Food and service was great! Drinks were not worth $14-$20 each but they were good also. Braised beef tacos were a tasty app. Makes you want more than the two they give. Cajun ribeye- recommended! Finding this place was irritating but overall it was a great time.
Outstanding dining experience. Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
It was wonder! Everything was great the service, food. Overall nice restaurant.
We had the steak & seafood combo. The food was great. I had the scallops as my seafood and my fiancé had the shrimp. We both liked the scallops better. For sides we ate the scalloped potatoes and the sautéed mushrooms and spinach. Both were delicious! We finished dinner with the molten chocolate cake and the crème brulle. Both are delicious. I would recommend this for special occasions.
We came here for Valentines Day and were not disappointed! The service was top notch and the atmosphere was very romantic. Our entrees were delicious. The price of the meal for two of us was the most we have ever paid for a meal.
The staff was welcoming, helpful, and went above and beyond for my husband's birthday. Everything we ordered was delicious: shrimp Alexander, wedge salad, bone in ribeye, and lobster Mac and cheese. The dessert they gave us was a molten lava cake, so good. I was also impressed with the cocktail I had, which was a take on a Moscow mule, but had tequila and muddled blackberries. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening!
The filet mignon was exceptional, but the appetizers were mediocre. I ordered a Whiskey Sour off of the menu and it was pretty poor. The Raspberry Sorbet was excellent for desert. I would recommend not ordering drinks off of the menu
Very disappointing experience at Morton's. 5 of us went for restaurant week, and the best part of the meal was the hour we spent at the bar with amazing cocktails and the truffle fries. The food was all good, but this is Morton's. It should have been amazing! My one friend ordered her steak medium and it was near rare. She sent it back. You are a steak house, how do you mess that up?
Our service was also just okay. The busboys were wonderful, always refilling our waters and taking away our dirty dished, but our waiter was just okay. A friend ordered a drink, and she had to ask him twice for it. Our dinner was at 6 and the restaurant was on the empty side at that time. When we arrived early for drinks, we still checked in so they knew we were there. After drinks, we had to wait as they set up our table for us... which was the very first table as you walk into the restaurant. There were plenty of other openings further away from the bar and the front door.
Over all we were all disappointing in our experience. This was my first time trying Morton's in Chicago and I will not go back. The steak that I had at Roka Akor last week was better, and the service at the pub style/bar seating at Gibson's was better (their food was obviously better as well).
We did not hit if off with the waiter, not much of a personality, gave us no reason to like him. My wife's steak was not prepared correctly twice...kind of strange that a well known steak place could not prepare the steak the right way the first time, but it needed to be cooked a total of 3 times. Side dish of mushrooms and spinach was super salty, which the waiter did offer to replace, but after waiting for my wife's steak to be cooked 2 more times, we decided to eat it as is.
We’ve been to the restaurant previously for restaurant week in previous years and returned this year which was a huge disappointment. The service was rushed as if they could not get us out of there fast enough and the restaurant was not crowded. The food was cold was bland and lacked taste. Even the bread was cold and stale. There was an upcharge for the lobster bisque which was a tiny cup of soup, cold and contained 1 piece of lobster. Very disappointing and not worth the $.
Excellent! Love the restaurant week prices as well!
For an average restaurant the experience was fine. For the kinds of prices that this place charges and the standard that it sets, this was a totally subpar experience
We want to Morton’s for Chicago restaurant week and right when we asked for the restaurant week menu, our waiter became rude and less attentive to us. In addition, we had an open table coupon that we did not use because he made us feel so awkward for asking for the menu. The 2 tables next to us were both given the restaurant week menu without having to ask which added to our frustration. I would not go back.
food was excellent and the same with the service enjoyed meeting friends for lunch
Went to dinner there with some friends for restaurant week. I Highly recommend the place - great all around. :)
Restaurant week great adorable meal
Ordered from the Restaurant Week menu; great value
We went to Morton’s for Restaurant Week specials. Our waiter, Victor, was a gem! He was very attentive, friendly & offered suggestions. This was our first time at Morton’s. Not too impressed with the food. Prix fixe dinner was $44; but we don’t feel it was worth it. 6 oz filet mignon was wonderful (medium well); salmon was a large portion & delicious. Hubby said onion soup was too salty; Morton’s Salad tasted like old lettuce; not much taste. Key Lime pie & New York cheesecake were good; but nothing outstanding. Lyonnaise potatoes & horseradish mashed potatoes were OK. Loaf of bread was a bit dry. We’re glad we tried Morton’s during restaurant week; we would not go back & pay full price. Sorry Morton’s - we just weren’t wowed over with the food.
Steaks were great. Scallop and "jumbo" shrimp entree was poor. Shrimp were anything but jumbo and vegetable did not appear grilled or even adequately cooked. Brussel sprouts were very much "al dente" if you enjoy fibrous raw vegetables. Garlic mashed potatoes recommended by our excellent server were very good.
We went for restaurant week, but have been there many times and love Morton's
Always my first stop for Restaurant week. The food is outstanding, the portions are large, the service was top notch. No problem taking some of it home. Every request was answered with a what else can I do for you
It was very good. A little pricey though...
Great service and really excellent for birthdays!!!
The Mixed Grill was awesome along with the lobster Bisque, it was my birthday and my sister and I had girls dinner and it was great.
Service was fantastic. Food is always wonderful. Morton’s is always a great choice for a date.
My steak was good, but it was far from what I have enjoyed at places like Benny's, Ruth's, Capital Grill, and Chicago Chophouse to name a few. It seems to me that Morton's is resting on its laurels, and it has to up its game. I also had to flag the bartender for a drink — she walked past me twice, and the bar was empty at the time — to ask for a drink. Finally, the acoustics are so poor you have to use your outdoors voice just to have a conversation.
Private room and service was excellent!
Brought my wife out for a date night and we had a wonderful time. The food was really good and the staff was friendly, informative and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit.
