Morton's The Steakhouse - Baltimore Ratings and Reviews
Like any Morton's, the food was outstanding. Steaks were perfectly cooked, appys and sides were excellent. This particular Mortons, however, suffers from a rather dark, dated decor and wait staff that were OK but nothing special. This may explain why, on Father's Day, the place was nearly empty, and the kitchen shut down at 9pm.
We should have gone to Outback! It certainly isn't the Morton's we used to know. My ribeye was surprisingly thin and unbelievably salty. My wife ordered the lobster tail, which was tough and obviously several days old. The crème brulee was curdled. One of our worst meals ever, especially considering the price. The only decent part was our server - she was quite pleasant.
I chose to take my mothers here for a nice mother's day dinner. My brother came with us and was able to find a great dish on the menu that turned out to be fantastic. They had a mother's day special (surf & turf). They loved it. Morton's has a notable wine list to choose from. Celebrating my mothers here was a good choice!! #awesomedaughterandson
Waitress constantly trying to up sell without listening to us. We would order and she would try to change our minds for a more expensive option. The straw that broke the camels back was charging us $11.00 valet parking. Really? A $250.00 dinner and you charge us parking to eat at your restaurant. We typically go to the Capital Grille a few blocks away. I will continue to go there. Always great service, they listen to you and don't charge you to park.
Food was great -- We each had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent; our server was friendly and helpful. However, it sounds like the message regarding my wife's birthday was never relayed to the server; in the past there was a personalized menu with the date and my wife's name, while this time there wasn't a candle on the dessert we ordered. The server was wonderful so it sounds like it was a matter of communication error, but I was disappointed.
Server was very friendly and knowledgeable of menu (both food and alcoholic beverages). My dads steak was over cooked(order medium rare and got well done). Manager quickly had a new steak out that was medium rare. Server offered us free dessert for mix up. Overall a great experience
We go to this Morton's every time we are in Baltimore. Will be back next year, same time as we come for an annual ballroom dance competition. The food is exactly what you would expect of a high-end steakhouse, and everything is always fresh. Our server was especially excellent. Our 9 and 13-year-old really enjoy when servers engage them in conversation and our server made them feel like they were also receiving very personalized service. The Manhattan I ordered from the bar was excellent also!
I had a gift card for Landry's restaurants and had been to this Morton's previously and had a wonderful dinner. I was a little concerned based upon the reviews but we went anyway. I'm so glad we did. We had a wonderful meal with great service. We both had the Steak & Seafood special for $62.99 which includes choice of any salad, filet mignon, choice of seafood accompaniment, full size side, and any dessert. My steak was a tad over the medium that I ordered but not enough to complain about. Otherwise, everything was delicious. It was a Monday night and not very crowded so that may have helped. The timing of the courses was fine and what I would expect for fine dining. No complaints here - thoroughly enjoyed the dinner.
Other than the service, bread, and the never-before-seen bottle of wine there was nothing memorable about this meal. My wife's onion soup was flavorful if you like you soup sweet. Everything else we had: Ceasar salad, steak, and two sides had little to no flavor. In fact, they were downright bland. Both our steaks were also served lukewarm. We also shared a huge piece of carrot cake for dessert that was so sweet it actually hurt to eat it. At least we can say we've been.
We spent over $300 and had a wine flight that one of the wine glassses had cork in it!
The food was just ok and my wife didn't want me to send anything back. We were disappointed in our experience and we learned an expensive lesson. Our server was new and very nice I don't feel as if this were her fault! It also to 20 minutes for our wine order to arrive.
Overall not a good dinner
Lovely and comfortable dining room. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Matchstick truffle fries are to die for. All 4 of us at the table enjoyed our entrees. We shared the cheesecake dessert which was delicious. It was served with berries on the side and whipped cream --didn't need the whipped cream.
This was the perfect place for our 1st wedding anniversary. The ambiance was terrific, the food was splendid (there was no need to look for the salt or pepper)and the service was impeccable. We, my wife and I, would definitely visit again and most certainly would recommend to others.
Had our grown kids for our Birthday dinner. Service was a little slow that night but the staff was well aware and kept us informed. After a pretty long wait our food arrived and the unthinkable happened...5 of the 6 steaks were under cooked and had to be sent back. Most people would have been quite upset at this point but I must say they absolutely took charge of the situation and when they came back the steaks were fabulous. I mentioned to them that they did a great job of handling the situation and I can honestly say that how they reacted will definitely make me come back again.... Sometimes it's just an off night but how you handle the situation says much about the management and they did a wonderful job. Great job Morton's...see you again.
My wife and decided to try Mortons out for our date night out. The evening started of great when when arrived 20 minutes early for our 7pm reservations. The host sat us a large table behind the cooking sations which was fine. We order a few drinks and appetizers. (That best part of dinning )
1) lobster bisque was boiling hot. The waitress informed us the be careful. Not a problem. The bisque was watered down with no thickness just too thin for bisque.
2) Our order sat for 10 to 15 minutes before we received our food at our table.
2)My wife ordered the fillet that was dry from the outside instead of being moist and juicy. The waitress mentioned the middle of the steak should be juicy and rare not the outer area of the steak. I disagreed with that statement but I kept my opinion to myself. The blue cheeses mash potatoes formed a outer dryness on the top layer of the mash potatoes. My poterhouse steak had no favor at all.
3) The waitress apologized for our entrees taking so long. 3 other servers were apologizing to theirs assigned tables as well. Looks like under staffing for Saturday night.
4 ) Meal cost $335. Tip $70. Total I spent was $405.00 for dinner. Mortons experience was not worth my time.
Everything was great when I got in. But I arrived 15 minutes b4 my reservation and the valet would not take my vehicle. He advised me that thy don't open until 5pm. Well that was the time of my reservation. I try to be there 15 minutes early to a dinner reservation. I had to then drive to the hotel to get valet service. Then had to wait pass 5pm to be let in the Morton's hotel entrance door. That was very unprofessional and clearly inconvenient. But the dining experience was wonderful.
