Morton's The Steakhouse - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Morten's in the past & was pleased. This is not a complaint, just an opportunity to improve in two areas. The maitre'd / host seemed extremely uptight, not every welcoming at all. Our waitress was awesome for the most part. Our took her a while you return to our table to take our order but we survived. Her smile & pleasant attitude made up for it. She was very accommodating. My husband absolutely LOVED the short rib. I wasn't very pleased with the bone in ribeye. It wasn't as tender as I expected. I questioned if it was prime. It was a little dry. I wasn't pleased with the steak.
This was such an outstanding restaurant. Typically when I go to restaurants, my standards are as high as the prices on their menu. Our waiter was outstanding! He convinced me to try the filet mignon with no strings attached. I ended up loving every bit of it and wished my boyfriend hated his. The meal also came with shrimp, scallops and asparagus. My boyfriend's filet mignon was slightly over cooked and the maitre d served him a new one perfectly cooked as well as mashed potatoes on the house.
Bottom line: I highly recommend this restaurant. We wore business casual, had a blast, and I will constantly break my budget to dine here monthly.
Probably our favorite restaurant for special evenings. The food was excellent, but the service was not up to what we expect and have experienced previously. I am less than impressed when a famous person, VIP or regular patron comes into the restaurant and the level of service drops immediately for my wife and I.
We arrived at our reservation time, 7:30, but still stood there for about 15 minutes while they setup a table, the restaurant was about 2/3rd's empty. We sat there for another 15 minutes before any one greeted us, waiter apologized. We tried to order food but he took our drink order and insisted on getting food order when he came back, another 20 minutes we actually had drinks! Waiter was friendly and apologetic just really slow, only came back every 15 minutes or so even when he said he'd be back in a minute. The bread was good! We didn't get our bacon wrapped scallops appetizer until 9 o'clock, 90 minutes after we arrived, they were good, but 3 medium size scallops for what we paid is a terrible value. The steak & lobster finally came about 9:15! Supposedly a 6-ounce steak & 6-ounce lobster, the steak should have been medium rare but it was medium to medium well. The mashed potato's that were to come with the meal showed up several minutes after, they were really good, but for the price we paid we could have bought a giant sack of potato's! At that point they could've served us any thing, we were starving and we'd eat it. Both the lobster & steak did not seem to be 6 ounces each, more like 6 ounces total. For what we paid I was pretty disappointed. Waiter offered us a free dessert but after sitting there for over 2 hours we were still a bit hungry and decided to grab some food else where. Wasn't too impressed and that was reflected in the 10% tip we left.
We were going to a concert and had 2 hours from arrival until departure. Hadn’t even received second course 2 hours after arrival. Manager made aware 3 times over an hour and told us he had been too busy to meet with us. People who arrived after we ordered received entrees before we got our salads.
We made a reservation for two and were seated at a table set for four. Server was excellent. However, pace of meal was exceptionally slow, and my salad which I asked to have no onions, arrived with onions. Both ordered filets, medium. One was medium, the other rare. Both were stringy. We had to ask for the check when main course arrived in order to get to our 8 p.m. concert that was only minutes down the street. No time for dessert! We had arrived a few minutes early for a 5:45 reservation. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived.
The steak was good, but the mashed potatoes were too salty. The salad had barely any dressing. And the Legendary Hot Chocolate cake was yummy, but a bit too heavy. We went during a busy time, so I anticipated slower service; however, my friends' drinks didn't get refilled until basically at the end of the meal. And tables around us sat with dirty plates for 30-45 mins after the people had left. The noise level wasn't that bad for how crowded it was. Overall the experience was okay, it definitely could've been better.
We attended for restaurant week. There were 10 in our party. I have to say that Morton's did not live up to their reputation. The service was good and that's about it. I couldn't believe that they did not have a children's menu. I was told to order off the bar bites menu. We had 9 people order filets and 3 out of the 9 were decent. Due to the fact that Morton's is known for their steaks, the steaks should have been prepared properly. They were not cooked correctly and we had to send one of them back twice. They were kind enough to take that one off the bill, but still a complete let down of our expectations of such a well know restaurant. It's sad that no one in the group including the kids left the restaurant with no desire to return for any occasion.
We Went here during queens feast and even though they were very busy, we were seated right away and our server was prompt, and friendly, and the food....well.. the food was phenomenal!! We both had the filet mingnon and both were cooked to perfection! Can’t wait to go again....would for sure recommend it to my friends!!
