Morton's The Steakhouse - Louisville
Book your next event with us
Morton's continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. The food is fantastic. The service is the great best and they always treat us well. This visit was for Fathers day but is always our first thought when celebrating a special occasion. We highly recommend you ask for Debbie as your server. She willm insure your dinning experience is one to remember.
Thanks to the staff of Morton's for making Father's day special.
Great food. Great service
Perfect meal in quiet location. Waiter was friendly and explained the specials to us. We came with a mailer and an ad on the web site, both of which were honored.
Tiffany was wonderful. The meal was excellent as always!
Morton's is always great. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the staff got us out on time to see Hamilton!
Had an awesome pre Hamilton dinner. Got there early to take advantage of the specials in the bar area. Good prices on really good food. Then a couple of us had a bone in ribeye which was amazing. Our server Carey made a special night even better.
Nice atmosphere with a really nice bar selection , food was good but mediocre . I personally had better steaks from outback or longhorns . It was a good experience but I wouldn’t recommend . Ruth Chris will be my next experience
Service was great! They knew we needed to get to a show and timed everything beautifully we did not feel rushed even though we had a time frame. The food was delicious! Sides are huge - more than enough for two people.
The service was great! Our server was very attentive and the place was packed! The food was delicious! I love the horseradish mashed potatoes....so yummy! And we ended the night with the hot chocolate molten cake. So good!
The shrimp cocktail, grilled asparagus, and lemon soufflé were amazing. The lobster bisque, potato, and filets were just OK. I would recommend for wine and appetizers but not the entrees we had. Our bill for 2 was $200, and I expect much more for this amount. Disappointing since the beef is what they specialize in.
Morton’s is a great place to celebrate special events. My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary, and not only did they congratulate us on arrival, as well as throughout the evening, but they also printed our own menus and had small anniversary decorations on the table. We also ended the night with a free dessert in honor of our anniversary! The 2 reasons I am not giving a 5 star rating is because 1) My steak was over cooked and 2) Our server seemed to disappear at times. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will be back!
Nothing really exciting here. Filet is exceptional, ribeye a let down. Little value in appetizers, cold plates skimpy. Too many other better options.
The private room was fantastic and the staff was great
We have been regular visitors over the years and this is possibly our last visit.
After we were sat it took some time to be greeted and our service overall was so so. She was very kind, but very new, and it wasn’t as polished as expected at a Morton’s.
The shrimp in our mixed grill was undercooked and still translucent. Steak and potatoes were excellent.
The server was kind and took the liberty to order us a dessert on the house, unfortunately it wasn’t very appetizing and we would have been happy to pay for a dessert that we actually wanted if we had been given the choice.
This is our 2nd mediocre experience at this Morton’s. We will likely choose a different restaurant the next time we are wanting to treat ourselves.
The food is tasteful but overpriced. Soufflé was not cooked (basically mush) but they did not charge us.
Seated on time (7:45) Ordered food about 20 min after seated. Drinks came promptly and Salads came promptly but waited on our main course for approximately 45+ minutes. Waitress keep checking and apologizing but it wasn’t ready. By the time we ate there was only a few occupied tables left in the restaurant and we could see the kitchen packing up for the night. We had filets so couldn’t understand why it took so long. We have been to Morton’s in Indianapolis and never experienced this problem. When spending $200 for drinks and meal one would expect better service. We felt problem was in kitchen not waitress.
Family had a great experience and food was fabulous
Tim was great will definitely ask for him when we come back
First time there and wonderful experience
Will definitely be back and highly recommended
We went Derby night so the place was full of energy. This made the environment fun. The service was impeccable. We both ordered the filets and shared an gratin potatoes. The steaks were juicy and had a wonderful flavor. The potatoes were good. We have dined all over Louisville and I would categorize Morton’s as your traditional steakhouse. Nothing is cutting edge or imaginative but they deliver the steakhouse classics in an appealing and tasty way.
The host said my reservations were for the bar, but Open Table did not state such when I made the reservation. He had to get approval from the manager to give me a table in the dining area. I was disappointed because for the entire meal there was only one other party in the dining room; thus it was obvious there was room in the dining area. The host knew it was my anniversary and probably should’ve expected that I wouldn’t have wanted to sit in a loud bar area. I don’t believe my experience with the host was related to race, but I have had an experience at another Landry’s restaurant where I felt my race as an African American was a factor in my less than pleasant xperience.
The steak didn’t really have any seasoning. I had to send my Filet back twice after receiving it because it was not medium well as I had requested.
I ordered the hot chocolate cake for dessert, but it was over cooked because there was no liquid flowing from the center of the cake.
After my initial experience with the host and the quality of the steak I would’ve expected to hear from one of the what appeared to be 3 managers, but they did not come to my table. With the restaurant being pretty much empty during my meal I would’ve expected a little more hospitality from the managers.
