Morton's The Steakhouse - Denver Ratings and Reviews
Anthony, our server was fantastic. The bread was good and the dessert was excellent. The main course however was not very good. The lobster was mushy which means it was not really fresh. The small steak was not that good either. Too bad because the ambiance was great and our server made the evening.
We had a Great evening full of Great service and food. We were greeted by the host who was very attentive, and made us feel important. The server promptly approached the table and was very attentive, and listened to requests. The special occasion menus were a great surprise. It made our Birthday Girl feel very special. All around Great evening.
We stopped in for a Friday dinner at Morton's. First, the new location is awesome with windows, views, and a patio. It was not overcrowded or loud. Second, we received Outstanding service from the bartender Suzi, server Mike and the manager Joe. They spoiled us with direct one-on-one individualized service attending to all of our needs. Lastly, the meal (Filet x2, Bone-in-Ribeye, Shrimp, sides, bread, and cocktails) was one of the best we've ever had in all of Denver (25+ year locals). We highly recommend Morton's.
As usual, our visit to Morton’s was a grand experience. From the moment we arrived, when we were handed personalized menus denoting my wife’s birthday, to the moment when we left when she was handed a photo of the occasion, every detail was perfect. The service was impeccable, including a personable conversation with the manager who stopped by our table to chat. Our wait staff was attentive, food delivered in timely fashion and at optimum temperature, and we were given ample time to relax and enjoy our meal. We were even given a personal reference from the manager to the Morton’s in our home town... Can’t wait to do this again!
Table was up against second entrance, cold, customers and staff had to sqeeze behind my daughter to get by, constantly. Initial service a bit slow, food was good but extremely expensive. I asked for a booth upon calling, they said they had only two, and couldn't seat 5 and a baby, they had many booth seats which would have been easier and could have put two tables together to accomodate, we had a 18 mo old. So asked for a high chair, they said they only had two highchairs and couldn't reserve one for us. Eventually got one after arrival. Just felt that spending over $400 for a meal it should have been more perfect. Will not return. I also preferred old location and cozyness. Service was better before as well.
This was our 5th Christmas Eve at Morton’s. We Had not been to the new location yet. We were first seated near the bar. The bar has absolutely no character or warmth, felt like we were sitting in a hotel lobby. We asked to be seated in the main dining room which was much nicer but our table was barely large enough for our drinks and bread and the view of the parking lot was anything but cheery but then arrived our mediocre waiter. He was rushed and poorly trained. I felt like we were eating at outback not Morton’s. Terrible experience won’t be back
Food and service were good, as usual, for Morton's. Unfortunately the new location decreases the ambiance significantly. Our tables were too close to the other tables, and they've lost the "feel" of the old Morton's. We'll think twice about going back. There are lots of good, "modern" restaurants around.
Arriving with a reservation as the restaurant was opening for the evening I thought we would get great service from start to finish. Things unraveled as the night went along. Food was fine. Server was nice. Wine never arrived. Consolation beer was slow. After we told them about the miss, the whole team reacted very nicely. Dessert on them. Solicitous staff at all levels. But I’m still left feeling meh. Overall meh. We won’t be back. Too many other options in downtown Denver.
A couple I know was taking their son out for his birthday and couldn't get in to Capital Grille with the timeframe they wanted so asked me to make a reservation for my fav restaurant, Morton's. I joined them. They were extremely impressed with the attentiveness of every employee, the menu, the food, the service, and everything else. Morton's goes above and beyond and they are now hooked for life. Thank you Morton's for making the other night a perfect experience. Lary
Very under staffed location in the bar area. Twenty Five minutes waiting at a bar table without acknowledgement for service. I would have enjoyed a drink while waiting for dinner. It appears Morton's was very understaffed. The bar service is probably the worst I've ever had in Denver. Another 20 minute wait until available seating for dinner leave's a poor recommendation.
The food was great!
I know medical issue do arise in any location. A patron at the table next to us suffered a medical issue. This was handle very well by the staff and local fire department.
Food was good. Service was horrible. The waiter had no bus help, so we never had plates removed between courses. The next course would come and the servers would try to take old plates away. The plates left often stayed after the next course. We literally had appetizer plates as we ate dessert. We wanted to order more wine, but the waiter never came back. The waiter never served wine after the first pour. We asked for black pepper for our salads and never saw him again. We asked random servers for the pepper and finally after 10 minutes we received some. We had reservations for the following week as well for another event and immediately canceled them. Go to Fleming’s , go to DEL Frisco, go to Shanahan’s. Do not go to Morton’s if you expect service.
