I ordered the lobster bisque and it was bland. For my entree I ordered the Salmon from the mixed grill which was also a bland plate. The food was cooked well but lacked seasoning. For the prices you pay I expect everything to taste delicious. However, service was great.
This was an excellent venue for a fabulous meal. Our server, Nick, was superb and made the dining experience absolutely perfect. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was enjoyable! Thanks!
Very disappointing was expecting a great steak, the quality of the steak was very good unfortunately the cook(not a chef!)
Didn’t have a clue on how to cook medium rare. The steak was blue, black, medium well and medium rare. Not really sure how he accomplished this! The potato au gratin were COLD. Ordered mushrooms and spinach totally forgot to put in order. Showed up mid meal the manager came over didn’t really give a hoot. His response was I’ll buy dessert. Will never return. Would definitely never recommend!!
As allways atmosphere was nice an especially quiet this visit service with Brandon was super an the food from the spicy shrimp cocktail to the good salad to the excellent 12oz fillet it was very good!! Can not wait till i go back an i do very much love going on mondays especially if the so talented manager Savannah is working!!
Eat at the bar and the ladies and gentlemen servicing were talkative and made appropriate recommendations. Spot on.
No free valet parking like every other up scale steak house in the city, the door handle is so sticky filthy you want to stick your hand in the fire to clean it. Service was poor, they had a fathers day special that they were running that our waiter "forgot about" I found out after I ordered and over heard a different waiter explaining to his table. Even though I called this to my waiters attention and my meal qualified for the promotion he still failed to adjust the bill. As we ordered our first course our waiter was taken to assist with a table of 12, so we saw very little of him after that and held us captive much longer than necessary.
Great place for birthdays. You made it special. Thank you.
Food and service were excellent
Our waitress and the food were amazing. Had an incredible experience and would def go back.
Service started off rocky, but the recovery was good. The food and atmosphere was excellent. My daughter really enjoyed herself. Would visit again and recommend others do the same.
The food and service was excellent.
I usually think of Morton's as an old school steakhouse. I tend to go elsewhere for whatever reason. Boy was I wrong. Morton's in Jacksonville was fabulous. Steaks were perfectly cooked. Sides of cream spinach and creamed corn were the best. The au-gratin potatoes were like having a dessert. Lobster bisque rates with the best. Our waitress was attentive and yet gave us the space to talk and enjoy. Outstanding!
Everything was GREAT. Just wished it wasn’t so noisy, you can barely hear your own conversation.
Issue with my takeaway order, did not receive what I ordered. Returned from my hotel room and the issue was resolved. The Bar staff ordered correctly but there must have been a mistake in the kitchen?
The food was delicious as always.
Good food and service.
Dinner for two. I had the prime rib eye. Nice char juicy. Wife had none in filet. She loved it thick. Well cooked. Med rare. Had spinach with mushrooms. Very good. It's going to cost.
Cocktails: meh. Appetizer: Escargot - very good. Entrees: steak flight (3 medallions)- average. Meat was good but 2 of 3 medallions were over cooked. Lobster tail and scallops- terrible. Scallops were inedible they were so salty. Lobster was over cooked and chewy. Desert: “signature” soufflé - awful. Ordered chocolate but got grand mariner instead. Not a big deal, mistakes happen, but the soufflé itself tastes like a bowl of cooked chunky egg whites. Just really poorly done. Finally, the after dinner coffee was noticeably burnt. This place was a total let down and a huge rip off. Will not be coming back.
My husband and I really enjoyed the food and the awesome service Morton's provided
Everything was excellent! However, I did think that the appetizer (Shrimp Alexander) was overpriced for just 4 shrimps, they were good but 22 dollars for 4 shrimps was way over priced in my eyes.
Pleasant experience in dinning for one. Handicap accessible service is good also. The food and drinks should have been the best part and it certainly was.
The wedge salad was fresh and crisp. The filet mignon was tender, but not the most flavorful. The only criticism I have is a small one, but It is the second time I've noticed it at a Morton's, Too much staff noise.
Terrible experience, waiter was not qualified, tried to keep upselling us on Landry's membership card - service was poor, restaurant was loud and appeared to be unorganized, valeted my car, when I came out they could not find the keys - turns out they left the keys in the car with lights on - so battery died - overall terrible experience and normally I like Mortons in other towns.
Great food and service
We had a party of 7 and some of the meals were good others were just ok. For the prices, the quality should be better. We waited a long time for our food and the restaurant was not very busy.
Had dinner at this high end restaurant last night. Overall, this would have to rank as mediocre considering the price. Service & drinks we’re excellent. After that, everything was mediocre. We started with escargot which were a major disappointment. Just no taste or thrilling flavor at all. They are advertised as being baked in a pastry shell. In fact, they are prepared the same way everyone else does it, in a dish with 6 pockets for the escargot. The pastry shell is cooked ahead and placed on top. So why mislead?
