Food was good. Steak grilled correctly and appetizers were ok. Salad left a few things to be desired for the price, but otherwise edible.
Avoid the desserts - especially the chocolate souffle. The latter is nothing but an indeterminable mass of mostly under-cooked cake mix.
We go to many restaurants of this type (Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille), and this restaurant does not compare. Several areas of disappointment include signature onion topped bread was not fresh, lobster bisque was average, and porterhouse for 2 had large sections of “grizzle.” We mentioned a few of our comments to our server. She indicated that she was sorry we were disappointed. Also if note, we have no issue with the prices at this restaurant, as long as the quality of food and service is deserving ... in this restaurant, such is not the case.
Good: after 2 pm very quiet
Yummy steaks and sides and great service!
We have been to Morton's in the past and enjoyed it, which is why we picked it this week for an important family event. There were 5 of us, including a family member who came all the way from Philadelphia. To our great disappointment, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. we had a show to go to, so we planned accordingly and allowed 90 minutes for the restaurant. However, we did not anticipate that we would have to wait more than 35 minutes for the appetizers ( 2 house salads). When that happened, we advised the waiter that we needed to leave within an hour and he assured us that the main courses are ready. We urged him to just bring them to the table right away. Two of the main courses were brought in 15 minutes later, the other 3 - 10 more minutes later, and 2 of the 3 sides dishes yet 10 minutes after that. So by the time the sides arrived, the first two main courses were cold.
To top it off, several of the orders were wrong. One of us asked to not have goat cheese in her salad and the other to have the sauce on the side. Both of those were ignored. The filet mignon and the rib eye were salty as if someone has poured an entire salt shaker on them - we could not eat them. And the third side dish never arrived. Our waiter never came back to ask us how the food was. He zipped in and out and ignored our calls out to him. We had to call another waiter to let them know.
During the initial introduction, our waiter listed the available deserts that included soufles. We showed interest in the soufles, and although he did not bring it up, we asked him if those had to be ordered in advance and he recalled that they indeed needed to be ordered with the main dishes. However, when he came back to take our orders for the main dishes he never asked us about deserts.
The assistant manager did come by to apologize. He generously waved off all charges except for the wine. However - how do you recover an upsetting evening that ruined our family gathering?
Great dinner. Great service. Great hostess and servers.
Disappointing overall as we are Morton’s fans having had excellent dinners in Houstonand NYC in the past.
Our server Anne Marie was gracious and very Knowledgeable!
Food was great, service was excellent!! Will definitely be back!
It was a great dinner and lovely evening. My waiter was so nice and attentive.
This place is classic! The staff are extremely friendly and professional. I worked with Julissa and she was great. Luke the General Manager is always polite and super friendly to me and my guests. Thanks, Alan
Harry is a very good server. I was disappointed the Ribeye cap was not available, but I am returning tonight in hopes it is available.
These folks know how to make a great sandwich for lunch.
Great meal as always. Service was perfect.
As akways. Superb!
The food is always great and the service is outstanding!
The ambiance, service, and food was SUPERB! I just wish we saved room for dessert 🍨 We will certainly be back👏🏼
always best steak
I was here for my birthday celebration with family. The food was excellent and my waiter was exceptional!
The waiters attentiveness was excellent. The food was mediocre, Morton's salad was drenched with blue cheese dressing and was flavorless. Steak was very hot and cooked to perfection. The key lime pie could use some work, not much taste. And the orange spritz cocktail tasted like it was straight out of a medicine cabinet. Overall price was good since it was restaurant week. The service was exceptional, five stars!! The dinner was meh, could use some flavor. Maybe I'm just use to Ruth Chris. 4 out of 5 stars. I would go back though.
The food was great but the busser and waiter were not so great.
Great meal and service !!
Great steak. Lots of flavor.
The food seems a little dated. Service was excellent. Cocktails were so so. Overall it was good but they need to revamp the menu.
The waiter was excellent the food was awesome and we had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was relaxing.
From the moment we walked into the restaurant to the minute we left- our experience was 5 Star. This was an anniversary dinner for my husband and I- that we booked on our 3 day trip to DC (traveling from NY) and we brought along our 3 month old son. Both the hostess and our waiter said “Happy Anniversary” upon our arrival and even our menus had “Happy Anniversary” printed at the top. The food was AMAZING, from the bread to the French onion soup, to the filet with blue cheese butter on top. Everything was impecible. We were also lucky to be dining during restaurant week- which was an amazing offer- but even without the special this restaurant would have been well worth the cost. At the end of our meal the hostess came over, took a picture of myself, my husband, and our son who had just woken up from a nice nap- and gave us a printed copy in a Morton’s frame book that said “Happy Anniversary” with the date. It wa such a thoughtful gesture and really showed how they went above and beyond to make our meal memorable. Will be recommending to everyone! Thank you Morton’s DC for one of the best dinners we’ve had! Looking forward to visiting the NY location soon as well!
We had a wonderful experience and our waiter took great care of us and made sure we were checked on frequently to see if we had other needs.
From start to finish it was definitely excellent....I would absolutely highly recommend
The overwhelming stench of cigar smoke wafting into the restaurant from the patio tables ensured that we will never be back.
Greatly improved lunch menu and excellent service.
Very cold and low service
Meat very good and a important wine list
Great food and a very nice atmosphere I recommend highly
Dan is the very BEST!!!!
Walt was amazing to work with! Very professional and courteous. Food was amazing as usual. This place really rocks!!!
My eleven years old son said this is the best steakhouse he had eaten in, the center cut filet mignon and Cajun ribeye were exceptional!
Very good service and food preparation! The hostess and waitress made the meal a pleasure.
The Lobster Bisque, the Filet - both were outstanding!
The service was slow and even with a party of 10 they managed to forget one salad and deliver the wrong steaks despite being asked if they had the doneness correct, they seemed upset we asked but still managed to deliver the wrong steak to the wrong guest.
