Morton's The Steakhouse - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
I was with my wife and another couple to celebrate my birthday. We would usually go to another restaurant nearby for celebrations but wanted to try something different.
I had not been to Morton's for over 9 years and immediately noticed its renovation.
We were greeted very warmly and seated promptly when our party was ready.
They had a birthday menu printed for me and the hostess took birthday fotos.
The waiter Alex was great, took our drink orders , recited the specials and answered all of our questions regarding ingredients (my wife has many allergies).
Service was great and the food was prepared wonderfully. The only exception was the bread brought for the table was onion bread which I found delicious but others would not eat because of the onions. They do not have an alternative. Also my wife had ordered the chocolate soufflé and thought it tasted strange. Their carrot cake and bread pudding were exceptional.
One of my guests is an excellent Chef and commented that he could not make a steak as good as the one he was eating.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely return for another special occasion.
Going to Morton's has often been our restaurant for special occasions. It can be a bit pricey but we have never had a disappointing meal. It is an upscale steak house, with a menu to match as well as a considerable wine list. In this case, we were going for their Lobster special, usually held twice a season. I had a perfectly prepared 2 pound lobster that lived up to its promise, fresh, tastey and cooked perfectly. My wife had their short ribs and was also very flattering. The level of noise was within reason considering that there were a full crown on a Friday night. I recommend Morton' in Boca Raton to steak lovers and others who enjoy a good meal.
Dinner and service was prompt and excellent.
Had summer menu items which was a lighter fare and enjoyed it very much
Decor and lighting has changed, making it darker in main dining room.
New 3 percent surcharge for miscellaneous and inflationary expenses were also something new,
That I don't think will be appreciated by the clientele
Food and service was very good as always. However, the restaurant added on a "surcharge" to the bill. When we asked about it the manager came over and said it was due because of waitstaff pay and for location. He stated restaurants are doing this now -- which is not true as many other restaurants at this shopping strip we eat at do not add a surcharge and are upscale as well. It's disappointing that a steakhouse like this would add a surcharge for this reason
My first time visiting Mortons and I was most pleased. Our waitress was superb and the food was also excellent. I thought the side dishes, although promoted as being for two, were quite pricey. $13.00 for creamed corn is a steep price (and it was not as tasty as Houstons). The Grand Marnier soufflé with sabayon was divine. We shared a Porterhouse steak and it was perfectly prepared and delicious. The atmosphere was elegant and subdued....very nice.
Dinner was great until we got the bill and noticed a surcharge of 3% on the bill. Didn't really get a straight answer on what it was and after spending over $300 didn't really expect or appreciate that. Would rather they increase prices of a steak a couple dollars than a lame surcharge. Will think twice about going back. There are plenty of steak places in Boca!
Our server was Bob. When we sat down we asked for the summer specials. The minute we did that, and ordered only 1 drink, he barely paid attention to us. I guess he felt our bill wasn't going to be large enough. Usually before desert is served, the table is cleared from dinner. He plopped our deserts on the table, wished my daughter happy birthday, and then proceeded to clean the table from dinner. Never refilled my water unless I asked for it! I guess that explains why he's only working every couple weeks in the summer! Horrible waiter! I expected more from Morton's!
We went because of an email we received touting a $40 meal. When we got there and asked the server she told us there was no such thing. When we got home we printed it up. It's also EXTREMELY tacky to charge three dollars for valet parking at a restaurant we we dropped almost $400 for three people. It's even more tacky to put up a sign that says the going to charge us 3% more so they can give their employees a raise. There are plenty of other really good restaurants in the Boca area, and we won't be going back to Morton's for quite a while.
We have always enjoyed going to Morton's for special occasions (Anniversary, Birthdays) as well as when they offer specials. (Lobster in the summer). It is what it purports to be, an upscale steak house. Their oysters are delicious selections, their rib eye steaks are my favorite and the cocktails are well made. It is not cheap, nor does it advertise as such, but it is a special place for a special occasion. We will return/
Host was not friendly ( in fact he acted bothered) table was too small for 4 people ! We asked to be mov d to one of those he 2 empty booths and were told they were reserved ( we also had reservations) 1/2 through our meal they sat 2 people in one and 3 in the other ! Waiter and as slow ( maybe overworked) had to ask for items 2-3 times !! Fish dish was halibut which was dry and tasteless ! Will never eat there again and would not recommend it either . Expected better device and food for a $350.00 food bill !
We were longing for a delicious bone-in ribeye after several disappointing steaks at
other restaurants. At Mortons we were not disappointed. It was as good as it possibly could be. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. The sides as well were excellent. However, we were sad that we didn't know about the soufflé when we first ordered, and didn't want to wait at the end of our meal the 30 minutes needed for it to cook. So alas, no soufflé.
I use to love this place but now I realize it's way overpriced and the food is not that great. I do not understand the price point for their food. The place was empty and now I know why. There is not any value for your money. The service is great but too old school and not worth it.
Had an 8pm reservation finally seated at 8.30.
Got food at 9 30 one steak order wrong. Food was warm not hot. Shrimp and steak combo steak warm shrimp cold and dried out. There were 7 of us and not much good to say about everyone's meal.called day over reservation to tell them one of us celebrating birthday.nothing came of that..not even a happy birthday wish from resterant. Manager could not care less.....
My wife and I were celebrating our 36th anniversary and decided to give Morton's a try. It was beyond our expectations. Our waitress MiMi was awesome and the food was perfectly prepared. I highly recommend this establishment. Although it's pricey, it's worth it.
Our table was very comfortable for 6. The waiter was very knowledgeable with respect to the specials for the evening. We had s great bottle of Jordan Cabernet. My rib eye steak was cooked perfectly and served hot. My wife's lemon drop martini was excellent. I would highly recommend this location for a great experience.
We made a reservation for 7:30... they didn't seat us until 8:15pm because there has been a consistent problem with opentable. However, seems like the hostess didn't want to call opentable to fix the problem either. They didn't call me and tell me any of this - we just get there an we have to wait. We wait in the bar and 3 drinks (2 wines and 1 cocktail) was $50!! We will just go to another steakhouse next time.
We ate here for our anniversary. We were greeted warmly and directed to a lovely booth. Our waitress was very personable and we had our own Happy Anniversary menu. It was a nice touch. The only nitpicking thing, the menu had no prices, so we had to ask to see the regular menu. Which was no problem.
My husband had the 12oz filet Mignon. I had the center cut ribeye and we shared the Lobster Mac & Cheese. It was one of the best ribeyes I've eaten. My husband is a tough critic, but ate every bit. Desert was our gift from them. We chose the hot lava cake. A great decision. Dinner was paced perfectly. It was a wonderful experience.
Staff was superb, including finding me jalapeños for a martini . Steak was not done as requested x 2. Sides uninspiring ( Butter + Garlic ). From a food perspective definitely bottom of the high end steak houses. On the future if I came here it would be for the happy hour
