Our server, Winston, was great. Very personable and funny. All four of us, had rib-eye and had more than enough for leftovers.
The lighting needs to be less dim, especially when reading the menu.
Great time had by all! Good for d! Great friends!
Sides and service were great, but the filet mignon is definitely nothing special. I ordered it medium rare and it came medium. I would expect better from Morton's! I have had better from a local butcher on my own grill at less than half the price. Nothing special here...find a local and unique Chicago restaurant with some personality!
We had a great time.
Very loud from the bar area. Good was good. Servers do not seem like they want to be there. No one including the hostess and manager smiled. Not an inviting or elegant place.
Sirloin cheeseburger is extra delicious!
Spinach is very salty. Lobster Mac and cheese is not creamy and cheesy enough. When I relate my suggestion to the manager/guy come over to check the table, he looked at me like dude you are crazy. Oh well, never will go back then. Capital grille it is!!
Service was ok for Morton’s and the steak doneness came out backwards on the steaks. I wasn’t about to wait for an entirely new steak to just ate the overdone steak. Way better food and service at Manhattan and Cincinnati locations by far!
Always a wonderful experience at Morton’s. Food, ambiance and service are excellent. And we had a terrific waiter - Matt. Highly recommend.
Stopped in to take advantage of the Bar bites menu. Enjoyed the family friendly atmosphere in the front area. The mini crabcake and filet mignon sliders are the bomb! The brisket tacos are a bit small, but pair them with the truffle fries and you have a full meal.
Morton's service has always been on point. Or server was prompt and made sure that our dinner experience was special for our anniversary. We will return in the future. Thank You!
Outstanding! They made my 17 year old son’s Birthday memorable and special.
Extremely disappointed- service was unbelievably rushed. They took away bread before we’d even finished it, brought the appetizer within 10min and mains within 30min of us sitting down ...the bill was then brought swiftly post even though we didn’t ask for it ...what was supposed to be a memorable occasion was a letdown (had travelled from Hong Kong for a family reunion)
We had to wait at the bar even though we had a reservation and the bartender didn’t know how to make our drink...we ordered whiskey old fashioned sour with Jim Beam...she made it with Jack Daniels and didn’t know how to make it “sour” then said she didn’t have anything to make it with so we told her sweet was fine...other than that...everything was fantastic!! Food wax amazing! Service was excellent!
Great food, service, and atmosphere. One of the best steaks I have had, plus the sides are great. The prices are not for the faint of heart.
Mortons did St. Patrick’s day right. Good band, great food and the best service in town. The entire crew at Mortons is top notch. We had a great time Thank you
Great food. Fast prompt service
Excellent! Beyond expectations
The food and service was great! My mother really enjoyed her birthday. The attention to details was amazing. My mother loved the special menu, free dessert and the photo!
The atmosphere was very warm and inviting and so were the servers. Loved my rib eye steak and all the sides we ordered too! The creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes were excellent. A true classic!
Loved it. They treated my gf to a great birthday dinner . Brought her a lava cake and even had drinks ready for us when we arrived (req try opentable).
Our waitress was on point , always making sure we were taken care of. Managers stopped by twice to make sure everything was good.
The lobster Mac was cold in the middle, maybe sat too long, but they fixed it and remade it. It came back bubbling over it was so amazing.
Just an all around really great experience. Worth every dollar. We were really impressed and will be back very soon
for this to be a great steak house my steak was order medium came rare and lot of fat.
payed to much for a bad steak. Will not return
Server was fantastic give her a raise
The servers and assistants were excellent and we had a wonderful, relaxing time. This place was shockingly expensive when compared to other steakhouses that were trendier and more exciting with better tasting food. My filet mignon was bland and flavorless. The lobster bisque had little flavor and no seasoning. I was very surprised at the lack of pizzazz for the price.
Unfortunately the Onion Soup was very bland. The server made up for it because he was very personable.