The best part of the meal was our server.
I normally go to Ruth Chris, but my wife wanted to try Morton’s. I will have to consider whether I come back to Morton’s.
Great food and atmosphere. The waiter and so many others made my moms birthday so special! Only complaint is it took a minimum of 20 minutes to receive anything after we ordered it - including the drinks. I ordered another drink expecting to be able to sip on it while our steaks were being made but instead it came 25 minutes later with the dinner.
Birthday dinner...this Team was spot-on from the moment we walked in. Our table was decorated to commemorate the birthday being celebrated. As per the norm for Morton’s...the food, the presentation, the server expertise, and the overall experience was outstanding!!
Extremely pleased with our overall experience!!!
Don’t know that it was worth $250 (with 20% tip) for two. Food was really good, steak a little undercooked for being medium well, scallops with bacon was cooked excellently. The main downside was the drinks. The drinks did not at all compliment the meals. I ordered a Moscow mule and wife ordered their house Sangria. The Mule had a hint of ginger-ale but not ginger-beer, vodka was completely unnoticeable, but there was indeed a lime and PLENTY of ice in a beautiful brass cup... so I ordered Makers neat to satisfy my desire for an adult drink. Sangria is supposed to be wine infused with fruit, usually topped off right before serving with soda water. The Morton’s house Sangria had no taste of wine whatsoever. Tasted like Kool Aid but add more water if you could imagine. And of course, PLENTY of ice. For desert though, we enjoyed a house made Key lime pie that was delicious! Very homemade taste, thank goodness. Not box-mix or mass production flavor at all! The staff was indeed excellent. From hostess to our excellent waitress and on... minus the bar tender/mixologist. Very personable and wonderful.
We were just taking our son out, he’s 28 and had helped us move over the weekend. His first time there. As usual, everything was just delightful. We can’t wait to come back 💜
It was wonderful
Everything was great! TJ did a fantastic job and Ronda, the Assistant Manager, stopped by to say hello and make sure our night went great. Wonderful staff, food, and location.
Went to three places to eat for dinner in the area. By far the food and customer service here is far beyond the other places we tried.
We had a horrible experience the last time we went, a few years back. We decided to give you all another chance because it was Thunder Over Louisville and you were all close by. Bad decision on our part. The waiter was awesome. Very nice and outgoing and helpful. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail we received were really dry. We only ate 1 shrimp. The steak I ordered medium, came out completely done and it was really nasty. Lamb was way under cooked. The other steak was cold when it came out. Not happy at all with this experience and will not be back, no matter what. Also will not recommend to anyone. The only two things that were positive about the experience is there were only 2 other tables with people at them, so not at all loud and the waiter was really good.
Moton's never disappoints, great food, great service and a great time. Is it pricey, hell yeah, is it worth it, again hell yeah.
Service did not meet expectations for a restaurant in this price point. For example, we waited much longer than we should to be greeted by our waiter or at least to receive water service. This level of service continued through the remainder of our dinner. Additionally, I asked to have the waiter to request my vehicle that was valeted to be brought around. It was not requested or at least the valet had not retrieved it.
If only we had stopped after our appetizer and salad my review would be 5 stars. The Ahi Tuna Tower was delicious and beautifully presented. The salads were point on. My filet and my husbands NY Strip medallions were poor quality and poorly cooked. My scallops were delicious, but my medium-rare filet was cold to the touch and barely seared on the outside. In my world, that is called rare, not medium rare. My husband's were also under-cooked and the meat was tough and flavorless. Service was decent, but I wish they wouldn't keep trying to sell me memberships, tours and deals while I am having my very expensive meal. The Valet Parking Attendant was actually sitting in the vestibule when we walked out. We expected another employee to come help us since we walked right past him without his acknowledging us. Instead, we stood out in front of his podium for 2-3 minutes (I guess he had to finish his break) before he came to assist. He never made eye contact, he was unfriendly and rude. Worst Valet Parking experience ever! Again, appetizer and salads were great! Entree and Sides not worth the money or the calories! Tony's in Lexington, Ruth's Chris and J. Alexander, far outshine in food quality and service!
Felt like my steak was average compared to many other bone in ribeyes that I have had in high end places.
Great food, great server-April
Celebrated a Birthday with my wife at MORTON'S!Amazing experience,Porterhouse steak was scrumptious, our server was excellent,he was courteous and very informative about the items on the menu. The seating was great with a romantic vibe to it.
The Louisville location lives up to the standard you expect from Morton’s. It’s in a basement, which is a little odd and it can feel a bit closed in, but overall it works. Excellent food and great service.
The sea bass and lobster tail were delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and the overall atmosphere elegant and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed everything from our crabmeat cocktail to our desserts.
Experience was phenomenal. Food was delicious! Waiter was personable and made our experience memorable. I've been wanting to eat here for some time now and it was not a disappointment. Thank you!
