I only downgraded the overall customer service because of the service at the bar. The service from the bartenders at this location needs improvement. The entire experience otherwise was fantastic as usual.
Absolutely amazing service & food. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with our friends!
We decided to check out their Labor Day Weekend special, the 3 course dinner for two but this time with a bottle of either Chardonnay or Pinot Noir thrown in. What can we say- for under $50 per person we had the usual satisfying salad, filet mignons, with a side of Spinach and mushrooms all washed down with a buttery smooth red that perfectly resonated with the tastes of the perfectly cooked filets and vegetables. And the molten lava chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream was an indulgent but appropriate finale to our celebration.
Best steak dinner I have ever had in a restaurant!
Fillet mignon steak was cooked so-so. I’ve had far better for the price. Wine price was marked up 3 x retail price - way over the top. It seemed like the wait staff were trying to rush us out the door, particularly when we declined their overpriced desserts. All up my dining experience was over in about 45 minutes. Not the enjoyable evening I was hoping for. I’m pretty sure there are better steak houses in Chicago. Give this one a miss.
Excellent service from the front desk to the servers, food is delicious.
My wife’s birthday. Took our picture, menu had happy birthday. 2 Lb. lobster specials. As gratin potatoes, spinach with mushrooms. Veuve Cliquot champagne . Gran Marnier soufflé with a candle. Great service. Just a beautiful evening.
Sat outside. Nice. Went for lobster special. Melt in your mouth good. Not the most attentive waiter I’ve ever had. But adequate. I do miss the metal skewers used for the hunk of steak in the State Street Manhattan.
Great steak, great atmosphere, excellent Sommelier
A classic steakhouse, Morton's continues to deliver wonderful food and great service. Whether it is one of their prime steaks, seafood, a salad or one of their seafood offerings, we weren't disappointed. Somewhat retro/modern decor has well-spaced tables and a relatively quieter atmosphere which makes it perfect for business meetings. But, expect to pay well for the experience. An 8oz filet dinner for two with mash potatoes and a salad will run more than $200, that is without wine. Nevertheless, the food will be great, the service attentive and the atmosphere conducive to a conversation.
A little spendy but the dinner was great. I would not order the soufflé again though. Steaks were fantastic sides were good.
Best steak ever!
The very best in steaks come from those who specialize in providing great steaks. Morton's is a great go to for Excellency in steaks. Stopped by on National Filet Mignon Day and simply couldn't get enough of the $1.00 sliders. The appetizers were artichoke dip and fries that were simply addictive.
This quickly became dinner and more impressively were the staff from managers, wait team and greeters that made this experience so incredibly wonderful. Great job Keith!!
Dinner was great. Celebrated my birthday. Winston our waiter was outstanding. Took our picture. I have it framed at home. Thank you.
Cajun ribeye and Morton’s salad were excellent as always. Josh did a great job!
Date night with husband - Morton's and "Cats." First time at Morton's for both of us. Morton's atmosphere and service were awesome. Problem started with Jumbo Shrimp Alexander which was gray inside and not fully cooked. Staff very friendly and took it back to cook longer. Soup and salad were good and large portions. Sides of broccoli and lyonnaise potates were also large and very tasty. However, both of our steaks were overcooked. I ordered filet mignon, medium and it came very medium well, very dry. Husband ordered Cajun ribeye, medium well and it came well. After we had already complained about the shrimp, we felt we shouldn't also complain about the steak as we didn't want to appear as one of those couples looking for free food. We also had to get to the theater and didn't have time to wait for new cooked steaks. I expected perfectly cooked steak from Morton's as it is a highly reputable "prime" steak house in Chicago. The staff did take off the cost of the shrimp, but with a few cocktails each plus tip, our bill was $310. For that price, steaks should have been cooked properly. We were very disappointed with our steaks.
Great food and wine. Environment pleasing, overall a standard that meets expectations
Wonderful mean in a great atmosphere!
My filet was medium rare...not medium as requested. My daughter's was very very rare not medium rare as requested. Still mouthwatering good. But have had better at a more reasonable price. Service was excellent. Nice wine selection, but again very expensive. Dessert (souffle) was delicious and perfectly prepared.
The happy hour that lasts til 7 is worth it for food compared to the regular menu, but not as much for drinks. You also have to be careful and make sure you don’t order items from the happy hour menu after 7 because the prices will automatically change, but the manager was very nice and tried to make it right when we brought up the fact that our server hadn’t come by for last call for happy hour or let us know that it was after 7. Overall would return for happy hour and watch the time!
Superb!!! Magnificent!!! Fantastic!!!
The steaks were wonderful. However, the best was the Key Lime Pie we had for dessert.
Food was not as in other Morton’s location . Service wasn’t best either. For a 300 bucks meal for 2 I clearly expect a bit more then a NY strip coming rare if you ask medium and your bottle of wine slapped with drinks of other table and servers dealing whit those bottles etc ... annoying
Winston was our waiter and he was amazing. He made our anniversary dinner memorable. We hope to see him Next year.
Went for dessert and never disappoints. Excellent as always. Key lime was delicious.
I ordered my steak medium but it came out medium rare so I only ate half of it. The sautéed broccoli was excellent. My friend ordered her steak medium and it was cooked properly. We both ordered dessert...she ordered the chocolate lava cake and I ordered the bread pudding. Her chocolate lava cake was amazing. I was underwhelmed by the bread pudding. Our waiter was knowledgeable but we would not see him for long periods of time. Morton’s was not busy that night but it took our order almost an hour to arrive to our table after ordering.
The food at Morton’s is always good. The service was terrific.
Morton's is the prototype steakhouse. The steak and pork chop (massive size) were top notch. Both came exactly as we ordered. The waiter we enjoyed was one of the best we have had at any establishment. She was helpful with our selections, always attentive and efficient, yet not intrusive or pushy. Needless to say, the food was delicious, especially the side of creamed corn, tasting of fresh corn directly from the field. Oh, and the hot chocolate cake dessert was heavenly, to say the least. Morton's is a classic.
Our server was very professional and friendly, as well as extremely accommodating of special requests. The food was exceptional and we really enjoyed the overall experience.
Great food, and excellent service!
It's a good restaurant that gives you excellent nutrition and value for money.
We had a great experience! Our waiter was very good! I would be definitely going back!
We had the best waiter. Troy was great and made our special day memorable.
Food was delicious.
The meat was not tender. Very underwhelming. They did take one of the meals off the bill. That was nice. The rest of the meal was not worth $300.
The porterhouse steak was a bit hard and dry
It was great - waitress was very accommodating and remembered us from a few months ago
The food was superb and my waiter, Winston was wonderful. I will definitely return.
My chicken was dry and the sauce was too thick and salty.
I thought the restaurant was noisy for what should be a quiet steak dinner. The salad was bland and the creamed corn was mediocre.
