The food and service were excellent
Off night. Steaks not cooked quite right, and served luke warm,; service very slow. They seem understaffed for Father’s Day.
Normally wouldn’t dine here, but a client rewarded me with a $200 gift card. I prefer other steak houses, Christy’s, Capital Griile, Flemings, Houston’s Mortons at the bottom of my list for good reason.
Server very young and in the weeds, took 10 minutes to bring two cocktails from the bar. Absent for long periods of time. No water refills. My veal chop served raw in the middle had to be redone. Acceptable quality when cooked correctly, but for $56? Ummm, no.
Sour cream mashed potatoes dry and tasteless. Didn’t comment on them to the server.
Stupidly overpriced wine list. $70 for a $19 bottle of Malbec, for example. Difficult to find a reasonably priced option on a big wine list. I understand the restaurant mark up, but cmon.
Better options available in a great food town.
To start our waiter was amazing, she took very good care of us. the appetizer i had and my girlfriend had was the onion soup which was delicious. she had the filet mignon, super good flavor a bit under cooked but still delicious. i had the salmon which was so flakey and buttery it was just perfect. for dessert she had the chocolate lava cake which was just amazing and i had the creme brûlée, it was great. we had ordered 2 Moscow mules and they were alright i’ve had better but the wine my girlfriend ordered was amazing. I will be returning very soon.
It was my daughter’s b-day and your added touches made it special. Our waiter, Dino was great and definitely made our dining experience even better.
Very bad parking..16 dollars to park next door. No vet morons does nothing about it
Always a great place to go on a special occasion. I would definitely recommend!
Wonderful food and ambiance
Meal was okay. They only have full sides and won’t do half. By the time you get two sides and a salmon the bill was $90.00 for one person. Probably won’t go back
Service was amazing! Food was great too.
Alex was wonderful and made sure my husband felt great on his birthday!
We love everything about this place especially our waitress Beatrix! She is the best!
It was Mother’s Day Sunday, And they put our table on the second floor of the restaurant, which is sort of like a conference room or a banquet hall room. The food was good, but the service was very slow and it took forever for food to get to us. We constantly had to be asking for water, and the table wasn’t even properly set when we got there, and we had to ask for our napkins. We would’ve rather been on the first floor with the actual restaurant ambience. We should have been told before we were taking upstairs. I don’t think we would be going back there!
I have been to this Morton’s before and this is the first time I notice such horrible service and lack of attention to detail. We were sat, but no water or menus were provided for about 5 minutes before the waitress noticed we didn’t have any.
The lapse of time between the waitress checking in on us, delivering food, and overall being around was something I have never encountered. Our food showed up in parts, e.g., steaks first and sides came eventually and not all together. I practically had gone through half of my steak beside my side showed up.
Also, I ordered my steak medium and it came close to medium well/well done. It really left something to be desired.
we ordered Filet Mignon and it was not what we expected.
The rack of lamb was delicious. I would definitely recommend the lamb. The service was a little slow, but the servers were very attentive. We had to wait about 15 minutes to seat for our reservation. The monten chocolate cake was superb. I would recommend getting that for dessert. Overall the night was well worth it.
Celebrated a birthday and it was top notch
I’ll try to make this brief. My son’s medical school graduation was 7:30-9:30pm on a Monday night. I made a 10:30 pm reservation for 7 people for a ridiculously late celebration dinner. The restaurant was empty. The staff was waiting for us. It was so late.
We ordered like it was the last supper. 2 porterhouses, 2 orders of king crab legs, lobster, 4 sides and a couple appetizers
Plus cocktails and beer. We were there for an hour and a half.
The steak was OUTSTANDING.everything else was amazing. The staff was efficient, kind, and helpful. I know they wanted to leave but they didn’t outwardly show it.
Excellent evening. I’m a fan of Morton’s. It’s a 10:)
The steak was ordered medium and cake out cold and rare. Service was terrible to send back & then waited forever. I asked for a manager twice and she never came to table.
Our server had a wonderful personality always with a smile. Great choice!
Food took an long time to prepare. Waited forever for the chocolate lava cake despite ordering it in advance, only for the waiter to tell us the kitchen screwed it up and they had to start over. And when it came out, it had no “lava” in the cake. Wait staff delivered the check while eating our dessert, and then twice came by to ask if they could take it even though restaurant was not busy. Very disappointing experience. Not the level of service I expect from Morton’s. Not sure if I will return to the Coral Gables location.
Decided to avoid the Easter Brunch buffet madness and very glad we chose Morton's.
Food was very good. Location was not so great.
We enjoyed our visit, Carlos our waiter was very kind and professional. Food was delicious, we particularly enjoyed every item but were happily surprised by the cauliflower mash and the cheesecake
They didn’t pack the leftover truffle fries as we asked them to. We also did not have a good experience towards the end of the meal.
Chinese chop salad was pretty plain and average at best given the competition in the area. I would recommend morton's for dinner not lunch
I am a big Morton's fan, but the Coral Gables location deserves to lose their affiliation. We poured our own drinks. We went to the bar to get more drinks, we food was never plated, medium rare mean blue on some plates yet mine was so gray I thought it was pork.
We had a very nice early dinner
Sat next to a bunch of super drunk and loud people, steak was really under cooked, bathrooms weren't clean (cigarette in the sink). Very different from other Morton's I've been to.
The food was quite good, but very pricey. All in, including a nominal gratuity, about $120 per person. I brought my own wine from my cellar, corkage was $35, on the high side around here. We were a party of 3, all had the 12 oz. filet ($59), no additional drinks, two appetizers (bacon wrapped scallops and a chopped salad), one side dish, one dessert, and coffee. The waiter told us of some specials for this evening, but never mentioned the $39 twin lobster tails special that some friends who arrived after we had finished our entree told us about. Also, we parked in the garage in the same building as the restaurant. I asked about parking validation and he stamped out tickets telling us we would get a discount on parking, but, when we got to the cashier, she did not honor the stamp on our ticket and each car was charged a full $10 parking fee. Also, the restaurant was quite noisy, making conversation difficult as we were in a large booth. I do not anticipate a return trip anytime soon.
Top steaks but not the "Best in Town", recommendable
Nadia was very attentive and gave great recommendations.
I made last minute Valentines Day reservations and got the time I wanted, compared to the two other favorite places I tried. I had a bad recollection of Mortons from the last time I went. Thjis time was better.
The food was good. Service was prompt.
Drawbacks: No car valet in front of the restaurant and there is little or no parking in Coral Gables. I had to circle the block before using the valets on the Miracle Mile side.
Design: You have to guess where the front door is. Oh, bathrooms are on the second floor but there is an elevator.
Overall...I would go again under similar circumstances, that is, if my other choices fell through. There are enough premium restaurants in Coral Gables with less issues.
Very nice and attentive waitress.overall great service!
Great service. Lobster cocktail was delicious. Great dessert selection.
This place NEVER disappoints. The food is amazing and always prepared as requested. The service is exceptional and second to none. By far our most beloved favorite place.
