Morton's The Steakhouse - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was busy, but Morton’s should be use to this. My steak was not cooked correctly and was cool to the touch. Our waiter was not attentive at all. Our meal was delivered by someone else which is common, but they got it all wrong. My steak wasn’t cooked correct and cool to the touch and our sides were incorrect. Our waiter never came by to check on us until after our entrees were cleared. If you believe this, he actually asked if we had received our entrees yet. This was after we waited for about 45 minutes for them.
I have been to many nice steakhouses and this experience was very disappointing. Sorry Morton’s of Charlotte but you lost a customer tonight.
We chose Morton's for Charlotte Restaurant Week 2018. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. For our first course we chose the Morton's Salad and the Caesar Salad, the plates arrived and the lettuce had been sitting there for quite a while and was very wilted. Needless to say not a good start to this experience. For our next course we chose the filet mignon and the Chicken Christopher. The Chicken Christopher was really good, however the filet mignon left more to be desired. The steak lacked seasoning and flavor, which disappointed me being that they were supposed to have the "Best Steak Anywhere" as advertised. For our next course we chose the Double Chocolate Mousse and the Creme Brulee both were very good. Overall from this experience I won't be returning in the future.
Out of the handful of upscale steakhouses in Charlotte, this one would rank near the bottom. The steaks were nowhere near as tasty as Del Frisco's or Ruth's Chris. The sides and salad were very small portions compared with what you get at comparable restaurants. I don't think we will be going back any time soon. The service was good though we had to wait a bit at the start to order our drinks.
I had recommended the Morton's to a friend and we meet for dinner after our cheer competition being held in Charlotte. Both her and I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. Steak was almost cold, baked Potatoes were cold the butter didn't melt, and the Mac tasted if it was 2 days old and warmed up. We frequently attend Morton's in Atlanta often and never had this type of issue with our food. We did mention it to the waitress who was very nice and offer to take it back but we don't believe in sending food back. please call me if you have questions.

Had a flight to catch and needed a great experience for a business dinner and requested our reservation be bumped to 5:00 from 5:30 even though the first reservations not available till 5:30 Very accommodating. Had a great experience and still made the flight.
Food was awesome
New Year’s Eve. Not overly busy so cannot blame on this. Imfirst, we had reservations for four, and we were escorted upstairs in the corner by the closet/entrance to servers . Upstairs was extremely stuffy and hot. ( yes it was record cold temps out, but no excuse for heat inside).
I certainly do not mind paying the prices for ala cart meals on their menu, but my steak ( filet) had not flavor at all. Of course did not get a chance to voice my complaint to server never saw them again until too late, although many who passed back and forth into the closet ( or whatever it was) were anxious to deliver more $12 drinks.
Very disappointed and not worth the money. Should have kept my original reservations for Italian.
We use Morton's as our go to for special occasions and holidays--- we have never been disappointed! This is the third year we have gone with friends for New Years Eve and the experiences have all been enjoyable, and the food consistently good. My only complaint would be that they took the Bacon and Onion Macaroni and Cheese off the menu and that is our favorite! Other sides have always been good too but we LOVE that one.
Had a great time at Morton’s for New Years Eve. It was an even better experience than our time there for Restaurant Week, and our server Tara was a big part in making the night memorable. She was very helpful and made some great suggestions on the menu. I will definitely be coming back here again.
I have been to several Morton’s locations prior to this and never had a bad experience. It was my husband’s birthday and i planned a surprise dinner. Unfortunately, the service and food was poor. The orders were wrong, the food was cold, the checks were completely wrong, the wait time for drinks and food was long. Overall, a terrible experience. When i pay $230 for food, at minimum i expect it to be hot and correct.
An all round great experience with my two sons. Food was great as always - steaks prepared perfectly. The soufflé for dessert is one of the reasons we love coming to Morton’s. Others offer soufflés for dessert, but I have found no restaurant that does it as consistently well as Morton’s.
We went on Christmas. It was 20 minutes before a server came and took our drink order and that’s because another waiter happened to notice we were annoyed. Food came out a minute after our salads. All of our steaks were undercooked. The only thing that made it okay was they comped our salad and gave us free deserts. Too many good steakhouses in Charlotte. I would look elsewhere.
