Morton's The Steakhouse - Bethesda Ratings and Reviews
Took advantage of Bethesda restaurant week deal. Three delicious courses for only $35 and we were stuffed! I ordered the lobster bisque, Cajun seasoned filet mignon with mashed potatoes and a double chocolate mousse for dessert. Amazing. Our server Antonio was beyond charismatic and took great care of our group of 4. My only complaint is that it’s a bit too dark inside, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying every second of our visit. Would def recommend for a date night or special occasion.
Dined at Morton's for a small birthday celebration. It was restaurant week and we ordered off that menu but added an appetizer. There was good value with the restaurant week prices but wish they had a few more entree selections and a baked potato as an option. The regular price for the same size filet is overpriced since it is not accompanied by anything. The service was excellent and we would return just for that. There is free parking across the street at the Waverly garage on the weekends.
We had a great dinner. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. The only problem was that the temperature in the dining room was uncomfortably warm. We mentioned this to wait staff and manager, apparently the restaurants temperature is dictated by the hotel. We were uncomfortable, as were other diners. For that reason, I might not go back to this Morton's but would choose another location.
Main course arrived stone cold, staff were unattentative. After I sent it back, the waitress said no problem we will reheat it. The scallops came back like leather. the steak cold again on the inside.
What a shadow of its former self, when servers would presents cuts to select from, a platter. Three people behind the kitchen counter (and not one of them capable of cooking a dish without it getting cold. There were six or seven tables in all. How pathetic. Even after sending back my entree and the server complaining the maitre d asked me Ïf everything was OK"
Avoid like the plague. The servers should spend less time chatting amongst themselves and SERVE
The food was pretty good! The taste of my filet is not what I expected, not as flavorful as I thought it’d be. The service was great. We did have a table of young adults that thought it’d be a good idea to play water glasses for 20 mins which made the ambiance less enjoyable. Overall, we had a good time.
We spent another Nee Years Eve at Morton's. It was excellent as always. Todd was extremely helpful with allowing us to change our reservation time. Our waitress was also wonderful. All of our food was prepared exactly as we ordered. We will definitely be back next year !
Our waiter was just not there for us. Make no mistake, the food was great. Wine was fabulous and the Mgr made us aware of an Orin Swift wine special we reallyenjoyed. However, for spending $500+ the waiter needs to pay more attention. We were one of 6-7 table in the restaurant!!
Morton's is not the experience that it once was - it offers good food, not exceptional, and the service and experience are no longer 5-Star. There was a time when you really felt you were dining at one of the finest restaurants around. Not so much anymore. The overall experience has become "chain-like" and average. I'm sorry to admit it because I always considered any of the Morton's in the area an excellent choice and experience. I'm hoping that they can get back there some day.
Food and service were great. It was a little too dark and we needed to use the lights in our phone to see the menus. Price was high but it was a special occasion.
The parking was terrible. We waited about 10 minutes for the valet and gave up. I parked it myself in the underground hotel parking garage. The elevator was filthy and disgusting. I should have waited longer for the lone valet to return.
Stopped in for a nice quiet meal. Got just what we wanted. Great cocktails, app's, salads, entree's, Not rushed. Great conversation. Great food, good wine. What more could you ask for. Morgan took great care of us. We got a greeting from Todd the GM. The parking was great, pulled up out front and it was only $5.00. This is a great Morton's. Stop by and enjoy... We will be back again.
I had two issues with this restaurant.
The wait staff, Alexa, when asked if the crab legs were good said that she didn't know. Further she was not attentive and disappeared for extended periods even though the restaurant was less than half full. Her attitude was poor. The steaks were good but the crab legs were not fresh and were very poor.
Great food and good service. The strip steak was wonderful and, surprisingly to me, the side of broccoli was very tasty as well.
Atmosphere was slightly diminished due to undergoing renovations in the hotel this is situated at, but what's to be done. Nothing too bad anyways.
A bit expensive, but that's probably not a surprise to anyone.
Parking situation a bit tricky because of construction. We knew in advance and took uber though.
Everything was delicious and well prepared - crab cocktail, tomato/bleu cheese salad, filets both cooked to our exact specifications, and tender. It really has redeemed itself since the drastic fall when Landry's took over and the quality took a nose dive. So happy to have it back to the Mortons experience we came to love.
This was my wife and I second visit to this Morton's Location food and atmosphere was GREAT!!! Only concern I had was we felt our server was not very attentive. She didn't go over menu or wine menu, could have check on us through out he night. We had to order drinks with our server that was bringing out the food which wasn't a problem he made sure they came right out. Everything else was great we will be returning to this location.
Morton's is an upper end Bethesda steakhouse with very attentive service and a better bar than its competition. My business dinner went well with sufficient quiet to talk amongst ourselves and the meal was interesting, well presented and very good. Our dessert was exceptional.
Morton's is located in the Hyatt at Bethesda Metro Center, where a great deal of renovation is underway. The renovations are a significant inconvenience for now because the front entrance is closed requiring entry from the side, but the up side of that was the restaurant was less crowded and more quiet than other previous visits.
Don't use the hotel parking. There is a public garage one block east with cheap and easy parking as long as you bring a few quarters to feed the meter.
For the price, I expected a better experience.
- The table arrangement felt a bit crowded.
- Service was slow.
- The meals were good but I did not think they fit the price.
- It was actually uncomfortably warm in the restaurant at times.
Overall, I had a decent meal at Morton's Steakhouse.
We haven't gone to Mortons in sometime. There are so many choices in the area and it can be expensive. We decided since it was restaurant week , why not bring our children for the first time? Well, to our suprise the waitress didn't tell us about or offer us the restaurant week menu. We were all given
the standard menu. I thought this was very deceptive and just not right. Once I asked, she matter of factly said, "oh yeah this is a different menu. " Drinks and wine were great. The food was good, crab cocktail especially good. We had chicken and steak. Dessert was even better than the wine. We did have to wait quite some time for the warm chocolate cake. Overall the service was very slow and not what you would expect from fine dinning. At $300 plus for 4 (2 young children) they didn't do a good job of making it feel special.
