Morton's The Steakhouse - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
Extremely expensive for the service, quality of food and the ambiance. I had a good time because me and my family were all together, would not come back though and would not recommend: service very slow although trying to be nice, food good but nothing special, the decor could not be more average .....
Morton's Steakhouse is a great restaraunt. The food is superb, as is the service and the ambiance of the restaraunt. Go there to eat STEAK, as this is their specialty and the menu revolves around it. Morton's offers all of the traditional cuts of steak, as well as seafood, and some chicken and lamb dishes. They also offer a selction of appitizers (seafoods and salads) and side dishes (potatos and other vegetables). The menu is a'la carte and pricey, so be prepared. Also be prepared to spend some time, as Morton's wants you to enjoy your dining and doesn't rush you. The overall experience is wonderful and well worth it.
My wife and I celebrated our 1st anniversary there with a gift card we received. Morton's had special menus made with our names congratulating us, took a complimentary photo of us that they gave us in a card "signed" by the staff, and comped a dessert for us after our amazing meal. We felt very cared for in an incredibly personal manner. Premier service and the food was incredible! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special occasion or just a Friday night if you can afford to!
This was not one of our better experiences at Morton's. Although the food and service were excellent as always, the ambiance (intimate, romantic setting that we love about Morton's and why we chose to dine there)was ruined when a private business party of approx. 30 people were sitted out in the main dining area right next to our table. We were there celebrating a special occasion and it got to the point where we couldn't even hear each other in our own party of three. They were loud, laughing, carrying on, clanking glasses, making speeches, etc. The staff apologized and offered us a complimentary after dinner drink which was appreciated, but that didn't give us back the nice quiet, intimate dinner we were so looking forward to.
We visited to celebrate our 26th anniversary. Service was excellent as usual. The staff at Morton's always responds to special information like printing messages on the menu for guests or in this case a happy anniversary wish. Plus they took and delivered a framed photo of the happy couple. If you want fine food and even finer service Morton' s is the place that delivers consistently.
The meal itself was extraordinarily tasty and well prepared. No question.
I have traveled and eaten all over the world, and this was the most expensive meal per person I have ever eaten in my life. We had no appetizers, no expensive wine, etc.
For that kind of spend, the service was moderately good, the valet parking less than pleasant. The bread initially was outstanding. We were seated in a corner too near other persons, I was uncomfortable with that. To spend that much (nearly $150 per person)and to have that kind of terrible seating was pretty unclassy at best.
Overall the meal was good but there were some disappointments. The salads were overwhelmingly blah. Only one bite of bleu cheese in this huge salad. The steaks were cooked to our liking however the cut of the filet was half tough and the other half was melt in your mouth wonderful. The asparagus spears were very flavorful especially when mixed with a touch of the bernaise sauce. The chocolate cake I had for desert was the best part of the whole meal.
I enjoyed my dining experience. The service was as expected of a fine restaurant. As a previous server during my youth, i know the difficulties in providing superior customer service. My server was very professional and appropriately attentive. The menu presentation was very creative, unlike anything that I have experienced. The appetizer and meal was very good. The price was alittle beyond my normal dining budget, but the experience made it worthy of consideration of a future visit.
This was a rare night out for us, having a 14 month old at home. We love Morton's, and turn to them for special occasions. We used to have one in Annapolis, but it shuttered a year or so ago. Some of the problems we had tonight, we had at the Annapolis location, and thought it was an aberration. That perhaps that location just couldn't get it together.
The only food that was good this time were the salads. Appetizers were bland, steak over done, potatoes burned. Dessert was rubbery. At $53 for a steak, it should never leave the kitchen over done. Sauce on my shrimp was non existent, shrimp barely seasoned. We won't be dining at Morton's again, which saddens me. Used to be so great.
Party of 2 ordered 2 single cut filet mignons 1 med and 1 med rare. We sent the med bac 2 times for being extrememly undercooked. This is my second very expensive steakhouse the other being Ruth's Chris. This is a major disappointment. This is what these places are known for is the best steak ever. Obviously not. Our steak ended up being charbroiled black on the outside and rare in the middle. I will now stay with my Outback for the best steak. One that I have not ever had to send back. The only saving grace was their excellent manager.
Staff was exceptionally good with explanations, service, and ensuring our first Morton's dining experience was one to remember. The food was well prepared, however did not stand out with any extraordinary tastes or quality to justify the cost of the meal. The unfortunate part was a loud group seated at a table beside us. Morton's may consider placing such a group in a location away from couples and smaller groups.
Mortons offers excellent cuts of steak with an a la carte menu that makes it possible to share meals. We ordered the 24 oz. Porterhouse which kept us both full. The only reason I did not give it a five star rating was that the price of the steak was 1.5x what other high end restaurants are charging but the meat was not 1.5x better. Service was great. They offered a custom menu and took our picture and printed it out for us to keep. They also brought a cart by and explained all the cuts.
This was our third visit to Morton's, and the food was awesome. The service was good, but we didn't get the wine list until after we got our prime rib steaks. I also ended up with white lint all over my black pants and the bottom of my shirt from the napkin, which was extremely annoying. This has never happened before in any restaurant, and I wouldn't expect this from a high caliber restaurant like Morton's.
Always my favorite meal. Try to get there a couple times a year to be treated "right." You pay for that luxury, but they make it worth it. Steaks are always perfect, service is attentive and formal but not stuffy or overbearing, and the whole menu is delicious. Beefsteak tomato with blue cheese? The best...
The experience could not have been any better; from the valet straight through to the end of the evening. Top-notch staff.
Food was exceptional.
I took my mother there for her 75th birthday.
They personalized the menus at top with "Happy 75th Birthday, Nancy!"
She said it was one of the best dining experiences she's had.
I agree wholeheartedly!