Morton's Uptown Charlotte is always a treat for my wife and I. On this occasion, it was Queen's Feast and the restaurant was quite busy. We arrived early, got seated 15 minutes early and were headed home in less than an hour. Tara was our waitress and quite simply the best ever. Very friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and she had valet to pull the car around. All the staff are top notch but we were lucky enough to have Tara on 1/27/18.
We went for Friday night for Restaurant Week. I had been there several times prior with a good experience. It was a girl’s night, so we met earlier in the bar prior to our reservations. Once we cashed out to go to our table, there became issues with our tab. I paid using my credit card, and it was returned and I didn’t pay attention about the receipt. (My fault) The manager approached me at the table about paying my bill. I explained I thought I paid it already. He continued to get loud with me, and said “it is what it is”. All this was over $17 and this was prior to me ordering dinner. The waiter was very nice but the manager was very RUDE!!! There are to many other restaurants near by to have to handle rudeness from a manager.
Came here for restaurant week and the service and ambiance were great but the food was just ok. I had the filet and a friend had the salmon and both were lackluster. The Caesar salad was also below quality even when compared to less expensive restaurants. The steak had very little flavor and was not cooked to the appropriate temperature. The one star of the show was the creme Brule, which was very good. Overall a disappointing experience.
Very welcoming staff. Had filet mignon and was served at temp requested. Ordered add on of bernaisse sauce with asparagus and crab which was delicious. Fresh Caesar salad and piping hot baked French onion soup. Then to end it off had the made to order chocolate lava cake. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Service seemed very unorganized. We had servers come to our table numerous times asking if what they were holding was our appetizer or meal when it was not. Steaks were not cook correctly and also had no flavor, dry, hard to cut, and my fiancé had fat on his filet. Manager never made it to our table to take care of issue. For the amount of money for a meal there in our opinion is NOT worth it at all. And that includes appetizers to deserts. I would rate our food a 2 out of 10. For a nice evening out we will choose Delfresco's.. We never leave disappointed there! We definitely will not be going back to Morton's again.
We were not aware it was the Restaurant Week when we made the reservation or we would have waited to come in some other time.
Even though it was the end of the night, our server was extremely busy and did not have enough time to take a proper care of our table.
My friend and I ordered Morton's Mojitos and they delivered the worst mojitos we have ever had. The mint wasn't muddled and they must have used wrong alcohol to make them.
The filet mignon did not disappoint, however, the whole experience was just mediocre.
We chose Morton's for Charlotte Restaurant Week 2018. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. For our first course we chose the Morton's Salad and the Caesar Salad, the plates arrived and the lettuce had been sitting there for quite a while and was very wilted. Needless to say not a good start to this experience. For our next course we chose the filet mignon and the Chicken Christopher. The Chicken Christopher was really good, however the filet mignon left more to be desired. The steak lacked seasoning and flavor, which disappointed me being that they were supposed to have the "Best Steak Anywhere" as advertised. For our next course we chose the Double Chocolate Mousse and the Creme Brulee both were very good. Overall from this experience I won't be returning in the future.
The restaurant was busy, but Morton’s should be use to this. My steak was not cooked correctly and was cool to the touch. Our waiter was not attentive at all. Our meal was delivered by someone else which is common, but they got it all wrong. My steak wasn’t cooked correct and cool to the touch and our sides were incorrect. Our waiter never came by to check on us until after our entrees were cleared. If you believe this, he actually asked if we had received our entrees yet. This was after we waited for about 45 minutes for them.
I have been to many nice steakhouses and this experience was very disappointing. Sorry Morton’s of Charlotte but you lost a customer tonight.
Out of the handful of upscale steakhouses in Charlotte, this one would rank near the bottom. The steaks were nowhere near as tasty as Del Frisco's or Ruth's Chris. The sides and salad were very small portions compared with what you get at comparable restaurants. I don't think we will be going back any time soon. The service was good though we had to wait a bit at the start to order our drinks.
I had recommended the Morton's to a friend and we meet for dinner after our cheer competition being held in Charlotte. Both her and I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. Steak was almost cold, baked Potatoes were cold the butter didn't melt, and the Mac tasted if it was 2 days old and warmed up. We frequently attend Morton's in Atlanta often and never had this type of issue with our food. We did mention it to the waitress who was very nice and offer to take it back but we don't believe in sending food back. please call me if you have questions.
