Morton's The Steakhouse - Cleveland Ratings and Reviews
Filet was good but it was not worth $50+ I found it odd that they had the RAW steaks sitting right in the kitchen where you could see from the dining room. Essentially the kitchen, where they cook the steaks, is right in the dining room. I just think the set up of the restaurant was a little odd with the kitchen and all the noise from cooking was distracting. Not to mention the raw meat just sitting stacked up on a cookie sheet adjacent to heating lamps. Overall probably won’t go back there considering the other high end steak houses in town that are much better.
How Morton's has changed. The food is still quite good, and quite expensive, for steakhouse fare, but generally worth it. That said, is was quite off putting that our server, Bob, began to try and sell us on the rewards membership (Only $25!!) within 60 seconds of taking our seats. It would happen two additional times throughout the meal. Additionally, don't go with any expectations of a quiet or intimate evening. Granted it was the evening of a Cavs game, but if I am paying $350 for dinner, you could at a minimum, IMHO, ask people to remove their ball caps.
Stopped in for dinner after a Cavaliers basketball game.
The location is convenient to the arena. The service was excellent and the food came out within a reasonable time considering the time of day and the fact that the restaurant was relatively busy. Overall the food was excellent and we would visit this Morton’s location again if we have the opportunity to be in the area
With all the steak houses in Downtown Cleveland, you need to work extra hard to distinguish yourself among all the others. Unfortunately, Morton's did not do that for us on this trip. While the server was good, the food was only average especially when you pay extra from Prime Beef. And then there was the creamed spinach we ordered. Corn arrived first. When we said no, we ordered creamed spinach. When it finally arrived, we were almost done with our steaks and worst of all, it was cold -- not warm, but cold. The server took it off the table when we told her, but not off the bill! Red, XO, Hyde Park, Ruths Chris and the newly opened Marble Room are all giving you a run for our money Morton's -- we'll choose one of those next time.
My wife and I had dinner at Morton's on New Year's Eve and the restaurant was very energetic and festively decorated with balloons. All of our food (arugula and beet salad with candied walnuts and goat cheese, double cut pork chop, short ribs with pappardelle pasta, lyonnaise potatoes and creamed corn) was well prepared, hot and delicious; however, I was most impressed with the level of service that we received from our server Danny and his assistants. We concluded our dinner with the chocolate mousse ... hands down the best there is (and I have eaten a lot of chocolate mousse). Overall, it was excellent ... except for the price tag, but the good life does not come cheap !!
I've long wanted to try this restaurant but sadly the experience was disappointing. The service was excellent and the food good but for the reputation and price I was expecting to be blown away and that just didn't happen.
The primary issue was the steaks themselves. While they were decent cuts of quality meat the seasoning wasn't the greatest and both of our steaks were undercooked at least in part. I had the porterhouse and had ordered it cooked to medium. In truth it was medium rare going to rare in some places. My girlfriend's filet, also ordered to medium, was very uneven with one end being medium rare and the other medium well.
For a side we chose the lyonnaise potatoes which are usually sliced but these were diced and far overcooked to be hard and very dark brown. Dessert was also disappointing with the key lime pie of average quality and the creme brulee was regular vanilla pudding with a thick, hard shell.
This is our go to spot for the best steaks in Northeast Ohio. We’ve been to many high end steak houses in the area and though all are good, Morton’s is a step above them all. This place is so classy, the food is amazing, servers are great and knowledgeable, and like any good restaurant they don’t rush you. This meal will set you back a little bit, but for a special occasion it worth every penny.
Although I've been to Morton's before, we brought our teenagers for their first time after a holiday show. Our dinner started with great service from the valet. When inside, we were greeted immediately by the hostess and had our coats taken for our comfort. I had booked this table months prior knowing how fast Mortons can fill up, especially around the holidays. We were very lucky to get seated a 1/2 hour earlier than our reservation was originally booked as our show ended earlier than anticipated. Our service was impeccable and the food was outstanding! This isn't a restaurant that we can frequent often because of it's expensive menu, We walked out with a $515.00 bill for 4 people but it's nice to treat yourself every now and then.
Cleveland is my favorite location for Morton's! They have managed to keep many of the service values of the original Morton's, despite being part of Landry's Restaurant Group now. The food is always excellent and the cocktails are perfectly crafted. It's a must for any special occasion (private dining gets excellent service too).
The service at the Cleveland Morton’s was phenomenal! Nicole was exceptional and fully understood the menu well beyond what is written on the menu. She knows how the food is prepared, seasoned or sautéed.
The food was delicious, including the best French onion soup I’ve ever had at any restaurant. My ribeye was tremendous and the shrimp mybwife had we’re prepared nicely.
My husband, myself and our two adult children enjoyed an after Thanksgiving dinner at Morton's. Service was great. Our meals were out of this world. The only problem was the noise level. Both my husband and daughter are hearing impaired. They had a very difficult time hearing our conversation. I wish we had requested a table in a quieter part of the restaurant.
We enjoyed our visit and will be back soon.
The food was great, the decor was modern and well done. The wine selection was extensive so I'm sure they have the wine you want or at least a good comparison. It overall was a good experience. Be aware they are not cheap. I took seven of my relatives and paid about $775.00 dinner and drinks.
1st time there as my wife and I celebrated our birthdays. The food was FABULOUS!!!!! Really enjoyed the entire experience from Danny, our young and friendly waiter, to the ambiance to the outstanding selection of wine and food to select from. And I can't forget the bread that was served prior to dinner. My wife couldn't stop commenting how light and flavorful it was!!! Well done and continued success!
I would reserve Morton's for special occasions because it is far pricier than other fine dining establishments in downtown Cleveland. Be prepared to spend about $250. ++ Per couple. The lobster was quite good as was the filet. The al a carte sides of potatoes au gratin and mashed cauliflower were nothing special. The service is also very attentive and professional.
The food is overpriced for what you get. There are other steak restaurants in the area that far exceed this restaurant. The steaks were not seasoned, a little salt and pepper goes a long way especially when they charge extra for any sauces or sides. The service was great but I would most likely not return.
We had a wonderful time and the food, drinks, service were fantastic! Be prepared to spend some money but this was for a special occasion. You can't beat Mortons Cleveland for a great dinner and service . You will see they they do the little extras that is well worth the money you will pay. Memories are priceless!