My husband and I visited Morton's for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Ambiance was good, and I would have rated them much higher if we wouldn't have had to deal with the following: 1- It took about an hour and a half to get our order, 2- We had to ask for bread instead of the waiter bringing us a basket like he did for every table around us, 3- When we were asked "how is everything", we told the manager we were still waiting for our food, he appeared appalled and offered a margarita "on the house" while we continued to wait, the margarita took another hour and arrived when we were in the middle of our meal... AND we were charged $15 for it, being that the margaritas were priced at $9, 4- In the middle of our meal my husband asked for a glass of white zinfandel, the waiter told him they did not serve white zinfandel and tried to persuade him to order a very expensive wine that "resembles the notes" of white zin, when my husband declined, the waiter stepped away and came back with a glass of white zin...wow! 5- Last but not least, our left overs were packaged to go incomplete, yes incomplete...I guess the waiter didn't think our left over sides were important. Very disaponted!!!
poor service. after being seated within 30 minutes the wait staff changed and the replacement waiter was nowhere to be found. Within one and one half hour of service the waiter checked on our table once. Because of the long wait we were not able to finish meal and still make the theatre. Day before our reservation firmed up with the restaurant personnel if they had items on the menu they offered. They confirmed our request only to find out when we requested the item they were out the day before. Excellent meal but a total disappointing service. Will not return. Too many other options like the chophouse and others that do a better job of making a customer enjoy their dining experience.
Spent Thanksgiving with the family there. The food was outstanding and service was good. The GM made his rounds to ensure everything was good and we were taken good care of. The bacon steak was incredible and thanks to valet parking I didn’t have to search for parking.
This was our first time at the Denver Morton's location and it did not disappoint. We chose to have our Thanksgiving meal at the restaurant. The service was fantastic and all of the food was prepared perfectly. Thank you Morton's for being open as an option for our Thanksgiving meal. We will definitely be back.
We were really looking forward to dining at Morton's for our 36th anniversary and before a concert. First of all, we were put in a table right next to the noisy kitchen. The candle at our table was not lit and we asked our waitress if she could have it lit for us. After asking twice, my husband just took out his lighter and lit it himself. As far as sitting right by the kitchen we found to be very eye opening. There was an employee on the other side of the cooks putting decorative greens on the steak plates. First of all, he wasn't wearing any gloves and just putting his hands all over the greens. Then he proceeds to scratch his head and put his hand right back in the bowl. A waitress comes by and proceeds to mix the greens in the bowl with her hands that did not have any gloves on. How unsanitary is that? We were appalled and were thinking that the health department needed to see this. Morton's usually personalizes your menu if they know it's for a special occasion. Well, when we left they gave us our menus and when we got home we realized they were not for us but for someone named Cami wishing her a happy birthday. For the price we paid for our dinner, this was not a memorable dinner for us and very disappointed especially with how food is handled. So, needless to say we were very disappointed and expected more from Morton's.
I took a group of friends to Mortons and what a mistake that was....!
With a bill of nearly of a $1000, under cooked steaks, 1:45 to get dinners served ....!
However, I must be fair, I have been eating at Mortons for over 25 years and this was my first bad meal. The timing was just really poor.
Growing up, I had always heard about how amazing 😲 Morton’s (of Chicago—they used to call it) was. I always wanted to go there. Not sure why it took until last night to get there but it did not disappoint! I had the prime ribeye with black truffle butter. Yum! 😋 The best part was a date with my wife.
It was just awful. As we walked in there was no host at the front. We waited about three minutes. Then she showed up. As we waited, you couldn’t help but notice that the bar was empty besides 1 person at the bar and a couple at a cocktail table. We were seated in an almost empty restaurant. There was a table of ten and four other tables besides our table of four. We were greeted by our waiter after about 6 minutes of being seated. He took our drink orders. 11 minutes later he asked if we wanted to get some wine going while we waited for our cocktails. 15 minutes or so later, he asked if we wanted to get some food going while our cocktails were being made. We said we want our drinks first before we commit to ordering since we had been waiting for 25 minutes. He said he will check and then actually shot a dirty look like we were being rude as we waited. At the thirty minute mark, we left. No cocktails and no food. It was awful and Morton’s seriously has gone downhill and lost my business.
