Morton's The Steakhouse - Georgetown Ratings and Reviews
Mortons provided a wonderful atmosphere and fine menu for a special birthday celebration. I made the reservation for my significant other and myself on Open Table, and left a note indicating that it my guest's birthday and inquiring as to whether they had any special birthday dessert. Mortons' response to that note was amazing. My friend was greeted with a "Happy Birthday, sir," and the dessert we ordered was provided with a birthday candle and staff singing of Happy Birthday. In addition, the manager took a picture of the two of us at our table, and presented it in a frame signed by all the staff at the end of our evening. The food and service was superb, to boot. I highly recommend Mortons for a special occasion.
Expected a fabulous steak and was disappointed. Onion rings weren't as good as typically found in an upscale steakhouse. I will say the wedge salad might have been one of the best I've had. More disappointment with our cheesecake. It was flavorless and pasty...couldn't eat it. So for $ 200.00 two guests can enjoy a glass of wine and a salad!
Quite possibly the most disappointing special occasion dining experience I've ever had. Exclusivity has been sacrificed for chain ubiquity and quality is the victim. The dry aged beef has been replaced with very expensive and over-priced cuts of meat that aren't cooked to perfection the first time (this is the business you're in right?). I wouldn't recommend it.
We had to wait a half hour beyond our reservation time until we were seated. At other Morton's the management would apologize and offer up a free apetizer or desert but at this one they acted like we should be happy just to get a table. For the amount of money they charge you expect top notch service, not attitude.
I recently visited two other steakhouses, Manny's in Minneapolis and Shula's in Indianapolis, and found the 24 oz porterhouse cooked to perfection at all three establishments. The only problem with the porterhouse at Morton's was there was no flavor. I'm not one to put A1, Ketchup, or any other sauce or condiments on my steak. I expect the cook to add their touch of seasoning when cooking it. Looking past the bland steak it was Valentine's Day and Morton's was very busy yet the waiter's treated my wife and I as though we were the only ones there. There table we were seated at was a folding table placed in what appeared to be the usual walk-way to the tables around us. I assume it was to accommidate the large influx of customers that night.
We had a great time in Georgetown. Service provided by our waiter Marcus, who worked extremely hard, and the rest of the team was first class. Food and drinks were tremendous; the highest quality across the board. I can't think of one item that didn't meet or surpass expectations. Thing we treasured most was the four of us were not rushed and had a great evening of fine dining. Thanks for the great experience and we'll see you again.
Steaks were as expected, very good. Highlight and difference maker was the service, which was excellent. Enjoyed our waiter and other attendants were very accommodating as well. We appreciated our wine choices as well. Went for an anniversary dinner so it was a treat for us, as we cannot spend this much for dining out on any regular basis.
This was my first experience dining at Morton's and I could not have asked for a better meal. It was NYE so it was probably busier than usual; however, it was not too loud or crowded. The staff was extremely attentive to my boyfriend and me, the menu presentation was excellent and our order was perfect. I wish our table had been a little more private, but we did have a great view of the kitchen! The food was prepared exactly how we asked and the portions were surprisingly large. My boyfriend's steak was 16oz(!) and the chilean sea bass I ordered was cooked to PERFECTION! It was the best meal I've ever had. The food was pricey, especially for a 26 year old; however, it was worth every penny. I recommend Morton's to everyone I talk to!
worst experience! seated 40 mins after time of reservation, so what was the point of even making the reservation!? Front desk...poor customer service. While waiting offered us water and when there was 2 glasses extra, waitress just poured water back into pitcher right there in front of us! How unprofessional! By the time we were seated after a lame excuse from the manager all of us were already hungry and thought the food would atleast compensate, nothing special at all! To wait 10-15 mins. with a reservation would have been acceptable but 40 mins. w/ a reservation, LUDACRIS! For the money you are paying, you can get this food anywhere! It was not even delicious at all! Would definitely not come back or refer anyone this place!
Outstanding on every level -- from the valet parking, gracious service, delicious food and mouthj-watering steak cooked to perfection, delicious dessert, and fine bar! Even the framed keerpsake photo was a cut above what you'd expect! We had a wonderful time.
I love steakhouses, and Morton's continues to the the best overall - consistently great food and always great service. This location in Georgetown is exceptional, as it feels intimate, and is in a great shopping and nightlife area.
The steaks were amazing in sixe, selection, and being cooked to perfection. The service was spot-on, and the sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. Dessert was worth every calorie.
I hadn't been to this Morton's location in a while, but it is now my favorite one, and I will choose it first of all steakhouses.
I felt that as a party of two two women, we were treated with less respect and received a lower level of service than parties which were all male or included males. Twice the Maitre d tried to seat men who arrived after us before us (and we had reservations) and the hostess did little to inform him. He addressed other parties with reservations by name but not us. Our server did not give us the steak and seafood special menu which were given to the guests at the adjoining tables. Had we ordered from it, out dinner bill would have been nearly half. The plastic covered meat tray for display may have worked years ago but just seems old now...Higher priced than some other high end steak houses without the accompanying rewards.
Standards seem to be coming down. Food not made as requested. Appetizer Lobster Bisque was well below average. Ordered lamb chops which was too fatty and not cooked as requested. They could not remake another because Manager stated that chops were all frozen. But he did agree that their chops are on the fatty side. Was offered steak on the house but that was also poorly executed. Came out very well done even though I had requested medium plus. Had wasted too much time to complain further. Entire dining experience to celebrate husband's birthday was ruined. I think I am officially done with Mortons. I must say that the Manager tried his best and was concerned about our well being. However, I think the cooking staff needs retraining.
