Poor seating, table very small
Appetizer, small portions for the money
Food was good: Tuna Tower app: very tasty and large portion, Beefsteak tomato/blue cheese, enough for two, the dry aged steak was very good and had that tang that dry aged beef acquires. And the souffle was outstanding, and plenty for two. What was poor was the waiter: had to ask for bread, did not bring plates for app, cleared the salad and never brought a replacement steak knife, wine flight was delivered after steak was half eaten, etc.
Best shrimp cocktail I've had in years. NY Strip and Filet were both excellent. Creamed spinach was good, but a little too much garlic for my taste. This was a great option for a birthday dinner before a show in the Arts District. Very convenient, and waitstaff was very helpful in making sure we got out in time for our show.
Mediocre at best. Morton's comes nowhere close to supporting its claim to have the "best steak anywhere." I have been forced to go to Morton's several times for business lunches, including today, and have consistently found it overrated and underwhelming. I continue to be utterly bewildered at the reviews and loyalty to such a mediocre steakhouse.
To be fair, nothing is bad or below average there. It's just that nothing is above average or good enough to tell a friend about either. Certainly, I have not experienced anything there that justifies Morton's acting or charging like a high end steakhouse. Indeed, although the ambiance was nice, the service is consistently slow, and the food is not even as good as your basic family restaurants. It is definitely nowhere near as good as several other high end steakhouses in the area. On different occasions at Morton's, I have had the filet, ribeye, and sirloin, but each time the meat is flavorless with no good outer crust or char flavor to speak of.
I have tried to give this place multiple chances, but I'm done. I am going to stop merely cringing when asked to go eat at Morton's and just start flat out refusing.
The food and service were wonderful! Always a favorite for special occasion dinning.
Morton’s is an excellent and beautiful restaurant. The food was great and the service by Jassir was even better. It was our 15th wedding anniversary. They personalized our menus, took a picture of us, and gifted us a tasty piece of chocolate cake!! I’ll always recommend this restaurant. Thank you for helping to make our Anniversary special.
Great food and no crowd!
It was our first time here and we enjoyed the food and ambiance. The service was good considering it was NYE and the restaurant was busy. Overall we were Happy with our dinner and would come back again.
Poor service! We must’ve had the worse server in the entire restaurant. In addition, my steak was over cooked. Server did absolutely nothing about it. I’ve dined at Morton’s several times and never experienced anything like I did on NYE. I was very disappointed!
We went to Morton’s for New Year’s eve. Everything was perfect.. Thanks so much for helping us ring in the New Year!!!
Service was ok. First time there and he never went over the menu as he promised.
Fantastic dinner and service!
Service walking in was great. The waiter took our order and disappeared for a while, without notice. The maitre’d saw the food resting at the service bay and prepared and delivered it. Steak was cooked perfectly and the au gratin potatoes were good (though I was shocked they weren’t on the lunch menu). The Brussel Sprouts were subpar...bacon was undercooked and the sprouts lacked texture.
The service was ridiculous. Never in my life have I been expected to grab my cocktail from the waiter at a 5 star restaurant. Not just me. All 6 of us. And not just once, each round. That’s after the waitress spilled the majority of the drinks on the way over. They were out of multiple items, my steak was over cooked, my brother in laws steak was ordered rare and it was practically well done. My foie gras was ice cold. It made my stomach turn taking a bite and still to this day it disgusts me thinking of it - probably because I’m still ill! The sides were flavorless. The Creme Brûlée was curdled and chunky and the turbinado hadn’t been torched properly so there was no satisfying snap when you broke into it. Being our Christmas dinner it was SUCH a letdown. Not to mention they claim to have a dress code meanwhile there were people all over in sweatpants. Also - the bathrooms were disgusting. Not just women’s my fiancé agreed the men’s were awful too. I shouldve known when the drinks took well over 30 minutes to arrive that it would be a poor experience from there on out. If I were alone I wouldve walked out but unfortunately I was with my family and I’m an attempt to be polite to the restaurant and staff on Christmas Day we all had to suffer. At no point were we given so much as an apology for the mistakes, no one even acknowledged it. Such a joke. We all agreed we will never return and we intend on taking our business to one of the many other wonderful steakhouses in dallas
We had a great dining experience on Christmas Day. The food was terrific and service was amazing. We plan to be back soon.
Excellent food and service.
My wife and I went to Morton's for a late afternoon dinner on Christmas day, the food and service was excellent. Everything was top notch, would recommend it for a casual meal or a festive occasion. PS - I may not be the best source to recommend cheesecake (I've never met a cheesecake I didn't like), but Morton's cheesecake with the cream brulee topping was outstanding. Dennis J
Our dinner was absolutely outstanding. We both had one of the evening specials.
