Great Valentine’s Day celebration
Now that the Morton's in Georgetown is no longer open I highly recommend the downtown location. I dined there yesterday evening to celebrate an anniversary and Valentine's Day. The atmosphere was elegant the service was great and the food was excellent.
I had the 16 oz ny strip as usual, however, the steak had long strands of fat membrane throughout which I found myself not able to totally chew the steak and spitting out the parts I could not chew let alone digest. Very unusual for ny strip. I was able to chew and digest only a 1/4 of this 16 oz steak. Very disappointed!
Still the Best Steak I ever ate--while on vacation in Washington DC in Lat January My Lovely Wife Treated me and I do mean Treated me to the best steak I ever had---12 oz filet medium rare done to perfection with twice baked and asparagus
Steak perfect. Sides old fashion and boring. Service and ambiance good. For prices, SHOULD HAVE VALET PARKING. Way, way too much anchovy in Cesar Salad dressing. Morton’s morphing into Seafood restaurant?
Was in town for business and took advantage of restaurant week in DC. Had to ask for a restaurant week menu as it was not offered by the waiter. We upgraded our meals, added menu items from the regular menu, and purchased a bottle of wine and additional glasses. My medium-rare steak was not cooked adequately the first time, so they brought me another which was very nice. However it took a long time and the sides were very cold by the time I was able to eat my steak and my dinner companion was nearly finished with his meal.
The salads were sad, drenching in dressing. We had to look for our server in more than one occasion
Upon arriving for my first time at this restaurant we were greeted by the hostess and she was very nice. The waiter took our order for 2 filets (medium well) , and they came back running with blood. (No pink, the meat was cooked to medium rare in my opinion) I asked for new steaks and the waiter brought out the same chopped up steak I sent back and said that Morton’s doesn’t give new out steaks. The steak was burnt because it was already cooked and cooled and cooked again. So I was supposed to pay $52 for my meal and we didn’t even enjoy it. He didn’t offer us anything else other an “ unfortunately I can’t take it back” he kept saying that and nothing else and I’m really disappointed in that. Never will return. I should’ve taken photos, but I never had to go through this with a 5 star restaurant.
Nice experience.....Great atmosphere, excellent customer service, would visit again.
The ultimate steak house chain. Always a great filet. Always. You never go wrong with Morton's.
I took my staff for lunch during Restaurant Week, and the meal choices and food plentiful and delicious. I've always enjoyed my visits to Morton's. They never disappoint! See you next time....
Went for restaurant week lunch. Courtney was AMAZING!!! Very attentive but not overbearing and so kind. Lobster bisque was exceptional and the salmon with blanc beurre was equally as tasty. Bread brought to the table could have been bake a bit longer as it was underdone at the bottom. Otherwise great meal and very relaxing.
Great job and thanks for making husband's birthday special!
I've dined at Mortons for many years. I knew them to have an area for cigar smoking. Last week the cigar smell was almost unbearable. Not sure if it was the ventilation or whether the place needed airing out. It was a distraction to the otherwise good meal.
I joined two of my friends at Morton’s during restaurant week and it by far was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had all year. The waiter only addressed one of my guest at the table the entire time and it was very apparent. He mixed up the appetizers/starters. He wasn’t friendly and was only attentive when my friend (a female) was at the table. We were asking there to support her as she just recovered from a death in her life. I will never recommend this location and would I definitely recommend other steakhouses throughout the DMV.
Went for a New Years dinner and food was horrible. Food came out cold and over cooked. Service was great, however I would not recommend going to the DC location. I’ll stick to Bethesda.
New Year’s dinner with family and birthday!
the food was very good, the restaurant however, smelled like cigarette smoke unfortunately.
New Years eve
Haven’t been in a few years. Was pleasantly surprised at how excellent the experience was!
The ambiance, service, and food were excellent. My request for a birthday dessert for my sister was surpassed. They treated her with a family photo and personalized menu. The entire experience was wonderful.
