Morton's The Steakhouse - Beverly Hills Ratings and Reviews
After many years of enjoying superb steak, for the first time the food was very disappointing.
While the steak was tender, and cooked as asked, it lacked flavor. Main reason we have enjoyed dining there was due to the incredible flavor of the meat - this year it had none.
Also, the dessert - creme brulee- seemed underdone - instead of 'pudding like' consistency, it was more like melted ice cream. The service and our server was excellent.
The menu for Dine LA was only presented after we asked. The meal was very good and the price was a good value. The problem we had was there was only 1 person for valet and several people in front of us. It took a long time to leave and pick up our car. The young lady at reception desk was alone and again there were several people in front of us, one was a gentleman that came to the front because he could not get his waiter to pay the bill. I find no fault with the young lady or valet, but rather with the management for leaving them alone to take care of so many people. Needless to say the all this took away from our delightful meal. Oh our waitress was absolutely wonderful.
This was our worst experience EVER at a Morton's Steak House. We had an early reservation; but, they were already out of one of the entrees on the DineLA menu (the pork chop). My wife then opted for the steak cooked medium. The first steak was extra well and was returned. The replacement steak was raw in the middle. That was also sent back and was returned where the outside was completely charred and inedible although the inside was OK. She suffered through that and left about ⅓ which was the charred outside. The server only apologized but no concession. Finally, there was a 15 minute wait for the valet to deliver our vehicle (about 6 or 7 groups in front of us and only 1 valet) which is totally unacceptable as there is a $10 valet charge!
It was so noisy I could barely talk to the person next to me. Service was very slow. They made no effort to show the DineLA or 40th anniversary specials. We had to ask twice until they brought the menus to us. The salads and side dishes on the specials were tiny. The steaks were tasty, at least.
It was good. Not great.
Steak was excellent. Sides were okay. Dessert was good. Ate from the Dine LA and Morton’s 40th anniversary menu.
Value may have not been enough to bring me back—we’ll see. I didn’t walk away feeling like I dined at a leading restaurant, but I admit the filet was perfect, so I can’t say it’s not a leading steakhouse per food—it’s the other attributes that were deficient.
Expected better dressed clientele for a restaurant with a business casual dress category.
People with flashing phones and intentionally boisterous behavior—lack of tact at many tables.
Service was pretty good—not great.
Salt shakers were plugged and practically useless—you might get the idea.
No offense—I just wasn’t that impressed.
I was not happy with the service of our waitress. She did not tell us the specials, shared inappropriate information, and was not very attentive. I would overhear the servers at the tables around us and they were great! I was sad that this was my experience here because it was our first time here.
It has been a while since I visited the Morton's in Beverly Hills and after our New Year's eve experience we will not be back.
The host decided to sit us next to a table of 12 when the rest of the restaurant was empty, when I asked to be re-seated they moved just moved us to a bigger table in the same room instead of the main dining room. Our intimate NYE dinner turned into a shouting match. The management was very flip about the situation and I asked if they could at least turn down the lights, which they did for 5 minutes until the table of 12 said that they could not see the menu, so the lights came back on at full and stayed that way.
The large party soaked up all of the attention of our server and he forgot our drink orders several times.
Bottom line was that the $365.00 total would have been better spent at Mastro's.
In spite of the fact that this was one of the most expensive meals all year (it was Christmas night, table for 4) it was one of the least pleasant dining experiences all year. During the first course, another waiter (not ours) lost control of a stack of menus as she was running past our table. They knocked over most of the drinks on our table, and spilled onto one of my guests. After fumbling to clean them, she returned a few moments later only to spill another full glass off water onto the same guests. The table cloth was soaked, water was running off the table onto our laps. We asked if they could change the table cloths and had to awkwardly stand in the crowded dining room while they did so. The manager commented, "Oh, it seems you made a spill here." To which we let him know that it was a passing waiter who dropped a stack of menus onto our table, and who spilled another glass over when she returned to clean up the first mess. Although they did comp the cocktail that spilled, there was no other compensation offered for the mishap. At the very least the manager should have approached our table to apologize and offer to comp a drink or dessert. The food was good and our waiter gave us good service but I won't be returning to spend hundreds of dollars on dinner here anytime soon.
Very disappointing. Service was very slow food was lukewarm and the dessert was actually stale. I was surprised that a high end steakhouse like Morton’s would be this bad.
The steaks were just ok. I have definitely had better at Fleming’s and Ruth Chris.
With the prices they charge for such poor quality in the future this not be a choice
This is our last visit to Morton's. The bar is great and drinks are great, but when I think overall about how I could have spent my roughly $230 for a night for two, I would have preferred Maestro's or Ruth's Chris. Or two good dinners at Maggiano's where they know how to make Caesar salads.
The food was excellent. The seafood platter portion was small for the price ($29). The other portions were very good.
Upon arrival, I was provided with a personalized menu, that was a plus.
The establishment was spotless.
The service was outstanding until the end. There was a an issue with the Landry's Club Points, but it took much too long to correct it.
Overall, I will return again.
Ordered the meat special not in the Menu, much like Kobe called Wagyu for $69. Absolutely amazing piece of meat! I've always heard about steaks that melt in your mouth but never believed it until now. Delicious in every way. The ambiance is nice and allows for an intimate setting. Upscale but not snooty. Jeans and t-shirt or suit and tie everyone is welcome. Great service, very knowledgeable about the cuts of meat as well as their extensive wine list. Overall steak and ambiance made for a amazing night. Definitely recommend trying.
The service and quality matches the prices. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience and are willing to pay upwards of $50 per person then this place is for you. I've only been there once but will likely go again the next time I'm craving a very high quality steak meal. I imagine there's a good reason why their prices aren't on the online menu but I think it'd be an improvement if they were.
Four adults and one young child for dinner. Not only did the adults enjoy everything, but also the young child enjoyed everything he was served. The appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts were all excellent. The service was excellent as well. Morton's is expensive but worth every dollar!
We had the best mom's birthday celebration at Morton's Steakhouse at Beverly Hill on a quiet Saturday night. It was our first time dinning at Morton's Steakhouse. Reservation was simple booked by OpenTable app easily with the time that we want exactly. The staff members were out-standing. Once we step into the restaurant, it seems that every servers / workers know that we are here to celebrate my mom's birthday. Morton's also spend extra times to say happy birthday to my mom, take pictures with her and my family and gives her a little soufflle as her birthday cake. Great service. The only con is the porterhouse x 2 that we ordered were over cooked. We wanted medium, but the steak was slightly overcooked and becomes hard and dry. Overall, the restaurant is above our expectation. My mom had the best birthday dinner for the last 10 years.
