Morton's The Steakhouse - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
It is hard to find a place in Dallas where you can just really sit and talk quietly, and this was just what we and our friends were looking for. It was a very relaxed evening, and the waiter was extremely accommodating in letting us go at our pace. The cocktails were perfect--a great perfect Manhattan, which also seems to be a rarity. The chef prepared a salad that I had there before that was not on the menu that was delicious. My husband thought the mixed grill plate he had was just about perfect. Our guest who rarely raves over restaurant food just loved the key lime pie. What a nice evening!
I made a reservation and noted we were celebrating a birthday but no one do much as mentioned it. Was very disappointing. Also even though we made a reservation and confirmed it we were made to wait about 10 min. Not that big of a deal but I do expect more when you’re dropping $300 on a meal for two. Having to wait AND no mention of the birthday was very disappointing. Also the waiter could have been a bit more attentive. There were a couple times when we had to ask for refills on water.
Excellent evening dining experience with a great filet, cooked perfectly, paired with a lobster tail and baked potato, and topped off with a really nice cabernet. The service from Sebastian was exceptional! The recommendation for wine pairing was perfect. Overall, highly recommend this location of Morton's.
Service and ambiance was great, food not so good. Wife's steak under cooked, macaroni with lobster under cooked (macaroni was semi-hard), ordered two coffees with dessert. Both coffees came out at room temperature (cool). We did not complain about the food, just did not want to bring negative energy into our date night. But at the end when the coffee came cold we asked for two new cups. The replacement coffee that came was hot and very good. Very polite staff.
We went on NYE 2017 and the service was excellent. Started with the wedge salad and french onion soup. Then went with the 22 oz Bone in ribeye accompanied with potatoes au gratin and spinach with mushrooms. Steak was cooked to perfection (med rare) and the potatoes and spinach were on point. No complaints at all, well maybe that the bread took a little long to come out. That’s nitpicking though. I give it 5 stars.
Must have been short staffed the evening I took my family there Christmas Day evening. We were seated late. Then seated at a table reserved for someone else, twice, then asked to move each time. The third time we were seated was a table by the door, cold and loud. Service was slow, and dirty dishes from salad were left on our table the entire dinner. Food quality was good as expected. High level of tolerance here usually, however this one needs to be noted.
The steaks and scallops were very good. The lobster bisque was just okay. It didn’t have much depth of flavor. I would like to see the option for a half-size starter salad as well as a description of the food. We had to inquire what was in each of salads and how items were prepared. I am on not able to eat balsamic vinegar and the grilled asparagus had a balsamic reduction drizzle over it so I was not able to share any of the side dishes. The service was just plain terrible. We were frequently left waiting for long periods without seeing our server and he had zero personality. He was polite but didn’t seem incongruous in engaging with us at all. Overall this was not the experience I expected from Morton’s. We were all disappointed.
We had an outstanding experience at Morton’s in Christmas Day. I would very much like to thank the staff at Morton’s for their awesome service and fantastic food. I greatly appreciate all of you and your hard work. My young daughters and I have been to Morton’s on the last two Christmas’ and are very appreciative of your staff’s sacrifice on such a special day. You truly have a great team and a very unique feel. Elegance, a great wow factor and also very very comforting atmosphere. Bravo!!!
Service was ok but food portions and quality left a lot to be desired for a steakhouse (this is NOT) a Gourment place. $250+ for two and lobster was no better thannwhat you get at Red Lobster (kid you not). All dishes cone with no sides ($12 for mashed potatoes!). The bread they give was the only highlight of our stay
Meh. They were busy but not full. Arrived in time for our 715p reservation but had to wait for table to be bussed. As a former Busboy myself, this frustrates me. The faster you bus tables, the more money you make. Ordered a fancy cocktail with a fancy name from the fancy cocktail menu. Spoiler: it was an Old Fashioned, but fancy and expensive. According to the fancy cocktail menu, this particular drink could be served neat or with a big fancy ice cube. I asked for the big fancy ice cube. The drink was served neat. When I reminded the server that I asked for ice he said, "oh. That's just the way we make it." and he walked away. Our escargot and oyster apps were lovely. The puff pastry atop the escargot was warm and flakey, and they oysters were cold and salty, just the way they should be. As we were enjoying our apps, the Server brought the dessert menu. To which I said, "we haven't even had Dinner yet!" The steaks were good. Perfectly cooked, and flavorful. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was also good. Topped with a whole Lobster claw, but $25?!?! Chocolate Mousse dessert was also good. The dessert was comped as it was my Birthday. At one point during Dinner, the hostess came by to take our picture and later presented it to us in a card with a handwritten Birthday message. I was surprised that they didn't push the Landry's Select Club if they are pushing Dessert during apps and taking pictures like you're on a ride a Disney. At the end of the evening outside the restaurant while waiting for an Uber, I was approached by a homeless person asking me for money. While I know this is an issue all over Dallas, I didn't expect it at Morton's. I'm sure I'll give it another chance, but I was expecting more from Morton's.
We had reservations at 7:30pm to celebrate a birthday. We arrived on time and was seated. It was then 8pm when we realized that no one had came over to take drink orders or even acknowledge that they were our waiter. The busser filled our water glass twice, the 2nd time when he came to the table, we then asked for the manager. The manager came over to address us and we immediately received service..... after that the service was great and the night was recovered. Wish we didn’t have the delay in service after being seated because food and drinks were wonderful!!