I waited a week to write this review to make sure my words weren't coming strictly out of anger. I have literally spent thousands of dollars at this restaurant, but have never been so disappointed in a dining establishment in my entire life.
The two bar tenders were the only bright spot during the evening.
My primary complaint is directed at the hostess and the management at the Charlotte location. We had reservations for a holiday family get together. My father is past 80 years of age and was just days away from heart surgery. He has some difficulty walking and MUST use a walker to get around, but is otherwise capable. The restaurant is crammed full of tables. Our reservation was for 7 people at 7 pm on Dec 15th and my sister called early that afternoon to ask for a table near to the rest rooms. Our dad usually has to get up 2 or 3 times. This request wasn't just for our dad's convenience, but for that of the other customers as well. I arrived at the restaurant very early at 5 pm just to make sure they fully understood our situation. The hostess said that they should be able to accommodate us. Two hours later when we were seated, we were no where near the rest rooms and there was no one already sitting anywhere near them. Some minor rearrangement could have made everyone happy and prevented my poor dad from falling over everyone he passed trying to get to the rest rooms. I calmly made my dissatisfaction known, but to no avail whatsoever. In fact, our head server brought the check without asking about dessert or coffee, which in unheard of at a restaurant of this caliber. All I could do was leave a 10% tip instead of my usual 20%, which I thought was far too generous.
That being said, we have no intentions of ever darkening the doorway in the Charlotte Morton's steakhouse again. They are not at all handicap friendly, or at least they treated our dad as such and we gave them plenty of notice and communication. Very fake management.
It was a very busy night and the service could have been a lot more attentive. The drinks that we ordered when we sat down took awhile to be delivered and the table bread was not as good as it normally is. The steaks were over cooked. I ordered medium rare and received a steak with no pink at all. When finished the bill had 1 too many drinks added on and an appetizer that we did not order. Not their best showing but we had a great time with friends and family.
The service was very good which is fantastic for a party of 10. A few steaks were not cooked properly and one came out cold. The person was told it was the "Lighting" making it seem like the steak was cooked differently and that the outside of the steaks are always much more done. There are many excellent steak restaurants in Charlotte that we will choose instead.
While my filet was really good it wasn't "the greatest steak I ever had". My son's scallops came out very overcooked. My scallops and shrimp were excellent. My wife's lamb chops also excellent. My son loved the crab cakes. Hot chocolate cake was incredibly good. Service was excellent, they replaced the overcooked scallops promptly and didn't charge us for one dessert. The staff was freindly and attentive. I am more critical of a place like this because the price says you are serving perfection, and they fell a little short of that. I rated the "value " lower because they failed to be perfect. Overall very good.
Everything about my dinner at Morton's was first-rate: the lobster bisque, the steak and lobster entree and the Grand Marnier souffle. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The Manager introduced himself and we had an enjoyable conversation. All in all, the experience at Morton's was well worth the price!
Morton’s is always a great night out. We drove 1.5 hours just to dine here. Exceptional fine dining and nice ambiance. They go above and beyond for special occasions with custom printed menus and a printed picture of your night out. The bacon wrapped scallops are the best ever. Some places charge $20+ for three tiny scallops. Morton’s scallops are the biggest I’ve ever seen and cooked to perfection. Well worth the price tag. Steak is always perfect and if it’s not, you can bet they will make it perfect. I really loved the escargot which is hard to come by. So tender and delicious. Thanks, Morton’s, for making my husband’s birthday dinner a special night to remember. The service and food were outstanding!!
I have been wanting to try this place out for the past 8 years and finally had the opportunity to do so. The food was very, very, good with generous sized sides that could easily be split in half. My filet was full of flavor. Service was on point, however, we are very low key diners that don't ask for anything out of the ordinary if anything at all. Get the cheesecake - supposedly it is flown in daily from NY and it is out of this world.
I really enjoyed my visit to Morton's. I was celebrating my anniversary and I wanted to go somewhere nice. It was my first time ever at the restaurant and from the moment I walked through the door I was treated with such high respect. The service was phenomenal along with the food. I left with a full stomach, a smile on my face, and a lovely picture that was taken by the waitress for my anniversary. I will definitely be back.
