Morton's The Steakhouse - Ft. Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
I really wanted to like this place. I was excited to take my suegra out for a nice dinner. There are definitely mixed reviews but, I always like to try things out on my own.
For starters, the bread they bring out to you when you get there was dry and hard. It looked so good on the table but, def didn't taste that way. Same with the appetizers and meals we ordered, plated beautifully but, the flavor just wasn't there. I was also kind of disappointed that none of the meals came with sides. You had to order sides for the table. We all ordered different things and have different food tastes so we ended up having to settle on two sides because each side is $13. I was expecting these sides to be bigger. Another disappointment. My favorite thing was the molten lava cake and ice cream which was so delicious.
The service was decent. I liked that they gave us a complimentary photo with the Morton's logo on the frame. The wine cellar they have at the entrance serves for a nice backdrop for a photo. For how expensive this restaurant is I was expecting a bomb meal and I just didn't get that. I'd like to go back for the happy hour.
We went for dinner for a special occasion. It was my girlfriend Birthday.
What a nice surprise ! They made a special menu with her name on it.
Food was outstanding, service was excellent. ! Nice , quiet environment.
They took our picture and few minutes later they gave us a framed picture with a Happy Birthday note and even the Birthday cake was a compliment from the restaurant.
They really made our evening very special. It was a great experience.
We will recommend Morton's The Steakhouse Ft Lauderdale for everybody.
We will be visiting again soon.
Thank you again !
We chose Mortens for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The atmosphere was friendly, the restaurant was beautiful, the food was excellent, but the service was superior. We have a child with pretty high functioning autism (17 years old), yet still challenging at times when we dine out. Our server went out of his way to treat him like any other child—accommodated his special food needs and took the time to talk TO him and made our son comfortable, which doesn’t always happen in this world. Thank you to Brian, who made our dining experience a relaxed and special evening!
For the price you pay at Morton's the service was just ok. I needed to keep track of my waitress
so that she would not disappear for long periods of time. The food was ok but not worthy of the price charged and in fact on e of the meals had to be returned because it was not fully cooked. Having business friends in from Europe this did not impress them very much. Next time I will look to alternative options.
As always Morton’s delivers a high quality meal, especially if you like steak or seafood. The always cook their steaks to perfection and offer a wide variety of bone in cuts. The side dishes and appetizers are also very good and I am always impressed by any restaurant that serves both High west whiskey and Stella beer.
We have been to Morton's Fort Lauderdale for many years. As we enter, the reception area is aware of "our " table. We usually stop in the bar, where the service people recognize us; if they are not terribly busy, they stop by and chat with us.
We usually request a certain server, who knows us well. We are always addressed by our names, giving us a friendly attitude.
Service is very good - the manager and server stop by to check if everything is good; not too much, not too little.
Even the valet is very friendly.
This restaurant is certainly rated quite high with us. I feel certain that anyone who tries it will agree.
after a 40 minute wait my steak arrived over cooked. It was a medium rare that was obviously more well done than my girlfriend’s medium. The manager came by, asked me to cut the meat at its thickest part and preceded to give me a lecture on temperature. Completely ruined our special night out. The steak was clearly over cooked, my girlfriend and I were both shocked at the manager’s behavior. It’s really too bad, but I will be hard pressed to ever come back. I’ve told this story to several people and they were all equally surprised since this restaurant has typically had good management.
Decent meal, but “small” side portions for $13.
Sides came out after steak and 1/2 way thru main meal.
They were apologetic.
Nice Wedge Salad and apps. They need a dress code. Saturday night and many diners with tee shirts and flip flops and gym shorts. Collars and closed shoes maybe?
My Cajun rib eye was awesome, a little spicy and full of flavor, the truffle fries were very good too. My complaint : “jumbo” shrimp cocktail was not very “jumbo” and they were over cooked, the tomatoe onion salad should not have been served, the tomato was not ripe, the tomatoes should be red and juicy.
The food was good but as someone who visits a lot of high-end steak restaurants, I would say this would not be in my top three. Service was sub par, and I didn’t care for the dining environment for a high-end steak restaurant, too noisy and too much going on to be able to focus on your own conversation at your table.
Enjoyed our meal but it was early 530pm rev and the music was way to loud during our business dinner, i know its S FL but it was a bit much. Food was good overall but 3 of us got the Mix Grill and the shrimp came out way overdone (steak was great and well as scallops). Drinks were on point and Service was really good. Overall for the price it is my opinion that all of the food should be spot on.