My wife 6 oz filet was badly underdone and had to be returned. When it came back it was properly cooked but tough ( from being returned). I had veal chop & it was okay. But, like the rest of the meal, nothing great. For this kind of money we should have been wowed!! By comparison, we eat at Ruth Chris in Savannah at least once a year. Prices are comparable but we have always left saying WOW that was a great meal. So, no more Morton’s in our future.
Staff were great! Nice look! Birthday table nicely decorated.
We waited well over an hour for our food to arrive. Once we were finally served, one entree was terribly undercooked (sea bass). It was rubbery and gross. In all, we were in the restaurant around two hours trying to eat dinner. If you’re going to be waiting a ridiculous amount of time to eat, it needs to be good. But, it wasn’t.
Main course was 12oz fillet. Asked for med rare, received med. steak was not what we expected in regard to finish or taste. Not sure how to explain the taste. Just blah
Waiter was ok - a bit odd but fine. Didn't get apps this time. My ribeye was just okay. Cooked a little over medium rare. The potatoes au gratin was subpar, however. Little taste and the potatoes were not cooked through.
Steaks were good even if they did run out of what we ordered bake potato was cold . Cold potato was only issue we had. Salad was good along with the bread. Shrimp cocktail was excellent an the crown an sevens were just wright.
The lobster served was a Caribbean lobster and not a cold water lobster tail. Very disappointed
This was our first visit to this Morton's and probably will be our last. The parking situation is not easy and one wouldn't know there is a parking garage unless they decided to drive past the main entrance and valet. The interior of the restaurant seems very dated, as in 1980's with a lot of black walls and trim. The food was okay. They cooked our steaks "Pittsburgh style", a term we were not familiar with. Mine went back as I don't like charred on the outside and rare inside, instead of medium rare as ordered. The salad with mustard dressing was horrible; unless you like a LOT of mustard (and I'm good with a touch of mustard). The au poivre sauce was too heavy on the pepper and peppercorns. The mashed truffle cauliflower was fantastic. They should put that on the menu as a regular item. Morton's bread used to be good; no longer the case.
This is a great fine dining restaurant conveniently located downtown. The evening was wonderful.
Where should we start? Steak was undercooked and then over compensated to a well done outside making it charred and tough to chew and cut. Server was nice but didn’t know when to stop talking. For instance stories of burn unit nursing past while we were eating. Manager came over to check on the steak and didn’t seem to care that the meal was far from perfect. Not a good experience for us!
Valentine’s date night. We can never go wrong with Morton’s. Our service was good but felt a little rushed. Our steaks were cooked perfectly.
Dining at Morton’s Jacksonville is always a treat. The service is outstanding, the food is fantastic, and the decor is the finisher. Great place for dinner before a show!
Date night w hubby. Steaks weren’t cooked right. Asked for medium, they were both med rare. Server rushed us. Asked him to take his time putting our order in so we could enjoy our drink. About 10 minutes later as I’m putting a bite of bread in my mouth, he swoops in and takes our bread and bread plates away (I’m still chewing), doesn’t even ask if we want to keep the bread, as is typical, and here come others servers with our meal! Then he was nowhere to be found when we wanted our check. He was busy with a large table behind us. And also of note, there is no enforced dress code. Half the people dining there were dressed nice and the other half looked they just rolled out of bed. There’s a time and place for that, not at a nice steakhouse. It’s Ruth’s Chris across the river for us from here on out.
Excellent food but a little on the pricey side. Although the portions were generous, $50-60 for a piece of steak is a too much
We celebrated my husbands birthday and the personal touches were just what i was looking for for him. The food was great and the service was even better. Look forward to celebrating more occasions here!
My review is limited to our experience on Valentine's Day. We had 8:45 pm reservations. We were seated promptly and then it was a total wait for our wine, apps, and dinner. It was obvious that the kitchen was understaffed. The waiter indicated there could be a wait. Wine was served about 9:00. We were offered bread about 9:15 and our apps came about 9:30. Our steaks came about 20 minutes later (close to 10:00. A bus boy brought us lyonaise potatos, but not the cream spinach we ordered as well. Our waiter came to the table and told us that they were out of the cream spinach. We asked for creamed corn. A short time later we were told - out of cream corn. Settled for asparagus. The steaks were excellent. The potatos were not. They were more equivalent to home fries with tons of onions. The asparagus was ok. We had to wait awhile for the check. Ordered carrot cake to go because of the late hour (carrot cake is excellent) The reason for the two stars was the awful way management ran the restaurant,. It should have been much more prepared for a big night of customers on this days. The waiter did well but should have come to the table more than he did to advise us of the holdup. With several other good steakhouses in our area, I am not sure the value we received was commensurate with the price.
