The location of this restaurant, right on Miracle Mile and near several hotels, is the reason we have ended up there several times over the last few months. The food is pricey but consistent and the service is usually fine. However, each time we go back, the first thing we notice when we walk in the door is a foul, stale odor. It usually dissipates once you get past the foyer/bar and into the dining room, but on our last visit, we could still smell it at our booth in the back of the restaurant. The dining room carpet needed to be vacuumed either from the night before (we were there on a Sunday night) or from earlier that day. When you enter a dining room, you don't want to see evidence of the diners that came before...the whole scene needs to be reset. Especially when it's a slow Sunday night, there's just no excuse. The booth seats were obviously not cleaned before we sat as the back of our pants had smashed food on them when we left. The long walk to the bathroom takes you along more carpet that is stained and dirty—the whole restaurant is begging for a deep steam cleaning. Thank goodness for the dim lighting...it saves diners from inspecting their flatware, glassware, seats and table too closely. You get the feeling at this Morton's that it's running itself...for any restaurant manager to overlook the odor and lack of cleanliness/general upkeep here is hard to imagine. There is outdoor seating, and a few times we've considered that option when they've tried to seat us in awkwardly-placed tables close to the foyer (where the smell is overwhelming) or the highly trafficked kitchen door and window. However, the outside tables are not even set and less than inviting--so you "can" eat out there but you'd be paying Morton's prices to dine on a dingy metal patio table. Morton's is getting by at this dirty, poorly-kept location for now because it's resting on its reputation, but certainly that won't last. After our last experience, we aren't giving it any more chances.

I have preferred to frequent other local steak houses but decided to give Morton's a try. It was a poor decision on my part. After being seated it took a long while for our waiter to greet us. Once he arrived he was cordial and attentive, except for the fact that, for the most part, we were compelled to refresh our own wine glasses. Our major complaint was not with the server but with the kitchen. I ordered my filet medium rare and when it was delivered it was medium well to well done (gray/brown inside). The waiter promptly agreed to take it back and replace it. Lo and behold the second plate came back almost as well done as the first one. Since my wife was mostly finished with her meal by this point (and I been nibbling on the french fries and the rather bland creamed spinach) I had no interest in insisting on a third serving, so I just ate what I could so I could enjoy the beautiful bottle of wine I had brought from home with some food; albeit poorly prepared food. Additionally, the 'Steak Diane' preparation I ordered was topped with unappetizing dessicated mushrooms.
I acknowledge that the manager apologized profusely for the errors and deducted the cost of the steak and the corkage fee from the bill, which was appreciated. Nevertheless, it did not compensate for a very disappointing dining experience. Especially in light of several other superior steak houses in the Miami/Coral Gables area, I would not recommend the Morton's in Coral Gables.

The salads appetizers and desserts were good all the entrees were below Morton’s level standards of what we expected and have experienced in the past. Also we were only credited for two when all three were bad. Very unsatisfactory.

My husband and I went for the Miami Spice. We have visited many restaurants for Miami Spice and this was the worst of our experiences. For starters, we were not offered the Miami Spice menu and had to ask for it. From the start, it seemed that the restaurant, specifically the waiter, was uninterested in a investing too much energy on customers who were ordering from this menu. Overall, the food was good, except inconsistent (my husband's steak had plenty of sauce, mine had almost none). We did notice a difference in service from our previous visits, and between the service being offered to us and other guests. In my honest opinion, if the restaurant gets tired of participating in Miami Spice or they find their participation not beneficial, it is important to not participate, because guests like myself and my husband really looked forward to the visit only to feel feel bad that we were clearly being served differently. At the end of the day, we still tipped according to the value, which we did despite feeling it wasn't fully deserved. Although I know Morton's is a great restaurant, the experience was really average to say the least.

Service was not representative of reputation. Drinks were not refilled even after acknowledgement. Food took long to be served. Order well done slider for toddler and received med rare slider. We came for Miami Spice and it was totally worth the money. Three course lunch for three people was roughly $100 (we didn't get drinks other than water). I'm not sure I would go on a regular day, the prices seemed a bit on the higher end.

2 of the lobster tails were undercooked. The meat was cold. They brought it back to the kitchen and it came back ok. I've been going there for years, but not anymore. When you make a mistake, please don't charge it.

I am sorry to say that this was one of my worst experiences ever dining, particularly at a name restaurant such as Morton's. Waitstaff was belligerent, the kitchen was backed up, I sat at 11:30 AM and got my entrée about 12:45 PM. This was not a drinking event we are a week between sitting and eating can be OK, this was lunch with my family. There were less than two dozen diners in the whole place, so the back up is still a mystery. Shrimp scampi? Angel hair pasta with what we believe to be shrimp from a shrimp cocktail, because it was cold. Mashed potatoes? Told there was a problem with the mashed potatoes upon an enormous bunch of french fries being dumped on our table. The host did apologize about two hours into the event, we did get free vegetables at the conclusion of our meal to make up for the lack of mashed and other things. Do not go here on the weekend. I have to hope that things go better Monday through Friday, after all this is a Morton's. We have choices, this joint is at the bottom of our lists.

Katia was an awesome server. We were greeted kindly upon arrival. The restaurant had pre-printed menu's with my wife's name and birthday on it. The food and service were spectacular. Love this restaurant!

Best steak in town & I'm from Chicago. Their menu has a nice variety so there is something to please everyone's taste. We didn't order the Miami Spice items but the other couple did. It also was excellent.

The food was very good. But the waitress was inexperience. She pour wine on my hand and on the table instead of my wine glass. I was talking to one of the restaurant managers and I was not looking at my glass of wine. I moved the glass not knowing she was going to pour without advising me. She also tried to remove the bread several times. And last but not least the restaurant charged a 3% surcharge from the total bill because of higher cost of doing business and higher minimum wage for employees. That was very unprofessional since it was not disclosed prior to us ordering food. In addition, I feel that as a customer I should not have to subsidize their higher cost of doing business. They are a high end restaurant and could have raised the cost of their food rather than creating a surcharge. What a turn off! I will not be returning to this restaurant.

It was an awful experience. The service was awful. Had to wait long periods of time while very few were in the restaurant. Totally unacceptable. Don't bother with the Miami Spice. Will not return. Sad since Morton's was a reputable brand.
