   The food was of a very high standard and each course was brilliantly described in detail by the ladies looking after us. Nothing was to much trouble, even my error in not advising the restaurant until we had arrived of my wife’s dietary requirements. They overcome my error effortlessly and you would never have known. I would suggest, if having the taster menu you have the accompanying wines, they really do make a huge difference to the enjoyment of the food. I will visit again very soon, thank you for a wonderful evening.

   We had the tasting menu ( pescatarian) and wine pairing - it was a significant anniversary for us hence an excuse to celebrate in style ! The food was sublime - every course beautifully cooked and presented like a little work of art -hard to choose favourites but if I had to choose it’d be the cod and confit mash with shallots and leeks with a pleasantly sharp white languedoc and the rhubarb, vanilla cream and pistachio ice cream dessert matched with a mellow Hungarian white wine . The wine pairing was a treat and introduced us to some new ( to us ) wines which we’ll definitely try again . Service was ideal - extremely proficient but also relaxed and friendly. The venue was pleasant and welcoming-wood panelled rooms , soft lighting and quiet ambiance. We had a delightful evening , with superb food and wine and charming service and venue . We highly recommend .

   Why this restaurant does not have a Michelin star I don’t know. We have been to so many Michelin star restaurants and been disappointed. Not here. The food was exceptional and the staff very friendly. We will be returning.

   This restaurant was recommended by our neighbour and it didn’t disappoint My husband booked it as it was my birthday The food was amazing and the staff very attentive and informative We both enjoyed the whole experience We will definitely visit again

   We had a lovely anniversary meal here. The chef and waiting staff were very accommodating regarding a gluten free diet, very much appreciated. The food was really fantastic, thank you!

    Wonderful service Wonderful food Wonderful experience We had a 6 month old baby with us and the restaurant made us feel very welcome and accommodated us in a quiet corner. Would definitely recommend excellent value.

    What is the matter with citizens of Ludlow and environs? we we were the only diners in this attractive restaurant and had the delicious menu degustation with paired wines. The best meal we have had in the UK for yonks. Locals need to support Mortimers or it wont be there!

    A very nice evening . The food was very well presented , the food flavours and combinations worked well. The service was very good and staff were all friendly and helpful. Wasn’t aware it was a tasting menu on a Saturday evening but fortunately the majority of courses suited us. Will go again.

    I am in my sixties and dine out often. Mortimers is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food is exquisite and the staff excellent. I will go back to Ludlow (I live 5 hours away) just to eat here.

    Second time to dine here staff are so friendly welcoming and great hosts. Food was lovely just served to fast and felt rushed however girls did ask chief to slow are service down for us. Do feel the service charge and Wine was over priced understand cost of heating however feel the inflation was to high. Overall the girls were lovely and make the Resturant run smoothly as this was a treat for my husbands birthday. Thank you

    Lovely attentive staff. Beautifully prepared food. Managed to book us a taxi back to our holiday cottage which we couldn’t get ourselves. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

    We came for my Mum’s 60th birthday and it was amazing! Fantastic service from the start. Staff were so attentive and welcoming. Intimate and comfortable - it was a lovely setting inside. We opted for lunch menu and it was absolutely sublime. So impressed with the quality of food - best food we’ve had in a long while. This is a must visit, I assure you!
