Morton's The Steakhouse - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
Decent meal, but “small” side portions for $13.
Sides came out after steak and 1/2 way thru main meal.
They were apologetic.
Nice Wedge Salad and apps. They need a dress code. Saturday night and many diners with tee shirts and flip flops and gym shorts. Collars and closed shoes maybe?
My Cajun rib eye was awesome, a little spicy and full of flavor, the truffle fries were very good too. My complaint : “jumbo” shrimp cocktail was not very “jumbo” and they were over cooked, the tomatoe onion salad should not have been served, the tomato was not ripe, the tomatoes should be red and juicy.
The food was good but as someone who visits a lot of high-end steak restaurants, I would say this would not be in my top three. Service was sub par, and I didn’t care for the dining environment for a high-end steak restaurant, too noisy and too much going on to be able to focus on your own conversation at your table.
Enjoyed our meal but it was early 530pm rev and the music was way to loud during our business dinner, i know its S FL but it was a bit much. Food was good overall but 3 of us got the Mix Grill and the shrimp came out way overdone (steak was great and well as scallops). Drinks were on point and Service was really good. Overall for the price it is my opinion that all of the food should be spot on.
This was my second time dining at this restaurant. Morton’s steaks are positively the best you’ll ever find! I normally must have A-1 sauce with any steak. But Morton’s steaks are so outstanding that they’re great just the way they’re served. I don’t feel the need to add anything extra. On another note, when I made my reservation I informed Morton’s that we were celebrating my friend’s birthday. So I requested he be served a piece of cake after our meal and they happily complied. But in addition to that, to our surprise, at the top of both our menus it said, “Happy Birthday Brian.” What a nice touch!!
Besides being outrageously overpriced compared with other top steak houses, our waiter "conveniently" forgot to give us the menus for the prix fixe ($37) dinner. We ordered the prix fixe; onion soup was sent back (unedible), lobster "bisque" was like dish water, salad was ok, the filet was chewy, and not up to a good steak house. Dessert? How do you run out of chocolate mousse at 7 PM? Creme brulee was poor. Overall, would not return under current management.
Incidentally, parking situation is difficult at best, and horrific for handicapped patrons. You have to move your valet stand neared the entrance.
We had the labor day promotion for Select members and it was a great value. Everything was cooked perfectly and the wine in the promotion was surprisingly excellent. Our Bartender, she was also excellent. I have a Morton's near me that is so so, but enjoy this one!
The service was so bad, We could not believe we were eating at what is supposed to be a high end restaurant
Our server got lost for 30 minutes at a time, brought us drinks in broken glasses, , did not bring any of the added vegetables with the meal and then got list again.
The only thing worse was the managers attitude who supported his server, despite the above
Well never go back
There are too many other quality restaurants that treat you like real customers
Went for Crave - GFL menu. I had the lobster bisque, 8 oz Filet Mignon with creamed spinach, and the chocolate molten cake 😋🤤 Husband had onion soup, 16 oz double pork chop w/ sour cream mashed potatoes and Creme Brûlée. Husband used to be a chef for the casinos in Atlantic City when it was happening; so he knows his food! The timing of the entrees was perfect. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We both didn't have to use salt or pepper and that never happens! He usually doesn't like creamed spinach but he tasted it and was impressed; went back for more. It was a perfect bechamel with just right hint of nutmeg. Both cuts of meat were perfectly cooked to order! Wouldn't hesitate eating here again! Only negative was on the "open table app" it wouldn't let me put in that it was our Anniversary! It kept saying try back later!
I had never been to Morton's but often eat Flemings Council Oak or Charleys. I am in love with Morton's now as well. Trying to stay away from red meat over my birthday I opted for the salmon and it was the most amazing piece I've ever had. The lava cake was deliciously rich. The carrot cake topped only by a friend's homemade carrot cake.
Lobster night at Morton's was probably not the best idea for a quiet birthday dinner this past Friday. The restaurant was packed, and the staff did their best to keep up with the onslaught of hungry diners there for the lobster. Our food was rushed and poor at the first effort but the manager came by and the second effort was much better. Middling marks due to many factors across the board for what is normally a very good restaurant
The Lobster was steamed perfectly. The baked potato was nice and split perfectly. Our service by Joe was excellent, however, we did feel that he was being pushed by management to get everything to us very quickly in an effort to move us out of the restaurant. We had a 6 p.m. reservation and they really wanted to turn the tables. We were out the front door by 7:37 p.m. with a $173 plus bill for 2 persons. The assistants were removing items from in front of us before we had completed our plates. It made things seem very hectic and as if the next guest coming in was going to be far more important than we were? It was a little noisy in our section. Would have liked about 15 - 20 more minutes to relax, have dessert and actually enjoy a cup of coffee.
We had awesome service. My husbands ribeye was cooked perfectly. I took advantage of the summer set menu and it was a great deal. Always a good time here. They did not have any clean martini glasses on a busy Saturday night so was served in a champagne glass which was kind of odd but that was the only thing less than perfect. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a high end steakhouse.
