Morton's The Steakhouse - Arlington Ratings and Reviews
I went here with a friend for DC restaurant week and we absolutely loved it. The staff were very nice and helpful and they always came to check to make sure everything was good. I ordered the Morton salad as my starter, which was AMAZING! My main course was the filet mignon and I got it with broccoli. I ordered it medium well. The only thing that was slightly bothersome was the fact that parts of it were a little TOO pink, but other than that everything was wonderful. I would definitely eat here again but I think I would get my filet well done instead.
They serve more than just steaks but we opted for steaks as that is what they are known for. The steaks practically melt in your mouth! One day we'll try the other dishes, also; since the sides were done very well they obvious know how to cook more than just steaks! Drinks were also mixed well!
Maybe our service wasn't all that great because we went during Restaurant Week. But I could have sworn the whole point of Restaurant Week is to draw in a crowd and make an impression on people so that they will become regular customers. Well...it left an impression, and it wasn't a good one. First of all, we spent 2 hours in the restaurant...most of which was spent talking, waiting for the food to come out, not eating. By the time we received our food, the side dishes were cold (green beans and mashed potatoes). The filet mignon was anything but impressive (NOTHING compared to a Ruth's Chris steak). I ordered it medium-well, and it came well-down and slightly burnt. It wasn't juicy or incredibly flavorful. Definitely disappointed.
My guest and I wouldn't say the food was bad, but it was a bit bland. We will classify ourselves as foodies and we are big meat eaters and have had the best. We figured we have never been to Morton's so let's give it a shot and it just wasn't what we expected. However, when we expressed our displeasure to the General Manager she provided us with a free dessert and a gift certificate for next time we visit. However, I don't think we will go back even if a portion of our meal is paid for.
Morton's in Arlington has been a long-time favorite for me and never disappoints. I can depend on Morton's to consistently deliver high-quality food and service. After being burned by other local Arlington and Alexandria restaurants for special occasions, I'll leave those events and client dinners to Morton's to get right.
I like this restaurant a lot. This was only my second time. I find the setting quite romantic and the service is excellent. The food could not be any fresher and is quite delicious. I like my steaks flavorful and not overpowered by the seasoning and Mortons gets it right! It is very expensive, so save for special occassions and stick with the familiar - the first time we went, someone in the party ordered something fancy and did not like it. We did not complain so not sure how the restaurant would have handled. I would definitely go back but, like I said, for very special occassions.
Morton's is a classic steakhouse only thing missing (thank God) is the smell of cigar smoke. The food is good but way over priced. It would be hard to get out of there for under $100 per person. Wine is pricey and only adequate at the $60 per bottle level. Service is great but for my money the whole experience could be achieved somewhere else for a much more reasonable price.
The steaks and crab legs were incredibly good! Our only complaint (really a minor one) was that we ordered the sauteed fresh spinach and mushrooms for a side dish but it had very little spinach. There were so many mushrooms the dish should have been called sauteed mushrooms and spinach.
I did not enjoy my experience at Morton’s at all. We were there for 2 hours and did not eat dessert and most of that time was spent waiting. It took forever to be served, to get our food and even get our bill. The main problem was the waiters did not service a small area instead they were running back and forth from one side of the restaurant to the other servicing their tables. The food was only mediocre I left hungry and dissatisfied. I can say Morton’s will not be a restaurant I will visit again.
We always have an outstanding evening at Morton's. We have been visiting this location on New Year's Eve for the past 3 years and would not expect to do anything different in the upcoming years. We really appreciate the personal attention we are given on each occasion.
We went because we had a $50 gift certificate. The prime ribs we ordered were well prepared and delicious. But, really, if you're going to charge $45 for a prime rib, I think you can throw in a salad or a baked potato! But it was $9.50 to add a baked potato that came with the option of butter, sour cream or crumbled bacon. Delicious options, but I would have also appreciated some chives and shredded cheese. The house chardonnay was primo and the chocolate cake with ice cream was divine!
My husband and I had an awesome anniversary dinner at Morton's Steakhouse! They made it very personable and romantic. From the personalized menu to the photograph keepsake. And the food...what can I say? The ribeye was THE BEST I had ever had! We r still talking about it...2 days later. I would recommend it to anyone, especially for a special occasion.
