I invited a friend to dine as a birthday treat prior to seeing a show nearby. He ordered a Veal Chop and I ordered a 6oz Filet Mignon. The Veal Chop arrived basically raw and totally inedible. It had to be sent back. The Filet I had ordered Medium Rare. It arrived so overcooked I could barely cut it. Dry and hard to chew. I did not send it back because I was worried if neither of us had our food, we would miss our show. The side dish of Spinach and Mushrooms was average. The bread was hot. Nice. The best part was a dessert of Molten cake and ice cream that was perfection. Also a nice touch is they take your photo and give it to you in a remembrance folder with the menu. I was very disappointed in how poorly the meat was cooked.
It was personalized although last minute. Everyone was professional, recommendations were excellent. We will definitely return to this location.
Great service. Wonderful date night. We enjoyed it more than we thought. Good value.
Great food and service. General Manager Leonard Williams made our experience seem special.
Waitress rushed us then took 15 min to get the wine.
Personale gentilissimo! Super soddisfatti!
After seeing the first part of harry potter.

First meal on our first night in NYC!
We have been to Morton's on special occasions; two anniversaries, and this time with my husband and brother-in-law to celebrate the New Year.
I normally make the reservations when Morton's is having a special menu, three courses for a very reasonable fixed amount. It includes a choice of appetizers, entrees and desserts. In the absence of a special menu, prices might be a bit off-putting for some. My advice, watch for the specials.
That said, the wait staff was attentive and helpful, the hostesses were welcoming and friendly, the room, unlike so many restaurants in NYC is quiet and invites conversation that can actually be heard with fellow diners, and the food was delicious.
We'll be back.
Garret, our server, was exceptional.
We were there for New Year Celebration and everything was great!
EXCELENTE, POCOS RESTAURANTES TAN BUENOS COMO ESTE, CARNE ESPECTACULAR Y SERVICIO DE PRIMERA, VOLVERE
As usual, one of the best meals you can get for the money. Fabulous wine list.
Excellent food with very friendly staff. The meal was prepared to a high standard. My compliments to our server who explained the menu and was very friendly to our 3 children
I have visited Mortons many times. This one was TOTALY DISASTER !!!!!!
We went there after the Christmas show, Maria was an exceptional hostess, and Matt was a great waiter. The food was excellent and the service exceptional. The best table in the house is table ??. Don't want to give that away. Anyway if your in the city stop by you won't be disappointed.
Food was good. super expensive. i felt as though the menu was more expensive due to New Year’s eve. $67 rib eye?
Service was good however some of the things our waitress said blew me away. I asked what type of oysters did they have and was told well they’re not from the Hudson River. Also was asked if we wanted A-1 sauce. If i’m paying $67 for a steak, it better not need A-1 sauce.
They did prepare a birthday dessert which was really nice.
The service and food were both great.
I went with my friends to celebrate a birthday dinner. They remembered that, and printed out a special birthday menu.
Morton continues to satisfy on every level. You just can't have a bad experience there, if you tried! The wait staff is phenomenal & of course the food!! Tops my list of places to eat!
I was seated immediately by rhe hostess and greeted with the best smile by my server, Coco. Coco was attentive and made excellent recommendations. Our cocktails tasted great-not too strong, fresh ingredients - just right! Our food was nothing short of amazing. Since we were there for lunch and had plans after we did not want to walk around with any left overs or be wasteful. Coco recommended sharing the 16oz peppercorn steak which was cooked perfectly and we had the sour cream mash potatoes and spinach with mushrooms- the perfect amount of food. We ended with the cheesecake which was perfect! Management greeted us and made sure we were happy with our experience and made sure we would return! Overall, the ambiance, service and the food was worthy of a second trip!!!
Always a pleasure when I dine in Manhattan at 551 5th Ave. Richard goes above and beyond in customer attention and service. Please check this location out when your in the mood for a delicious meal and really great service.
Très bon restaurant, entrée + plat : comptez env 200$
Celebrated my birthday and everything was fabulous, the steaks were delicious and sides and deserts were yum!
Sigh... we used to really like Morton's. But my wife and I were disappointed this time, on our annual visit to the 45th street restaurant.
I left about a quarter of my Prime Manhattan Cut steak because of gristle. And it was more rare than the medium rare that I ordered... but I didn't want to wait to eat by sending it back for additional cooking.
My wife left most of her Shrimp Scampi Capellini's pasta, saying it was over-done and not tasty. She ate her shrimps though.
We ordered hash brown potatoes to share. I seem to remember this potato dish in years past as freshly made. This was a hard shuffle-board disk, pressed and over-cooked.
The best part was tomato with blue cheese dressing.
Service and Food was top notch.
We had booked a table at an arranged time, than rushed to order. After a show. Reminded at least 5 times but ordered very quickly. Desserts were brought at very different times. At this price, disappointing. Food was nice. People arrived and served long after us as well. If you accept bookings at 22.00 provide a normal service.
The food was tasty and the rib eye was delicious however, the Manhattan Strip was a bit over done. We asked for Medium Rare and it came out as Medium. The truffle fries and Lobster Bisque were to die for though.
The dinners were amazing! Food was cooked to perfection and when they say "sides for sharing" they mean it. Highly recommended.
Outstanding service, waiter was extremely accommodating. Steak was out of this world
Seeing friends for our yearly friend Christmas dinner
Holiday gathering amongst coworkers...exceptional overall experience!
So maybe lunch here the week before Christmas is a poor example to site- the place was wall-to-wall with tourists, maybe my experience isnt typical. Ill be brief: we sat down, were asked to move, werent assigned a waiter, just ticking every box of a restaurant under weak management. The food was good, worth the money, but I wouldnt go back.
Always fantastic food!
