Morton's The Steakhouse - Houston - Galleria Ratings and Reviews
Los tres comensales pedimos tres diferentes cortes de carne y los tres ordenamos el mismo término de cocimiento "medium" y a los tres nos entregaron la carne con término "medium well" lo cual influenció negativamente en el sabor y en el jugo de la carne.
I was so disappointed in the food that we received on the special occasion. Service was very slow the steaks were overcooked. In the past I have always loved going to Morton's and taking friends and family . I will definitely think long and hard about returning. It is very rare that I would ever give a negative response however it was my friends birthday and his first visit to Morton's.
We have been to this restaurant many times. On this occasion the ambiance was terrible. We were seated and then a very loud foursome arrived. To top it off our waiter forgot to put in our order of cipolini onions so they arrived after we had eaten almost all of our steaks. On bringing the onions our waiter remarked that he would like to have a seat and join our table as the onions smelled so good. This is not what I expect for service at Morton’s. Way too “friendly”
Had a very great experience, went for my anniversary and they had made a custom menu for us that said Happy Anniversary which was really nice and unexpected. It was really nice and modern inside a very comfort feeling, the food was really great, good portions and it wasnt overpriced like some restaurants that only give you a spoonful. They split everything up for us (caesar salad, lobster mac-n-cheese etc.) they had a very good long list of options for wine and alcohol. Although the best part was the waiter, Randy. Very nice gentleman he explained everything we asked him, he had a great sense of humor and checked on us often. I had bought a ring for her and gave it to him and asked if he can bring it out after we finished dinner, he went out of his way to bring it on a nice plater with strawberries cut up into rose petals and chocolate that nicely wrote "Happy Anniversary." Also they took a picture of us and put it on a folded paper frame for us to keep. I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone you wouldnt be sorry will be going again sometime soon.
We have been to several different Morton's restaurants in several different cities, including this one twice before - Morton's had been one our favorite steakhouses prior to this visit. Hurricane Harvey occurred just before, so it could have affected food quality and restaurant personnel that were able to show up, but the food was terrible. We had a filet (slightly overcooked), grilled shrimp (inedible), and scallops which were just ok. We ordered sliced lobster tail and found it to be chewy/rubbery and only ate 1/3 of it - very disappointed. Bill for table of 4 was almost $500 without any wine being ordered. We would consider going back considering the special circumstances, but won't since it is obvious no one was tasting or checking the food leaving the kitchen and being served to the customers.
Every year for one of my family member's birthdays (usually mine or my dad's), we go out to Morton's and we share the Cajun ribeye steak and the lyonnaise potatoes. There's a reason we do it too. It's because both dishes are delicious! This time, however, we went for Houston Restaurant Weeks, and the Cajun ribeye was not available on the HRW menu. This turned out to be the best thing we could've asked for because it forced us to try some other dishes Morton's offers. I got the pork chop, Dad got the salmon and Mom got the filet. All three dishes were excellent! The pork chop cut is huge! It was juicy and flavorful. The filet was nice and tender, almost as good as the Cajun ribeye. And the salmon was fabulous. For HRW, they give you some pretty generous portions of meat and sides. Their sides were all excellent too. I ordered the jumbo asparagus, Dad got the lyonnaise potatoes and Mom got the creamed spinach. We also all got different desserts, and they were all delicious too. And the service was spot on as always. I've always recommended Morton's to my friends for special occasions, but now I can recommend they order something other than the Cajun ribeye! Great HRW experience, Morton's. We'll be back soon!
We are LSC members with an 8:30PM reservation. Waited 25 minutes to be seated after arriving on time. Another 15 minutes to get bread and water, then things went more smoothly. Lobsters were great as were the asparagus. The brussel sprouts were burnt. On the whole, they could do better, they could have comped us a cocktail or a side dish or something, but nothing was offered which was surprising. Our waiter, Christian, did a fine job.
This is one of my favorite luncheon places. The food is terrific although I tend to lean toward low-cal dishes like the crab meat omelette rather than beef dishes. Either way the chef and the wait staff know what they are doing. The best feature though is the ambiance which is really great for a business lunch. Noise levels are manageable, the service is impeccable and the overall ambiance is perfect for a serious conversation. Highly recommended!
Horrible. Tony Restaurant prices with cafeteria food. Everything was raw. Sea Bass raw, steaks, raw. Place needs to close down. Never going back. Cream corn came out of a can. Beef steak tomatoes no flavor. Dressing looked like mayonnaise. Baked potatoes over cooked. Asparagus was tough. Nobody in charge. Everybody running around doing nothing.
Everything about our dining experience was Five Star plus!
The service was the best service we have had in a Houston Restaurant! Both Mangers came over to check on us several times! So all the professional service staff helps everyone so you get fabulous service!
Wonderful Steak House!
It was truly spectacular in many ways. Service was perfect, food was delicious, and the suggestion on the wine was spot on. The only complaint would be the noise level - the tables are so close together that you can hear other people's conversations and if you're there for a romantic evening, which we were, it is not as pleasant as it could be. We did love the extra touches; complimentary dessert for our anniversary, and even a photo!
We came here for my fiancé's birthday and everything was wonderful except that when we told the waiter we would be doing the prefixed Houston restaurant week menu which is less expensive, the service completely changed. What's funny is that we just appreciate the cause for the donations to the food bank and hey had a good menu. We still purchased tons of alcohol and every upgrade so it wasn't a cheap meal but for the first two courses our waiter was rushing us out to get a new table!!! After he realized we were spending money he became much better though
Overall it was good. The appetizer and salads were great and three of the four meals we ordered came out as expected. Mine was a combo of a medium rare filet with scallops and grilled shrimp for about $60. The steak was medium well at best and by the time the waiter came back around and then brought be a new one 20m had passed and everyone else in my party was pretty much done and I had lost interest at that point. The manager politely said to let him know if we needed anything else then left. The second steak was cool in the middle but I didn't say anything; I can live with that as opposed to being over cooked and it was much better than the first.
I will say I was surprised that they didn't take anything off the bill or offer any free dessert for the mistake. Just handed us the check like nothing had happened. It's been quite a while since I have been there and I don't think I would rush back.
