Morton's The Steakhouse - Carew Tower
Morton's The Steakhouse, the nation's premier steakhouse group, specializes in classic, hearty fare, serving generous portions of USDA prime aged beef, as well as fresh fish, lobster and chicken entrees. The menu features a variety of favorite cuts, including a 24 ounce porterhouse, which is the house specialty; a 16 ounce New York Strip and a 12 ounce double cut filet.
We dined here for my 40th Birthday. The hostess took a cute picture of us and made a Birthday Card for me, it was signed by the staff. I thought this personal touch was very sweet and stood out above other places we have celebrated special occasions in the passed. Our service was amazing and our food (we ordered Filets) was delicious. When we were getting our coats from coat check the GM asked us if we were staying downtown, we told him we were staying at the Hyatt. He offered to walk us back through the Carew Tower himself so we didn’t have to pay for another Lyft. We both felt like we were treated like special guests and we will definitely be back for more Sangria and fresh baked bread. I can’t say enough good things about Morton’s!
The food was amazing, but the service was terrible.
Wonderful service, food was amazing they even took my picture for my birthday! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants
An early Saturday night reservation. Food was very good. Service was not as attentive as you expect from a Morton’s. Seafood tower appetizer was average. Lobster bisque was excellent. Filets were a little above average. Dining room noisy and service was lacking for drinks and water. Slow on the courses. There is a reason why you can’t get a reservation at Ruby’s and you can at Morton’s
Morton's does it right!
They are the best!
Great all around
When we first entered, there was a strong odor in the entryway. Not sure if they recently had the stairs shampooed or what, but the smell was noxious. When we reached the restaurant upstairs the smell of the grill hit us and it was wonderful. Our server, Jay, was good. He advised us on some menu items and was attentive and helpful. Our steaks were just steak. I was expecting a bit more, but perhaps that was my own fault for ordering a sirloin. My wife had a filet and mentioned the same thing. Just a steak.
This is the first less-than-expected experience in a number of trips to this establishment. The service was very slow and we sat there for 20 minutes before we even got our drinks. When the food finally arrived - after prodding that we had a tight timeline for a show - the food was room temperature. It was clear the food sat for a while. It was disappointing. We will problably give it another try, but definitely not worth the $600 price tag.
Food was great. Atmosphere kind of drab
Excellent service, they made our anniversary special! We enjoyed the prix fixe surf and turf offering.
The food was excellent. I had the Sea Bass since I’m not a big meat eater. It was cooked perfect. We also had shrimp cocktail as an appetizer also good. The Brussel sprouts were a good side order if you aren’t in to potatoes or other carb heavy sides. They do need to modernize the menu for people who aren’t meat and potato eaters. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and would come more often if the menu had some healthier options or even a vegetarian option. We eat out many times a week and overall it was a nice experience.
The food was poor, steaks were tough and the salads and sides were terrible. It took over 30 minutes to get drinks from the bar. Really disappointing birthday dinner with out the normal complementary birthday desert
Long wait . Burnt food . Watered down drinks. Should have went to Fleming’s or Ruth
I expected more from a restaurant of this caliber.
We've been to plenty of steak joints throughout the US and this is by far the worst steak I've had.
No flavor, just char. Salad was mediocre at best. I feel like we were ripped off.
A waste of $200!
Went for Valentine’s Day / one last date before our baby is due in a couple days and had a great time! Waiter was polished and knowledgeable. All staff were kind and helpful. Food was outstanding! I love a good shrimp cocktail and yours was perfect! Thanks for making our night out so enjoyable.
The restaurant was well prepared for a busy Valentines evening. The service was great as well as the food.
Birthday and Valentines Day
Great evening overall!
Superior service. Food was beyond amazing
Ambience, food and service were excellent!!! We will definitely enjoy eating there again!
Busy night on valentines day, but top of steak was burnt- not charred, replaced but 2nd was the same... service was ok. Server tried but probably new and not well trained... forgot to offer us things- including specials, desserts.
