Morton's The Steakhouse - Arlington Ratings and Reviews
Parents were in town & wanted a nice eve for them. Reservations were full at their favorite place, so thought this would be a convenient and nice alternative. Waiter was pleasant, but service was incredibly slow and uneven. If you’re going to try to sell us a bottle of wine, please have more knowledge than,”this is a red.” Steaks were delicious and cooked well, but sides offered were way out of season (asparagus in December?) and not fresh. Overall, this place is overpriced for what you get.
We had a great experience at Morton's Crystal City. Service was friendly and efficient. The manager, David, visited our table to ask how we were doing. The decor is plush and music is lively.
Our Aviation and Manhattan cocktails were palate thrilling with high quality liquors. The bib lettuce and Caesar salads were fresh and tasty. We had delicious Cajun rib eye steaks that were unbelievably juicy and buttery. The cheesecake desert has a creme brulee layer on top that makes it the best desert in town.
Bottom line, Morton's Crystal City is a great steakhouse and worth the price.
Very disappointed. We went at Happy Hour so I will admit the value was worthy, but when ordering the filet medallion, I was very specific that it must be cooked well done or I wouldn't eat it. My husband and I both ordered from the bar menu with drinks and it took almost an hour for the items order to come out of the kitchen. The filet was not cooked as requested so I had to send it back. This took yet another hour before it returned. If we wanted to be in and out in 45 minutes, we should have been. This "quick" experience turned into 2 1/2 hours. I did email the property without response. They should be running this restaurant far more professionally.
Great meal. I had a taste for steak and it was cooked perfectly. The accompanying broccoli was the best I've had. The only problem was the soup was not very hot, but the waiter replaced it with another one. The recommended wine was smooth and delectable. Everything was topped off with chocolate mousse, just wish I had more of it. The service was outstanding as well, the perfect dinner.
Morton's in various locations (I've been to one's in King of Prussia, NYC, Baltimore, DC, Universal City and Arlington, Va) were (was) once my favorite steakhouse chain. Recently, however, the food and the service have deteriorated to average at best. And the service is spotty. Cold and, more often now, mediocre food, ignoring of requests, noise levels , and "nothing special" have made it fall precipitously from it's previously high perch, so my visits will be severely curtailed in the future!
The wait staff was not the best. We barely saw our waiter and when he was there. He'd run off before my fiancée and I could get a word in. The food was very subpar when considering the price. The steak wasn't the best quality cut for a filet mignon. I'd hate to say it but outback steak house was comparable as for as taste.
Morton's is one of my favorite restaurants and this was the most disappointing dining experience thus far. We had 7:30 reservations and did not get a table until 7:55.
After we were seated, our drinks orders and meal took an inordinate amount of time considering we ordered our meals as soon as we sat down. We noticed two other tables which arrived well after us receiving entrees and beverages before us.
As soon as we announced we were there for restaurant week the service immediately dropped in quality. It took a long time for our food, which was excellent. I had the small filet - awesome as always, my wife had the salmon which was also exceptional and daughter the chicken Christopher. Morton's is the kind of place you go when you have an expense account. When someone else is picking up the tab it is worth every penny!
