Morton's The Steakhouse - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
I ordered the mixed grill--petite filet with grilled shrimp and two scallops wrapped in bacon. The filet mignon had no taste and was room temperature. The shrimp also had no flavor, was cold... and the scallops were like rubber. I have eaten at the Mortons in my hometown of Georgetown, DC numerous times..have ordered the same entree--and have always had an outstanding meal. This was definitely a mediocre--albiet expensive--experience. Not the Mortons experience I am used to. Very disappointing.
Expensive cocktails, but expected. We sat at our table about 15 minutes later than our reservation, somewhat expected. But we didn't expect dirty bread plates and water glasses ... not at these prices. The waiter couldn't care less. I was disappointed and will probably not go back.
My meal was delicious and cooked perfectly. The tuna tower was not what we expected but was yummy and did not last long. I had the Iceberg wedge which was the best I have had. Along with that I ordered an 8oz filet, medium-rare. The steak arrived hot and perfectly medium-rare. My daughter ordered a medium-rate ribeye and it was not so perfect. Neither was my husband’s filet he ordered medium well. Both of their steaks were charred so badly the charred bits overwhelmed the taste of the steaks. You could say they didn’t know how to cook steak but mine was not charred and was cooked exactly to order. They did recook my daughter’s ribeye but they took so long and they took her potatoes too while they cooked her a new meal that by the time it arrived, we were done, she was over it and she took it to go. I would go back but I will have to leave the family at home. They do not care to return.
Took mother for her 86th birthday and had a miserable experience. The only positive aspects of the dinner were the ambience, my husband's crab cakes, and the cauliflower side dish. Otherwise, other than the first round of drinks, everything took forever to arrive ( the place was maybe half full), and my mother's and step-father's entrees were cold and mother's entree was still cold after supposedly re-warming, at which point my mother lost her appetite. Dessert souffle had an aftertaste reminiscent of artificial sweetener. The restaurant did comp us for my mother's entree and threw in a large piece of tasty chocolate cake - despite the comps, dinner for 4 with one and a half round of drinks came in at over $300 with tip. May have been a fine dining experience at one point, but no longer.
A Christmas Eve tradition! We have dined at Morton’s in Boca for at least the last 10 years on Christmas Eve. There are only 3 of us and it just makes sense to go out rather than cook. Our favorites include the Crab Cake appetizer (love the mustard sauce and filled with delicious crab meat), Porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly and so full of flavor. The Creamed Corn is an absolute must have. The hostess, Sandy, is retiring after being with Morton’s for about 15 years...we are sad because she is phenomenal and makes our night so special. We will be back soon!
Food was great and service was occasional. The server was pleasant and knowledgeable but rarely came by the table. No drink refills, no availability for questions, and a long wait after the meal for our bill. Disappointing; the service took away from the whole meal.
USED TO BE a special place several years ago. Delicious foods, creative specials, good service, sophisticated ambiance, an exciting and rewarding experience... This is the third time in two years I've tried to go back. Each time the food is a huge disappointment. There were 4 of us and veggies were overcooked to the point they were hard... Potatoes undercooked so they were hard. So sad... The shrimp scampi dish had copious amounts of garlic, making it inedible. The 8oz fillets were very tender and lean, but had no grill marks and were actually tasteless! We are from Chicago and came to Boca in the mid-80s. We were excited when Morton's opened here and entertained regularly at "our" Chicago brand restaurant. I can't believe the Landry group has dragged this once-excellent steakhouse into one I won't take people to again. The employees and the place were good, but the food not worth eating. As crazy as it sounds, New Orlean's Ruth's Chris' steaks are far superior in taste and texture to Chicago's Morton's... :~(
Morton's sets a high bar and manages to get over it. Was my son's 18th B-Day and he is always asking to go to a great place for dinner. On this special occasion the only restaurant I considered was Morton's. My son and daughter loved it. All though the bill was up there, I felt that it was well worth it, and cant wait for the next special occasion to go back.
Iwe have been there several times. This week will be the last. It was our anniversary and they must have forgotten. Nothing special was done for us. I told them and then they gave us a free dessert. Not good enough. My husband didn't even want me to say anything. Besides that my steak was a little chewey. Had to take very small bites to be able to swallow it. Going back to Capital Grill. They know how to celebrate a special occasion the right way.
You can always count on Morton’s for good food and ambiance. The service was terrific too! They had a couple of nicely priced specials. I had filet & lobster tail for $56. Nice size portions. Definitely a good value. And it was delicious. My companion had the sea bass, recommended by the waiter, and she said it was also great. All in all a good experience.
Was getting dizzy watching the staff running through the Resturant, service was fair the food was good . The table next to us got a complementary after dinner drink and we heard it all , we were offered nothing. If it went unnoticed we wouldn’t have felt slighted. Paying the bill with an open table gift card took an extra 20 minutes because of policy. The baked potato was $13.00 - kinda of scary. Not sure if this would be the best choice to return when there are many choices that can offer better hospitality. Boca Raton location was sparse with customers after 8.30 pm on a Saturday night if your looking for quiet time.