Delicious food and great staff! Went for Valentine’s Day and every staff member was great! The hostess came to our table and took a photo of us then printed it and gave it to us in a cute little paper frame. Managers came over twice to check on us and our waiter was very attentive and made sure we knew everything about the specials and dinners. He even recommended the regular porter house instead of the porter house for two (saving us $70) because it had plenty of meat and he was right! I recommend the Mac and cheese and Gouda bacon potatoes AuGratin. Both were delicious. The chocolate cake was also amazing and our waiter gave us some ice cream on the side for no extra charge. It was a magical first Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and this place was amazing!
ALWAYS a good meal at this Morton's. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Great new location, great table, attentive professional staff, beautiful bar area . Appetizers were good, steak was not as good as it could be. Needs some type of seasoning /dry rub or at least have the option for it. Nice that you gave my mom a free dessert for her birthday. Nice birthday menu, for that personal touch. Overall, great night for mom's birthday.
We had a great server and were very pleased with our meals.
It was really good
Best steak I've ever had. It was a perfect location for my girlfriend and I's date night!
I have been to other Morton's Steakhouses across the country, but I specifically liked this one in downtown Cincinnati. It over looks Fountain Square which is a landmark area which adds a great view to a great restaurant.
Had the steak and lobster special for $45 and it was outstanding along with the Morton’s salad. Only miss was the brussel sprouts which were very pale and not really carmelized enough for me though very well-seasoned.
Food was good but took way too long- were in the restaurant for over 3 hours total. General manager was out on the floor but avoided us like we had the plague. The table next to us complained and got free apps and gift cards after the general manager argued with them over the details of the complaint and their bill for 7 was over $700. My bill for 2 was $350 but i guess that didnt warrant any care at all from management. I have been a chef and general manager and i have never seen such poor leadership and customer involvement. You would think a restaurant that charges $15 for a wedge salad would have better service. The lazy managers that allowed the restaurant to crash and burn while hiding on the floor with their hands in their pockets are the problem. I wont be back
One of the worse experiences at an upscale restaurant in my life. Thirty minutes to get a drink order, another 45 minutes to get our salads, another 45 minutes to get our cold and overlooked steaks. No manager, no apologies, no one cared.
I love going to Morton's. The atmosphere is wonderful. However, 2 of 3 steaks came from the kitchen completely over-cooked! Joe, the manager, had the kitchen prepare 2 new steaks and they were incredible. Because of the first 2 steaks I gave them a low rating for this evening. Service was good but a little slow at times. The restaurant was very busy which made it a little noisier than usual - good for them that they were busy!
Cheesecake was incredible
This was the best steak I've ever had.. This was the 1st time we have ever been here and we cannot wait to go back. Everything was perfect.
Delicious steak, seafood, and side dishes. Great service and care for Birthday Celebration - better than most any restaurant we've been to in a number of years - named menus, special group picture, selection of any desert for birthday. Best of all Landry Club restaurants that offer birthday membership coupons (better then McCormick & Schmicks, Mitchell's Seafood, Chart House). Overall service was good but server could have visited table more often - long time between taking drink orders, taking dinner orders, serving dinner, returning for check. Major complaint is the high prices, although not more than you would pay for the best steakhouses these days.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Slow service by our waitress.
Went for a special occasion and was thrilled on how much effort the staff went to to make the birthday celebration seem special to us. The food was excellent [as usual] and the staff was super attentive. We highly recommend Morton's!!
We’re regulars at Morton’s and enjoy our visits immensely. Ambiance is warn and friendly. Attention to details-service, food, any needs or concerns is amazing. Unconditional recommendation. You won’t be disappointed. Pricey but soooo worth it
The steak was awesome , tied for the best in the city with Ruby’s in my opinion. We had the lava cake for desert and it was just as good as the steaks. Service was acceptable but not great. Everything was prompt but Jay was no help with the quite formidable wine list and we weren’t even offered any bread. The dining room has a great view of fountain square, especially while the Christmas tree is up on the square. We will be back for our next special occasion
Waited 20 minutes for drinks at the beginning, then had to ask for bread! My Steak came out raw, then returned to me 35 minutes later by the Manager burned beyond recognition!
Great dining experience for a birthday and anniversary celebration dinner. Even presented us with a nice card with our picture to remember the event. Great location!
