Morimoto - MGM Grand Las Vegas
This place its amazing from start to finish the food was fantastic
Nothing I expected from a iron chief. Cool experience, bad food
Great service and amazing food. One of the best meals I've ever had. (Peppers appetizer + Sashimi chef's special + Cheesecake dessert)
Not as amazing as the location in Orlando Florida but still awesome.
Matt is the best waiter ever! Just let him guide you and you won't be disappointed.
It was so good this was my 2nd time.
Great service and great food! We had the duck duck goose and spicy green beans. I didn’t find the green beans to be spicy but they were tasty! Love everything about the duck duck goose entree. Perfect portion size and everything was cooked to perfection
The place does not disappoint. This is our fifth visit over the last couple of years. I always get the ishi yaki buri bop because it’s a winner. I highly recommend this dish. Great service, and excellent food!
It's tough to beat a great meal here. The quality of the food is exceptional. It is extremely expensive, but you know what you are getting into. I'm shy of giving my experience 5 stars because it took an oddly long time to get our final dish out, so we sat for quite some time with no food on the table. Of course when it arrived, we were not disappointed.
Spent thanksgiving at Morimoto’s and I think we have a new tradition. Always 5 star service and food. Best sushi in the world, best sushi rice anywhere!!
Really disappointed. It was a slow Monday night (maybe 4 tables total in restaurant) and we had reservations. Terrible, slow service. Waiter came by maybe 3 total times, took forever to order, food was brought out in random order (like my side vegetable before my soup). The quality of food was not up to par, especially for Vegas. So many other options out there at the same or better prices! We not be returning AT ALL.
Great starters and cocktails but did not excel in other dimensions.
It would be really nice if your dress code was enforced. The majority of the restaurant was dressed quite casual when it was specified that the dress code was business casual. It totally ruins the atmosphere of going out to a fine dining establishment and shows a total lack of respect to the restaurant and it's customers.
I had the clam miso soup & it was very good. I split sushi rolls with a friend & the sushi was very fresh. Best I have ever had. I loved the oval water glasses. Service was excellent. The server answered questions & made a recommendation which did not disappoint. I would recommend dining here. It was worth it.
The duck duck goose is consistently excellent (the included duck meatball soup is fantastic and the duck leg is fall off the bone tender, if you love duck fat fries you will love the duck fat rice, and of the course the duck breast medallions are delicious with the gooseberry compote). If you have room, get the alaskan king crab hot appetizer with aioli and green mango (portion is huge and fresh). Recommend following it up with the fiery chocolate torte. The attentive service is amazing! I only wish I could have met Iron Chef Morimoto in person. He had just been to Las Vegas. The only thing that could have made it better, was if they served more of that wonderful gooseberry compote with the meal! They should sell jars of it. It was so serene and peaceful in the restaurant - hard to believe with the noise and bustle outside. What an enjoyable meal.
Amazing meal. Lots of food. The sushi here is too notch. The steak was amazing. The ribs were outstanding. My favorite is the miso cod though.
Overall, this was a great restaurant experience. What really stands out is the service. We were at a regular table being served by Jeff. One of us saw the lamb in the display but it wasn't on the menu. It is on the tepenyaki menu though. So, our server actually went and got the chef of the tepenyaki to prepare the lamb for us. Of course, that wouldn't normally be done if the tepenyaki was booked but it was still an excellent experience.
On top of that, Jeff was knowledgeable in sake for us to pick one we'd all enjoy and he nailed it.
He also helped suggest side dishes and selection of the sushi/sashimi.
The food was very good. Lots of flavors,
served fresh and hot, and the sashimi was also very fresh.
My main reason for anything less than 5 stars is really the prices you pay for dining on the strip. I had the pork and rice bowl. And while it was delicious I find the price being over $30 a bit much. I do realise that real estate on the strip is premium and that adds to the cost but I'm finding more and more the hotels are raising prices simply because they can. That's unfortunate and it's also why the fast food places have seen an increase in traffic.
I would recommend Morimoto for a great dining experience and quality food, don't get me wrong. It was enjoyable, just a little pricey like all strip places overall is my only draw back. So, 4.8 stars.
Morimoto is great
Poor experience. Minimal value for the price. Food (rolls and sashimi) were generic tasting and overpriced. $17 martinis were served half full.
Great place for an intimate romantic dinner. I would definitely recommend.
Excelente la atención y la comida
We went to Vegas for our anniversary and had a wonderful dinner. The tuna tacos were amazing, we could have eaten another order. My husband’s order of the chef’s special sushi was perfect. So glad we tried the donuts for dessert, we got to fill them ourselves, super yummy.
I have visited two other locations with one being Napa a couple weeks ago so my standards were high. I was most disappointed by the availability of only one sake flight that included an extra (pricey) aged sake. There were several flights to choose from in Napa so I was able to pick the one that I wanted. At the Vegas location, there was only one offered. In general, the food was good. The presentation seemed a bit off - the pieces were there but they were not presented in the same fresh and clean manner as I expected. I also had to wait for refills on soda during the entire meal. These may seem a bit picky, but at this price point I expect better.
Great service and the food was very good. Disappointed to once again see limited non-dairy options for dessert but par for the course for most restaurants. Also, sake selection was way overpriced but that is prevalent across Vegas. They should at least have an inexpensive house sake to offer.
Our server, Katie, was fantastic and gave us perfect recommendations!
Food and drinks were fantastic and we can't wait to go back!
We were really looking forward to this meal, however it was pretty disappointing. I know Morimoto would hate this but honestly I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between his food and P.F. Chang’s. The fried rice was unbelievably salty. The toro sashimi was overly complex in presentation but had completely muddled flavors. The tempura was overly dressed in sauce. I would not recommend this place. Head next door to Craft steak.
Very good, had the 6 course meal special with the wine pairing
Food was just ok. Not what I expected. Server was rushing and making me and my husband very uncomfortable. They were removing plates from table that we were still eating. Waitress knew we were catching a show and felt she was being helpful but clearly we had plenty of time and we left 2 hours for dinner. I had to set her straight and clarify that we are on time and she needs to slow down because she was ruining our dinner. Would not recommend since there are much better places in town that are just as pricey.
Bam! Iron chef approved
Hamachi and ahi tacos were good. Sushi was of the quality you can find in a supermarket. Blah. Rock shrimp tempura were of McDonalds quality. Nothing like traditional tempura. Half of them were slathered in a wasabi mayonnaise sauce and the other half were covered in a sauce I can only describe as orange. No idea what the flavor was supposed to be. No tempura batter or tempura dipping sauce. Good service, loud music. You would be better off with chicken McNuggets and a large order of fries from McDonalds. The menu reads well, the place looks nice, the service was very good, but if you like Japanese/Asian food, then don’t go here. Japanese diners were nowhere to be seen.
Our waiter was outstanding and we really enjoyed his recommendations. The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection.
Great food, cool vibe and staff very service oriented. We only had 40 minutes before a show to eat but they got us in and out without feeling rushed. Would highly recommend.
Outstanding. Morimoto is a God among chefs. Highly recommend. Attention to detail is amazing. Even the water glasses are rethought and improved. Run, don’t walk, to eat here.
Our server made the experience worthwhile.
Delicious sushi rolls and rock tempura shrimp appetizer. Great ambiance and service.
It’s the best!!
This was our first visit and it was Amazing. The staff were so kind and of course the food was excellent.
The food and service are wonderful. We did their tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was fantastic. We added the sticky ribs as we had a guest who we wanted to taste that culinary delight.