Our waiter (Chad) was very attentive but not overly.
We drove about 50 minutes (no traffic) to have a special Christmas eve dinner
and the experience and food were well worth it.
Excellent service and food. Only complaint was it was very loud in the room we were in which made talking more difficult but overall we will definitely be back!!!
Morton's is always a great experience with excellent food and service, this time by Marco.
The conversation at other tables seemed to be a bit loud, making it difficult to hear across our table, but that's probably just me.
Our waiter was inattentive and our food came out nearly cold. Thankfully the manager acted swiftly and resolved all of the issues.
The waiter remained inattentive.
Took my husband here for his birthday. It was great! The waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly. The sea bass and steak were great although the garlic potatoes left us wishing for more flavor. Just a step below Ruth Chris in our opinion but still good overall.
Morton’s always makes you feel special and pampered. We were celebrating our 45th anniversary and they were wonderful to us.
Excellent! Everything was cooked to perfection.
This was my first time to Morton's and we made reservations due to a recommendation from a close friend. The attention from the staff was about perfect as not too much but yet they was there when you need them. The food was excellent. Great taste and my steak was very tender. My wife's Rack of Lamb (which I don't like lamb) was very nice. I tasted it and it had no gamey taste nor any aftertaste. That impressed me.
We were going to the theater afterwards and my friend tipped me off that Morton's had a shuttle to take you to and from the Winspear. I mentioned this to the valet and my waiter and both assured me that we would be taken care of, and sure enough, the manager came by our table and confirmed the time we needed to leave and explained the return trip logistics with us. Wow. What a nice benefit.
This was a total 5 star experience, however, the only 4 star I gave it was because the sides were so expensive and separate from the entree. So a $59 steak plus $13 mashed potatoes made it a $72 steak in my opinion.
THAT is the only negative. So take it for what it's worth. The experience was wonderful. I highly recommend it. Our meal of 2 mixed drinks, steak and Rack of Lamb, 2 sides and 1 desert was approx $240 with tip.
Always great food, drinks and service. Definitely recommend.
We were celebrating my birthday and we had a great dining experience. My steak was very tender and cooked perfectly. My wife enjoyed the miso sea bass!
Fantastic place for business lunch. You can actually hear each other talk...
Overall the quality of the lunch menu was good and our guests enjoyed the food and private dining area.
Service was a little slow to get started due to our 11:30 am reservation, which was the opening time for the restaurant. Indeed, the restaurant wasn’t quite prepared for early arrivals as guests had to wait outside in the cold pending opening.
The sudden cold snap in Dallas also made it challenging for the server staff to control the room temperature in the private dining area. It was either frigid or hot, making the overall experience less than desirable
Suggestion to the restaurant is to prewarm the dining areas on cold days so early guests aren’t inconvenienced, and insure front doors are unlocked at least 15 mins before serving hours to allow early guests to relax inside
The food was delicious! The service was great, even thought it was our first time the staff made us feel at home. Will definitely go back!
Celebrated a birthday. Everything was perfect.
I had a business lunch and had a very good hamburger. The hamburger was cooked as per my request and the service was prompt and professional.
Muy buena cena. Calidad excelente, como siempre. Excelente carta de vinos y la carne en el término solicitado
Our server acted as if we weren’t there... terrible service. We had to grab other servers to get what we needed multiple times. We won’t be returning to this location.
Loved our Thanksgiving at Morton’s.
New server wasn’t quite up to Morton’s standards
Also missed the after dinner cocktail for “former VIP” when Morton’s wasn’t part of Landry’s. The used to pay much more attention to those who were frequent guest.
Delicious dinner always , love it so romantic place my favorite in Dallas
Great revisit to a long time go to special dinner place in most cities in US .I had a waiter who was world class - Henry .From the Scallops to the Soufflé Great experienceServing dishes like the original kitchen in Chicago.
The steak was very tender. Love Mortons soufflé. Also, they have wonderful onion bread. It was a wonderful birthday celebration.
Very nice It's my new favorite restaurant enjoyed every min of my experience from the service to the food..
Hello, my name is Kalon, me and my date recently dined there Saturday night, the place is beauty very romantic setting and intimate. But the food wasn't at all what we where expecting. Was expecting a little more savory with the food. The Brussel sprouts I ordered was so crunchy that I had to send it back to the Kitchen and the bacon that was added to the sprouts had so much bacon/fat/grease that it sank to the bottom of the bowl.
However, Our server Dena ** was so nice and extremely professional and understanding of our needs. She kept a sincere smile on her face the entire time and offered us complementary desert and COMP the sprouts from our meal. She is the reason we will be back in the future for another date night.
