Morton's The Steakhouse - Bethesda Ratings and Reviews
Food and service were great. It was a little too dark and we needed to use the lights in our phone to see the menus. Price was high but it was a special occasion.
The parking was terrible. We waited about 10 minutes for the valet and gave up. I parked it myself in the underground hotel parking garage. The elevator was filthy and disgusting. I should have waited longer for the lone valet to return.
Stopped in for a nice quiet meal. Got just what we wanted. Great cocktails, app's, salads, entree's, Not rushed. Great conversation. Great food, good wine. What more could you ask for. Morgan took great care of us. We got a greeting from Todd the GM. The parking was great, pulled up out front and it was only $5.00. This is a great Morton's. Stop by and enjoy... We will be back again.
I had two issues with this restaurant.
The wait staff, Alexa, when asked if the crab legs were good said that she didn't know. Further she was not attentive and disappeared for extended periods even though the restaurant was less than half full. Her attitude was poor. The steaks were good but the crab legs were not fresh and were very poor.
Great food and good service. The strip steak was wonderful and, surprisingly to me, the side of broccoli was very tasty as well.
Atmosphere was slightly diminished due to undergoing renovations in the hotel this is situated at, but what's to be done. Nothing too bad anyways.
A bit expensive, but that's probably not a surprise to anyone.
Parking situation a bit tricky because of construction. We knew in advance and took uber though.
Everything was delicious and well prepared - crab cocktail, tomato/bleu cheese salad, filets both cooked to our exact specifications, and tender. It really has redeemed itself since the drastic fall when Landry's took over and the quality took a nose dive. So happy to have it back to the Mortons experience we came to love.
This was my wife and I second visit to this Morton's Location food and atmosphere was GREAT!!! Only concern I had was we felt our server was not very attentive. She didn't go over menu or wine menu, could have check on us through out he night. We had to order drinks with our server that was bringing out the food which wasn't a problem he made sure they came right out. Everything else was great we will be returning to this location.
Morton's is an upper end Bethesda steakhouse with very attentive service and a better bar than its competition. My business dinner went well with sufficient quiet to talk amongst ourselves and the meal was interesting, well presented and very good. Our dessert was exceptional.
Morton's is located in the Hyatt at Bethesda Metro Center, where a great deal of renovation is underway. The renovations are a significant inconvenience for now because the front entrance is closed requiring entry from the side, but the up side of that was the restaurant was less crowded and more quiet than other previous visits.
Don't use the hotel parking. There is a public garage one block east with cheap and easy parking as long as you bring a few quarters to feed the meter.
For the price, I expected a better experience.
- The table arrangement felt a bit crowded.
- Service was slow.
- The meals were good but I did not think they fit the price.
- It was actually uncomfortably warm in the restaurant at times.
Overall, I had a decent meal at Morton's Steakhouse.
We haven't gone to Mortons in sometime. There are so many choices in the area and it can be expensive. We decided since it was restaurant week , why not bring our children for the first time? Well, to our suprise the waitress didn't tell us about or offer us the restaurant week menu. We were all given
the standard menu. I thought this was very deceptive and just not right. Once I asked, she matter of factly said, "oh yeah this is a different menu. " Drinks and wine were great. The food was good, crab cocktail especially good. We had chicken and steak. Dessert was even better than the wine. We did have to wait quite some time for the warm chocolate cake. Overall the service was very slow and not what you would expect from fine dinning. At $300 plus for 4 (2 young children) they didn't do a good job of making it feel special.
Morton's participation in WRW was generous and well executed. The food quality was very high as always, the options were very good, portions ample (one had lobster bisque with upcharge, 6 oz. filet, asparagus and crème brulee) and the service was superb. Ms. Charlene provided exceedingly pleasant, highly professional and attentive service throughout all three courses and with beverage services. Morton's gets highest marks for gracious treatment of a female dining alone after working late, which puts them to the head of the short list for return business, as sometimes a femme sole can be sent to an Outer Siberia table near the kitchen or entry traffic, but they gave a great table. The atmosphere was inviting, and noise levels low. A wonderful experience and a most welcome oasis of calm from the local summer heat and storm, both literal and figurative, in late August, 2017, Washington area.
Restaurant week and great selection of choices for $35. Lobster bisque was phenomenal ($3 upcharge worth it with large lump crabmeat). Steak cooked to perfection and paired with creamy spinach! Paired with house cabernet which was fine over happy hour. Chocolate Mousse wonderful too! Would like to try happy hour menu sometime!
A fantastic dinner featuring a bone in steak for each of us cooked precisely the way we ordered it. Started with a great salad, an authentic Caesar. The sides were truffled fries and creamed spinach also perfect. The only problem: no room for desert. The setvoce could not have been better.
we went for the restrurant week special $35 for a three course meal the Mortons salad was topped with anchovies- which I would have requested not on my salad had I known even after I removed them there was a strong aftertaste the meat was as ordered and the side dishes were extremely large (but tasty!) while service was friendly
the kitchen was slow it was just short of two hours from the time of our reservation and our departure. and I am not a slow eater.
Construction out front makes getting to the restaurant challenging.
Quality of the filets seems to have gone down a notch, may be because of restaurant week or their $1 filet mini burgers special at the bar.
Because of the above items, our visit was not as special as we remember.
Our meal was very very good and the service is always attentive without being intrusive. Todd and Caleb take excellent care of us whenever we are there and the quality of the steak and its preparation have improved immensely over the last year or so. Once the construction is complete and the front is back in business with the valet, etc it will be an even better experience.
The service and food were great! When making the reservation I mentioned it was my husband's birthday that we were celebrating. They personalized menus for us with a happy birthday message for him. They took our picture and put it in a cute cardboard frame and gave us the menus to take home as a keepsake. My husband was surprised and loved what they did to make his birthday dinner more special. They even gave him a free dessert of his choice.