Good cheeseburger cheeseburger
Food and service was great! Drinks were not worth $14-$20 each but they were good also. Braised beef tacos were a tasty app. Makes you want more than the two they give. Cajun ribeye- recommended! Finding this place was irritating but overall it was a great time.
Outstanding dining experience. Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Prices are ridiculous. 26.00 For a whiskey on rocks- crazy. Crab bisque is pictured with a whole claw. We could barely find the little clump of crab and it was $18.00. Again - crazy. And the choc soufflé is not at all what it used to be. Will not be coming back
It was wonder! Everything was great the service, food. Overall nice restaurant.
We had the steak & seafood combo. The food was great. I had the scallops as my seafood and my fiancé had the shrimp. We both liked the scallops better. For sides we ate the scalloped potatoes and the sautéed mushrooms and spinach. Both were delicious! We finished dinner with the molten chocolate cake and the crème brulle. Both are delicious. I would recommend this for special occasions.
We came here for Valentines Day and were not disappointed! The service was top notch and the atmosphere was very romantic. Our entrees were delicious. The price of the meal for two of us was the most we have ever paid for a meal.
The staff was welcoming, helpful, and went above and beyond for my husband's birthday. Everything we ordered was delicious: shrimp Alexander, wedge salad, bone in ribeye, and lobster Mac and cheese. The dessert they gave us was a molten lava cake, so good. I was also impressed with the cocktail I had, which was a take on a Moscow mule, but had tequila and muddled blackberries. Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening!
The filet mignon was exceptional, but the appetizers were mediocre. I ordered a Whiskey Sour off of the menu and it was pretty poor. The Raspberry Sorbet was excellent for desert. I would recommend not ordering drinks off of the menu
Very disappointing experience at Morton's. 5 of us went for restaurant week, and the best part of the meal was the hour we spent at the bar with amazing cocktails and the truffle fries. The food was all good, but this is Morton's. It should have been amazing! My one friend ordered her steak medium and it was near rare. She sent it back. You are a steak house, how do you mess that up?
Our service was also just okay. The busboys were wonderful, always refilling our waters and taking away our dirty dished, but our waiter was just okay. A friend ordered a drink, and she had to ask him twice for it. Our dinner was at 6 and the restaurant was on the empty side at that time. When we arrived early for drinks, we still checked in so they knew we were there. After drinks, we had to wait as they set up our table for us... which was the very first table as you walk into the restaurant. There were plenty of other openings further away from the bar and the front door.
Over all we were all disappointing in our experience. This was my first time trying Morton's in Chicago and I will not go back. The steak that I had at Roka Akor last week was better, and the service at the pub style/bar seating at Gibson's was better (their food was obviously better as well).
We did not hit if off with the waiter, not much of a personality, gave us no reason to like him. My wife's steak was not prepared correctly twice...kind of strange that a well known steak place could not prepare the steak the right way the first time, but it needed to be cooked a total of 3 times. Side dish of mushrooms and spinach was super salty, which the waiter did offer to replace, but after waiting for my wife's steak to be cooked 2 more times, we decided to eat it as is.
We’ve been to the restaurant previously for restaurant week in previous years and returned this year which was a huge disappointment. The service was rushed as if they could not get us out of there fast enough and the restaurant was not crowded. The food was cold was bland and lacked taste. Even the bread was cold and stale. There was an upcharge for the lobster bisque which was a tiny cup of soup, cold and contained 1 piece of lobster. Very disappointing and not worth the $.
Excellent! Love the restaurant week prices as well!
For an average restaurant the experience was fine. For the kinds of prices that this place charges and the standard that it sets, this was a totally subpar experience
We want to Morton’s for Chicago restaurant week and right when we asked for the restaurant week menu, our waiter became rude and less attentive to us. In addition, we had an open table coupon that we did not use because he made us feel so awkward for asking for the menu. The 2 tables next to us were both given the restaurant week menu without having to ask which added to our frustration. I would not go back.
