Two years ago, we celebrated my husband's birthday in a private room, but unfortunately, the service was subpar. The exceptional food kept us loyal, but that experience deterred us from returning. Recently, we saw the tomahawk special advertised and decided to give Morton's another try. However, upon ordering, we discovered the tomahawk was unavailable due to inventory issues. Disappointingly, this wasn't communicated until we asked. What struck us as particularly alarming was that even basic items like bread were unavailable. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic, advertising a premium dining experience but failing to deliver on fundamental expectations. Furthermore: •⁠ ⁠Service was lacking, with no check-ins on our meal. •⁠ ⁠Our waiter seemed overwhelmed, mentioning numerous complaints. •⁠ ⁠The bathroom lacked soap, which I reported to the front desk. •⁠ ⁠When we asked to substitute another dish for the unavailable tomahawk, the staff refused. To top it off, our dessert arrived destroyed and deflated. When we mentioned this to our waiter, his response was, "But did it come out hot?" This response exemplifies the disconnect between the fine dining experience Morton's promises and the reality we encountered. Where is the attention to detail and commitment to excellence that Morton's advertises? We were shocked by the decline in standards. Paying premium prices for mid-range service and food was disappointing. Morton's once-high reputation seems to have slipped. We hope you'll address these issues: 1.⁠ ⁠Inaccurate menu advertising 2.⁠ ⁠Unavailable menu items and amenities (bread, soap) 3.⁠ ⁠Poor communication (not informing us of unavailable items) 4.⁠ ⁠Subpar service 5.⁠ ⁠Unaccommodating staff

We were greeted at the entrance by a nice young lady and seated immediately. We decided to try the special dining menu that many Broward restaurants participate in this time of year. Our friendly and efficient waiter, Pierre, brought out a beautiful loaf of hot onion bread, which was hard to resist. The first course, a cup of baked onion soup, was just ok, but did not have the cheese baked over the top, but instead, the cheese was floating around in small clumps in the soup. Our filet mignon was cooked perfectly medium rare as we specified and was tasty and juicy. Our accompaniment of the creamed spinach was good but more watery than creamy. We also had some mashed potatoes, which were flavorful and delicious. The desserts we ordered, the key lime pie and their special hot chocolate cake, had to be the highlights of the dinner.

My husband and I specifically went to Morton's to take advantage of their three course $55.00 dinner special, but when we sat down, we were only given the regular menu. We asked our waiter for the special menu, but when he brought it over, we could hardly read it because the print was so small. Thank goodness things got better. Both of us ordered the onion soup appetizer, the 8 oz filet mignon with onion rings and for dessert, the key lime pie and legendary hot chocolate cake that came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious except for the onion soup which we felt was just OK and could have had more cheese. The ambience was nice and our waiter, Pierre, was excellent. He never missed a beat and he was a real gentleman. All in all, we had an enjoyable dinner.

The hostess was very friendly and accomodating. However the food took so long that the experience was not pleasurable. Almost 2 hours for 2 appetizers and 4 entrees. It was my son's birthday and we didn't even stay for dessert because of the excessive wait times. The next day looking at the check, I'm also annoyed that the server was upselling without asking - rubbed me the wrong way to pay more than expected for a meal that took so long. The food was good, except my salmon was covered in a sweet sauce that was not disclosed on the menu. If it didn't take so long to come out I probably would've sent it back. Overall the food was good except for the sugary salmon, but I'm not in a rush to return to the restaurant.
