It was the worst experience in dining we have ever had. Waited over an hour for our food that was burned, charred, or overcooked for our party of 11. The place had only 5 to 7 small tables when we arrived at 730. Why the poor service? Will never go or recommend . The manager never came when we requested her attention.
We are Landry's members and frequent Mortons restaurants in many locations......Louisville Mortons is the worst !! Many other options in Louisville, i.e. Jeff Rubys etc. This restaurant gives Landry's and Mortons a black eye. You will see some good reviews of this restaurant, but check and see how many top steakhouse the reviewer frequents. If you frequent Longhorn Steakhouse or Texas Roadhouse you may enjoy the higher prices. Seriously if you want a memorable experience pick one of many other Steakhouses in Louisville. And if you are in Orlando pick Mortons, great SERVICE and FOOD.
Our server Derrick was wonderful. He made our very special meal, even more special! Great food, but so highly priced that we can only come one in a while. The sides, broccoli and horse radish, were especially good. It was a wonderful way to have a memorable Thanksgiving dinner.
The food and atmosphere are wonderful, but the service is seriously lacking. One table walked out while we were there because of it. They weren’t acknowledged for 20 minutes. Another table across from us had bread when we arrived, but were being ignored. We had salad and were well into our dinner before their meal arrived. The worse part is no one acknowledged them in between.
Our lack of service was as follows: the salad arrived before the cocktails. No one brought bread. We finished our salads and they finally delivered the cocktails. I had to ask for the bread when I finally got our waitresses attention. When she first took our order, she told us if we wanted to order dessert we had to order in advance - the phrasing was terrible. She left us with the impression the only dessert options were the soufflés and the ice cream sundae which took 35 minutes to prepare. No mention of any other desserts and the descriptions of those were terrible. Our waitress was spaced out and distracted, but we weren’t sure by what. The manager never stopped to check on our meal. She was hovering at the host stand, so we were going to have a word with her as we left, but the manager was discussing the problem in service with 2 waiters and the assistant manager, maybe. They were so caught up in their discussion they never acknowledged us. So not the location to be airing problems. As I see it, the management was part of the problem. If you aren’t staffed properly or are in an unexpected rush, they should fill in and help. One was working the pass, but a lot of the time they were walking by tables that needed things or ones that should have been cleared and reset . Definitely not up to Morton’s standards. The chefs and the Kitchen deserve a round of applause, however. The Cajun ribeye was phenomenal, as was the whole dinner.
Went to Morton's before the Lady Gaga concert with some friends. We opted to go to Morton's because Jeff Ruby's was booked, but I had heard good things about it. When we arrived we went to the bar to wait for our whole party to arrive and met some really nice bartenders. They were great. After my whole party arrived we were seated and our waiter was Matt. He was okay a little short with us when ordering and not super attentive throughout the meal. We arrived at about 5:00 and did not get our food until 6:45 pm. This was unacceptable for us. We had to rush to eat our food and were later than we wanted to be for the concert. Not only was the service slow, but when my steak arrived it was lukewarm. Totally not what I expected when I paid $50+ for the steak. Will not return.
This restaurant is excellent!! The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. We tried a variety of appetizers and dinner options and you honestly can't go wrong. Plan on spending a good deal of money. This restaurant is not for the frugal. However, if you don't mind spending a pretty penny, you WILL get your money's worth!
It was horrible. There is no wall dividing the bar in the restaurant. The noise level was so loud we could not hear ourselves think. One in our company had a problem with his hearing and it was hurting him. We told the waiter about it and he said there was nothing he would do. There were plenty of empty tables but he refused to even think about moving us
The appetizer course was excellent. The scallops were cooked to perfection. The salad, a house special was exceptional. The main course was a perfectly cook filet and braised short rooms. The side items were baked potato and lobster Mac & cheese. The only disappointment this evening was the lobster Mac & cheese, which was dry and very not cheesy.
Food was a notch above average and almost perfectly prepared. Pricing was well above the value category. Landry's other steakhouse, Saltgrass, a better deal. Still, hard to fault Morton's if making a good impression is the object and food will not disappoint.
Way too expensive! I'm sure that's why there was only one other couple in the whole place! Food was prepared perfect, service was good. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. 3 drinks, no appetizer. We split a salad. Two entrees( alacart), two sides and no dessert. Not worth $250.00(with tip) to me!!
For the third time, we've attempted to enjoy food and drinks prior to a show at the Kentucky Center or the KFC Yum Center. We've sat in the bar, and waited and waited and waited and waited. The staff is scrambling to get things done, clearly untrained, and fail to serve guests in a timely or professional matter. On the most recent occasion, a dining server was sent to help us. He was terrific, but told us that we couldn't order from the bar/snack menu if he was serving. Funny, is our money only good for entrees and not appetizers?! Food is usually very good, but pricy. Sadly, we will not be back. Too many other options where we can relax and enjoy some pre-theatre dining without the stress and aggravation.
My steak was excellent! The shrimp and asparagus were bery good. The bread was got and great. I also had a Lemon Drop Martini which was spectacular. My only complaint was the salad had too much dressing it was the bibb lettuce salad. Also, whenever I'm paying this much for a meal usually the waiters are on top of filling up your wate. At one point I ran out of water and even drank part of my husband's before they even came back to refill it. We used to come here all the time and everything was spectacular every time, five star, hopefully it was just a fluke this night. The bad thing was it wasn't really crowded so no excuse. Still a really good meal though.
As good of NY Strip has I have ever had. And, I've been fortunate to eat at many great steak houses around the country. Pluses are nice wine list, comfy seating, and friendly staff(especially at the bar). They could upgrade their look a bit, but it's nice and cozy, even if it's a bit old fashion. Excellent food. Would definitely recommend the chopped spinach salad as a starter.
We made reservations for Morton's for a small celebration for me and my fianceé's late engagement dinner on Labor Day weekend. We initially only had 7 guest and had to change our reservation twice to accomadate our party, which kept growing, but Morton's accommodating us with no complaints. We arrived on time and we're seated without having to wait. Our servers, Debbie & Austin, were phenomenal and went above and beyond taking care of our group. Morton's even offered to take a group photo and printed out copies for our group. I was more than pleased with the exceptional service we received.
