Morton's The Steakhouse - Honolulu Ratings and Reviews
I waited at my table for after being seated for about ten minutes before anyone approached to check to see if we needed a server. Other than that, the experience was okay. The food was good, but my steak was overcooked a little. The server offered to have it redone, but I had already waited 20 minutes to eat so I declined the offer. The prices are extremely high. Definitely not a place to bring a family unless it's a special occasion.
Great food and service. Terrible ambiance. We were seated next to a couple with only a planter between us. (It reminded me of Little Village Noodle House.) The guy was so picky that the server felt compelled to speak louder. A few times, she was so loud, I jumped. By the end of the night, the woman had stopped speaking to the guy. My husband and I tried to ignore them and have a good time, but it was difficult.
Initially excited about going to Mortons for a special occasion, but finding parking and navigating the Ala Moana shopping center to get to the restaurant was a pain. After arriving, the greeting was ok and the server attentive, but ultimately the food was overpriced for what we received. The special, an organic wagyu 10 oz NY strip, was not all that...the cheaper priced filet mignon was very good. The shrimp scampi ordered came with pasta that had entirely too much garlic and really not edible. Overall, it was ok...but I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it.
Steaks, lobster, crab, potatoes and salads were scrumptious and perfectly prepared.
But the aspect of Morton’s that makes it rise above similar restaurants is the service.
Tim is an extraordinary server who flawlessly accommodated the vagaries of the eating habits of three children. Tim is the archetypal server. He is extremely professional yet he exudes a friendly and caring demeanor that makes dining at Morton’s a memorable and highly anticipated dining experience.
Our Christmas dinner was amazing. The oysters were delicious. The shrimp cocktail was superb fat succulent pieces of heaven. The Cajun ribeye is so flavorful. I loved the horseradish mash too. The desserts were amazing as well. Their signature chocolate soufflé was as light as a feather and the chocolate ooze cake was divine. We will be back for sure.
Eat more steak!
My wife & I went for her birthday. We had a wedge salad, bone in rib eye for two, lobster, asparagus , mash potatoes & lemon souffle. It was all outstanding except for the lobster, which was very good but not on par with the rest of the meal.
The service was great - attentive & relaxed. Good teamwork all around.
Easy access in & out. We are planning a trip back with our elderly parents. About 15 feet from curb to elevator then just a matter of getting to the table - all flat.
This place is really pricey. We spent about 100 per person with 1 drink each. I asked for a steak medium rare and got one that was medium well. I sent it back and they were very quick to get me another one.
The quality of the food was good, but not exceptional. The ambience is nice, very dark and romantic, but the overall experience doesn’t match the price value.
Their steaks are always delicious so this time we tried the Braised Beef Short ribs and the Chicken Christopher. Both are just as delicious as their steaks. The short ribs are served stroganoff-style and the meat just falls right off the bone. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable . This place is just awesome!
My first visit to Morton's in Honolulu. The decor was what you would expect from a Morton's. Our server was very pleasant and did a good job. The food, of course, was excellent. The only downside was the bar at one end of the restaurant was not enclosed and the noise from the
TVs and the bar crowd made it difficult to have a quiet conversation.