Our server, Eric, give outstanding service. The steaks were cook as ordered.
One of my favorite places to eat in DC. Everything is always flawless!
Nice service, excellent food. “Rich Dishes”
Came here for our Christmas dinner date and it was perfect from start to finish.
Seafood appetizer of scallops and tuna tower was delicious and a good value. Steaks were delicious and cooked to order. Disappointing that all sauces were extra as meals were $$. Service was excellent, leaving nothing to want. Soufflé were light and airy. We had the chocolate one and the raspberry for the table. Most of us are chocolate lovers, so that was by far our favorite! Our only disappointment was the coffee/expresso which were served luke warm.
Very very good experience for a special event!
Just fabulous! We have visited a few steak houses in the vicinity, but this one is by far the best! And the sweets are out of this world!!
Awesome meal for Christmas!!! Took a little while to get our food so next year I will make my reservations an hour earlier. Food and servers where excellent!!
Our waiter was outstanding his suggestion of the bacon wrapped scallops were awesome. The rack of lamb was great.
The food was amazing the and decor was elegant. I need to plan another visit.
My husband & I have been to many Morton’s restaurants. We had our wedding at the one in Las Vegas. We were very disappointed last night. Service was very slow. It took forever to get our appetizers which were seafood cocktails then it took a long time for our dinner to be served. On top of that my husband’s steak was over cooked & he had to get another one. My steak was over cooked also but it was ok to eat. The sour cream mashed potatoes were not very good either. They weren’t creamy at all & tasted like they had been sitting around.
Let me just add that the restaurant wasn’t that busy for the service to be so slow or for the kitchen to be overwhelmed. This was our first bad experience with Morton’s. I’m not so sure we will be coming back to this one.
Outstanding as always.
Pretty good food. Lobster Mac and cheese was just okay. Crab cakes were good, no filler. Salmon and Brussels Sprouts were good
Service and food was outstanding.Service was well-timed and friendly Food affordable
My family and I always go to Morton’s for special occasions (Anniversary, Birthday Mother/Father’s Day, and Graduation). We love Morton’s, it’s our second home!
We celebrated our anniversary at Mortons. First things first; shout out to our superb waitress Anne Marie. If management reads these, her personal touch made all the difference. Give the woman a raise!
We had never been to Morton's before, and did not really know what to expect except the cost. For us, this was somewhat defrayed by a gift card. We were very pleasantly surprised that Anne Marie not only suggested but encouraged dish sharing. The portions are immense; we'd definitely suggest sharing unless someone is feeling especially gluttonous.
Everything was prepared perfectly. Cocktails, interesting loaf of bread, sides (horseradish mashed potatoes to die for). From the fat and calories, Morton's cannot be an every day haunt. But if we lived closer we'd be back occasionally - and would ask for Anne Marie.
One other note: at 6PM on a Saturday night, the restaurant was less than 20% full Not a great sign for its longevity. Just saying.
Worse than fast food service for a white table cloth price. Monumentally bad service... I cannot imagine that anyone who served us had even the most basic training. I used to love Morton’s, but I will not be back. I was embarrassed. We were taking out a colleague to celebrate her great work and while she was speaking the server bringing the water to the table cross-faced her to pour water into my glass. It happened so frequently it became a running joke. Our waitress showed amazing speed as she walked back and forth across the dinning room with her head down and ignoring all three of her tables. The food was cooked but cold by the time it arrived. I don’t make a habit of giving bad reviews but this one was noteworthy. I would have complained, but I believe that the dinning room was so hapless that it would have been far beyond anyone’s capability to make thing better. RIP Morton’s.
Viel zu teuer! Steak sind gut, aber nicht sehr gut.
We celebrated our anniversary at Morton's after my husband decided he was craving steak for dinner. The food was delicious, his steak cooked perfectly, and the service outstanding. Great dining experience all around.
