Morton's The Steakhouse - Carew Tower Ratings and Reviews
Overrated! I have heard for so long about Morton's being this wonderful restaurant with great steaks and menu items. Because it was Downtown Week, I selected Morton's as place to take my mother as I had heard of it in Indianapolis. The bread's onion flakes were burnt, the mashed potatoes were bland and the steak had little flavor. I am not trying to discredit the place, but if I had paid full price for the items, I would have had to speak with a manager. Now, the staff service was excellent, but I came for the food and it just did not leave a lot to write home about.
We went during restaurant week and were treated like we were "good customers". The food was excellent, as was the service. Anyone we encountered was smiling, polite, even if they were busy. The filet was among the top I have ever had. We will go back again. Also, very good for special ocassion, like a B day...they make you feel special.
We took advantage of the "Restaurant Specials" week and celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary!! My husband has wanted to try Morton's for a long time because of the name sake! Our last name is Moreton also even though is spelled differently. We loved every moment we experienced from the gentleman seating me in the chair to the awesome waitress who served us! We could not believe the portion sizes of the meals, however, we didn't let anything go to waste. It was an evening to remember and our waitress also took our picture to have as a keepsake of the evening! We will be back!! Also, your staff was very accomodating to my husband who is confined to a wheelchair. They made sure he was comfortable and that means alot. THANK YOU!
Morton's is a great steakhouse, and their restaurant week menu is typically one of the best deals from participating restaurants because you get a four-course meal for less than the price of their standard singl-cut filet mignon. The only thing...you have to remember to ask for the restaurant week (special) menu to get the "deal" because they only give you their original menu.
The garlic mashed potatoes were only so-so in flavor and texture. Seemed a bit on the gritty side. That is pretty much the only downside I could find.
The wine selection was excellent.
Our server did a great job of recommending wine and food selections.
The onion soup was simply amazing. Neither my wife nor I could believe how great it was. It was unlike any soup I had had before. The finish was so clean and not overly salty or, well, oniony. The broth had so much flavor! I would come back for this alone!
We typically go to Jeff Ruby's Waterfront, but decided to cross the river and try something new. We were not disappointed. Our wait staff was very friendly. Our meal took about 2 hours, which is what I would expect.
way too noisy was there for a romantic intimate dinner and couldn't hear my husband across the table
had to plow through crowded bar to get to table
service the best we have had in KY
lobster bisque poorly seasoned and tasteless, waitress addressed immediately
My wife and i started going to Mortons for special occasions nine years ago. We usually visit at least once a year, and it is always a night to remember. The staff is the most professional you will find in any restaurant. They are the second biggest reason why we return, with the food being the first. Mortons has the best steak in town, and the Lava cake is something you shouldn't miss either. Don't be fooled by others that claim to be "Cincinnati's best".
Before I decided to make a reservation at Morton's, I did my research. The restaurant seemed to have earned great reviews, so I decided to take my fiance there for his birthday dinner. I requested a private table with a view, and they went above and beyond for my fiance's birthday. They placed extra candles on the table for a romantic ambiance, the view was incredible, and our table was in a quiet room with only two other tables. The service was out of this world and they food was to die for. I am shocked to say, but their steak definitely tops Jeff Ruby's, as does the service. I would recommend Morton's for a special occasion or romantic dinner over anyone!!
They were out of what we wanted at 7:30 and the desert we ordered when we ordered our main meal came 40 minutes after we were done with or main meal or around two hours after we ordered it. Frankly, the cost is no where near the value with this kind of service. America has great beef and you don't really need to go to a place like this to get it.
One of the best restaurants we have eaten in. Service fantastic and the entire staff went overboard to be sure we were pleased. Noise level very quiet despite street musicians that disturbed us the prior evening. Would recommend this restaurant to any one searching for outstanding meal. Price higher than others but value far greater.
Overall this was very good steak and potatoes. Outstanding service! However, the price of the experience will keep me from returning for a long time. This even included a 3 course special price deal. With a non-special bottle of wine you better bring two large bills plus.
We had a wonderful evening at Morton's. Our son was unexpectedly in town so we wanted to celebrate. We got an email promotion which made our decision an easy one. It could not have been a better evening. Our server, Kelly, was well-informed and displayed all the options. The restaurant is beautiful but not stuffy. We enjoyed a relaxing evening of great food and extraordinary service. If you want a special experience - we were celebrating our anniversary - this is a great place to visit.
We celibrated my wifes birthday at Mortons, the service was excelent. The staff made sure my wife and I were taken care of the entire time we were there, wishing her happy birthday, taking a photo and giving to her so she could remember her special evening.
