Morton's The Steakhouse - Atlanta - Downtown Ratings and Reviews
We had issues with our reservation. I called to change my reservation on Friday and they "no showed" us after speaking to the host. I had to rebook our reservation for Sunday because by the time we called on Saturday they told me they didn't have anything.
After being seated at our table it took awhile before we had anyone say "hi" Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It was a long dinner. Everything took a long time to come to the table. They were also out of the appetizer we selected. I was disappointed with my salmon entree. They put so much peppercorn on the glaze it wasn't enjoyable. The mash potatoes did not have any flavor they could have used some salt and butter. I would also suggest smaller table bread. We had 2 bites and the rest was tossed out. What a waste. All in all it will not be first on our list to revisit Morton. It was a bit disappointing.
I have eaten at Morton’s in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Bethesda, MD; Seattle, WA; New York and all have been nothing short of AMAZING. The Atlanta Morton’s steak house was such a terrible experience that we will never set foot in a Morton’s again. It’s as if it were a complete different restaurant. The waiter even asked if we would like our steak knives replaced prior to dinner. My response was “no” I would like to eat my $100 Prime steak with a dirty/soiled knife that I used to butter my bread with. On top of this at no point did the waiter clean the crumbs off the table between each course. This restaurant is dirty/filthy and the wait staff has just as much experience as an IHOP waiter/waitress.
Going in, we knew that Morton’s was not inexpensive. The menu is not very creative.... after all it is a steak house. The steaks were nicely cooked (as they should be for $50 for a 6 oz steak). Had a $13 side of mashed cauliflower. That too was very tasty.
An overall good meal, but be prepared for sticker shock. This is a once in a long while dining experience. All in all, I don’t know if it was any better than a good filet at a good restaurant.
No real ambiance to speak of. For a half empty restaurant, it was very noisy.
Go once to experience it, then decide if it is worth a return visit
I expect more than I got from a high-end steakhouse. We were there on New Years Eve and they were not busy. I guess that was a bad sign. The food was just ok, I wouldn't say even good. The service was SLOW. The dining room was decorated with black balloons??? for New Years Eve. This was my first visit to a Mortons. I will not return. I expect a lot more from a $650 tab for 4 people. This was more like a visit to Outback Steakhouse with higher quality meat.
We dined there on New Year's Eve. Our waiter, Martinez was wonderful. However, our meal for two of us was undesirable. One order was lamb ( rare on the inside, burned on the outside) . This was returned to the kitchen but what was returned was overcooked and not worth eating. The other order was a 8 oz filet mignon. It was ordered well done, slight pink in the middle. It was a brick. It was not returned or complained about. The lamb order was removed from our bill and our desserts (lava cake yummy) was complimentary. However, we've dined at Morton's in other locations and have been pleased. Maybe it was the holiday that caused that bad food. Very disappointing meal.
It was a fantastic meal at Morton’s. We went for Christmas Eve dinner and it was fabulous. The food was impeccable and delicious. Service was good and atmosphere was lovely. Enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, surf and turf combination with a filet, and incredible sides. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and I look forward to being back.

The food was seriously overpriced. The “jumbo potato” (it was regular size) and the tomato with diced onions on a piece of lettuce cost over $25. The steak had no sides on the plate so I had to share my potato and tomato with my husband. The waiter was rude when I asked if there were meat products used in the onion soup... telling me that ALL onion soup is beef based. (According to google, there are 9,257 onion soup recipes without beef broth). We were a party of 11 people and none of us will ever go there again.
Dined at Mortons all over this great country. Food was excellent but the service at this location is the worse. The entrees were deliver while we were still eating the salads. We had to ask for more from drinks and to top it off the server did not offer the soufflé in time for them to be prepared.
Morton's always provides great quality food with tremendous service. The whole experience never wavers from being top notch. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a tremendous meal and great wine. And, thanks to Ashley for taking terrific care of us.
