About
It was a pleasure to eat at Morton’s Georgetown! Danny our server was friendly and able help guide my friends and I to the chefs seasonal specials! All of which were outstanding! We loved sitting on the patio and enjoying the ambiance outside. Thank you to Ram the GM, the other servers and bartender who made our night so much fun!
Great food and ambiance! The price is a bit expensive but food quality is top notch.
Just an OK place. The drinks list only includes cocktails and dessert wines. We had to go to the bar to inquire about scotch , bourbon or other drinks that they might have. The bartender was clueless about the choices. They were also out of some of the wines we picked from the wine list (which is extensive). I wonder how difficult is to keep it up to date. The baked escargots that we ordered came with little bread puffs on top. We could not eat them because the of the strong burned butter flavor. The manger took them off the bill at the end. The steaks were good and so were the salads and side dishes. Service was OK but not outstanding. I would not go for a special occasion for which you want a more refined experience..
Wonderful , great
Consitent. Good but not whaouah
Pricey and overrated.
Server was pleasant; but the sommelier brought wrong wine and opened the bottle before checking the order with us. Red wine served warm. Ice-bucket was requested, but took over 15 minutes to arrive with little ice, and via the server who promptly chose to ice the water bottle and leave the wine bottle on the table! (Sommelier should not have delegated, especially as the restaurant was not busy!).
Food portions outsized but not special in flavor. A medium-rare ordered steak came overdone with no apology. We were not willing to await a replacement, but one was not offered. A salad from the appetizer menu was gargantuan- enough for two as a main course, but not especially tasty. Fish dish was best of the night; competently prepared and generous, but realistic single serving size. Will not plan a return trip. Not eager to spend almost $100/person for less-than-exciting food. Morton’s needs to up its game!
When you spend the $ you do at Morton’s, you should be able to dine leisurely. Our server rushed through the entire meal
We had not been here for ~15 years ago. Then, it had reliably wonderful food and excellent service. We decided to take our 21 year old daughter here hoping for the same. Morton's did not disappoint. She said it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Outstanding service-personable and attentive but not intrusive. Our meals were overall really good-nothing unusual, just a well-prepared feast of steak, broccoli, potatoes and salad, wine and dessert. The bread pudding was excellent! A gastronomic and $$ splurge but worth it.
I've been a diner at Morton's going on 20 years now and it's had its peaks and valleys but dinner this past Saturday night was sensational . Service was attentive without being overplayed and every aspect of the meal -salads, crab cocktails , steaks , sides , and the huge molten cake hot fudge sundae for dessert was a perfect ending . They also make a mean martini. I've heard it's closing and moving within the month so I'll be checking out the new incarnation when it's open .
Graduation
Restaurant is a little tired. 1/4 full on a Saturday night. Server was nice and did a good job, steaks were so so and ambiance was weak. Morton’s seems to have fallen behind the other major steakhouse brands.
Steaks were cooked perfectly and great quality. Tomatoes were not very good. Real nice meal overall.
It was great. They accommodated my birthday party as more people arrived. Best experience ever. Best place to have your birthday party dinner.
Last minute default reservation . The food and service was good . The menu had enough options to please all tastes . A bit pricy , but no wait which is great when you’re hungry .
Wonderful meat and great service!
Filet mignon with bearnaise excellent, though. 6 and 8oz portions appeared smalller than that. Potatoes were cold but was quickly replaced. Waiter was excellent. Overall not worth the overpriced cost. $450 party of four with 2 cocktails, one glass of wine and 3 desserts.
Great steaks and chops at this Resteraunt. Interior a little dark but well appointed. In need of an update. Service was excellent. Some problem in the bar area. The mixed drinks I ordered were undrinkable and the substitute not very good.
2 of the 3 steaks were delicious and one had thick tough tendons running thru the center if the steak- very surprising for a $61 steak. The waiter and management offered a new meal and were very nice but still was disappointing that it happened at all.
Service was slow, waiter forgot parts of our order, it was crowded. Food was as expected, but wish service was better
Went to Morton’s for Vday Food was awful steak was over cooked. The sides were flavorless and under cooked. I don’t know if it was because of the Holiday and huge crowd but I wouldn’t revisit this location
Valentines
Valentine’s Day was great. The server was courteous and attentive. Host and hostess were pleasant. They constantly refilled our waters. Valet parking is $9
Great service
The Fillet was ok--but at this price point should be better-same with the wedge. Iced tea wasn't great either. Service was friendly and prompt from everyone including wait staff.
I have been dining at Morton's in Georgetown for years and almost always have an excellent experience. My most recent meal was no exception in terms of fine food, service and atmosphere. It was a very quiet evening, so perfect for catching up with an old friend who was in town on business.
My only advice for wine drinkers is to choose with care. Mark ups on some of your favorites have climbed to about 400%. A wine list like that might just turn me into a tea totaler.
The welcoming service was wonderful. The table service, however, was rushed and fell short. For instance, when they brought my steak plate, they shoved it pushing another plate instead of making space and placing it in front of me. This is not what I expected from this restaurant. The bill was brought and the waiter kept on coming to collect it before we were even finished with our dessert. They have the right idea but poor delivery—they need to teach the staff about service and good etiquette. The steak was delicious but the side dishes were a lump of spinach in some creamy sauce—presentation was disappointing. Flavor of the side dish were questionable but the steak was perfect. I can’t give it a 5 stars but I would recommend it.
Waiter was a little pushy....
Same quality Morton products, good old style service, but not so special combined experience to merit $100 per person tab.
Went to Morton's for restaurant week and loved it!!
Great food and excellent service!
Very good meat
Terrible side dish..
Very good meat is worth it, but overall very expensive
The food, server, and bartender were outstanding! I only have two complaints. I requested a personalized menu and even called to confirm they had all the information they needed. The menu was not ready at arrival and I had to ask the waiter for it after we ordered. It ruined the surprise to the birthday boy. Also we couldn't find the valet. When we did he said my mini van was too big for him to park? Really?!
Everyone had a fabulous dinner except me! Mine was delicious until the main course. My steak was more medium rare than medium and the lobster was just past raw. I asked both to cooked a little more. At that kind of steakhouse it should be perfect! They took them back to the kitchen and cooked them to death! The lobster was already small and shrunk to 3 bites and the steak was well done and tasted dry!! Maybe the chefs were offended by my sending them back!! Like I said at this level of restaurant I should not have to worry about sending back a meal to get it right! (Also the fries tasted like the oil in the fryer was old.)
Meat was dry service was poor
I don’t eat steak often. The fillet was very good. I thought the price was crazy high but perhaps I’m out of touch with that aspect. Had a good time.
Christmas. Service was rough. Food very good. Too much for the service. Still gave good tip b/c christmas eve
Food was good. Wonderful service. However, they had packed in so many tables there was no room for people to walk by. We had to move our chairs such waiters to walk by. Even then, they were brushing our hairs, shoulders as they walk by. Really not pleasant.
Great steaks and oysters and martinis and we were able to make a last minute reservation in Georgetown. Service was nice. Good meal with relatives in from out of town.
Absolutely incredible. Good was perfect, and the service was even better. One of the best dining experiences I've had in DC.
This place was spectacular. This was my opinion before someone explained the legend of Morton's Steakhouse. The service was incredibly appropriate; the waiters were polite, engaging, and very attentive. The food was divine: great temperature, great pairing, large sides for the table, and tasty.
