We stop by this restaurant yesterday. Sadly our server was knowledgeable but service itself was slow. I do believe he was in training or was training someone. Our app was acting up a little bit so we asked for physical menus. Wifey was given one. We were a party of 4! So I asked for one more. We received 2 separates menus. I do believe one was an old one and the other was current. Who knows.. until we asked. A lot good stuff on the old/discontinued menu. We ask for a couple of momotais and a lemonade for my youngest. Drinks too long for as simple version of a Mai Tai. For the wait we were expecting something else. My you gest got pineapple juice instead of lemonade so we exchange that.
The food. So everything seems to be for sharing and they arrive as it was order. Edamame good, pad Tai bland... wifey asked for a spicy sauce to add on to the already "spicy" entree which she had to ask for more than twice. Veggie yakisoba extremely sweet. I understand may be that's the intention but it was wayyyy to sweet no one in our party liked it. Miso soup was awesome. Galbi the highlight of the evening.
It was our anniversary and not even a recognition. The ambiance was great as a guy was singing on the bottom floor which really added to the night.
Overall, I would not recommend. I thought because they were open a few night lt would have been a great experience. It was not. They have to leave up to the standards of a great Iron Chef. Not coming back.
We had an amazing experience with Danny and San our servers. Sat outside and it was beautiful. Loved the full experience.
Everything was great until I found hair in the lobster. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to make a big deal or get anyone in trouble. Besides the hair everything else was great.
Definitely a must try while in Waikiki. You won’t be disappointed. If I had only one piece of advice would be to get an earlier reservation then we did. We went at 8:15 and it all kinda felt rushed as the kitchen closes at 9:30. So the waiter tried hard not to make us feel like that but all the food came out really quick. Appetizers then immediately our dinner dishes. So book early to enjoy and take your time to appreciate all the flavours. It was excellent. You got to go!!!!!
Should have gone to P.F. Chang’s. Nice service but mediocre food.
Wow. A culinary experience. Trust the staff and you will discover some classic dishes that taste amazing.
Amazing flavors. Every bite hits your taste buds. We shared 5 dishes and sake is served on ice.
It was a birthday celebration and was disappointed no bday dessert. :( otherwise the service was great!
Waiter was not the friendliest, but a good overall experience
I was disappointed. From checking in to the plating of the food. Not impressed. I had made a 7pm reservation a little over a week ago, confirmed my reservation 2 days prior and even arrived 10 min early to check in only to still sit and wait 5 min past my reservation time. Other parties were being seated before I was and even a party who was 15 min late for their reservation were seated before us. I asked the hostess and her excuse was that I had requested for outdoor and they were just clearing out our table. Seriously?? My table was still being cleaned? When someone makes a reservation way in advance that table should have been set aside, cleaned and ready for your guest to arrive, not start clearing it out when they get there.
Finally sat down, our waiter was all over the place. Very kind and friendly but was over worked. I didn’t mind him not coming around as often as it allowed for my family and I to chat. However, I was very disappointed for the reduced menu and lack of choices. Don’t give false advertisement and not follow through with it. Not top chef quality whatsoever. There were a lot of dishes with the hot pepper picture next to it indicating it’s level of spiciness leaving only a small handful of choices that are not spicy. The plating of the food was not @ the level it’s meant to be for a renowned known chef. It’s more of a family style restaurant.
Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I’ve had way better. Lesson learned…. Just cuz the restaurant has a fancy name doesn’t mean it stands up to its standards.
We really enjoyed our dinner here. Crispy ribs and angry lobster are the best. Make sure you reserve early.
Wonderful Service !!! Wonderful meal!
We came for the A-5 Wagyu hot stone beef. We also had the seared fish that our server recommended. All were good. And they were so accommodating to us. We had to change the time of our reservations twice. The staff was very good about the time changes. And the social distancing was great. We had a table in the corner.
We were a party of three. Food came out fast. The A-5 Wagyu beef just melts in your mouth. For dessert, the chocolate sphere is a must. Will come back again.
Incredible food/views and the service was excellent! Highly recommend
It was amazing! Our server Nick made our experience wonderful w his great personality and stellar service.
Attentive service and spectacular food. The creative twist on Asian dishes was so fun to experience.
Wagyu Prime Rib was incredible: juicy, bursting with asian flavors and our most tender bits of a prime rib ever. Duck was superb. Service was terrific. Apps came instantly and the gyozas are not too spicy and melt in your mouth. Must have for a cocktail is the legendary table-side made Old Fashion- you will never forget it.
Nice dinner with family. Had a special treat at the end with the chocolate sphere. Pretty amazing.
We had poor service and food. We asked for no cilantro and it was put on. When we returned the food, it was barely taken off and returned again.
We did like the gyoza and buri bop. This was our 30th anniversary and terribly disappointed.
Ribeye served was ok with light seasonings. The garlic shrimp was good as any other garlic shrimp, maybe I was expecting too much from the iron chef. Please don't get me wrong, food was good, but not very different from other fancy restaurants.
Was here on vacation and had to take the last dinner reservation, at 5pm. But everything made up for that. Great waiter, wonderful service, and the food was amazing!
Had a great time here! Our waiter John was very attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Presentation was fantastic. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could!
Dining at an outside table was fabulous along with the chocolate tort flambé - can’t wait to return
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend
The service was great. The food was excellent. Absolutely need to try.
The food was terrific. We loved the A5 Waygu beef dishes we had. Wonderful sunset overlooking the beach on the patio.
Really good version whole fried fish(bran IMO). Server Kelly was very friendly and professional. Looking forward to returning.
Fantastic experience. Food was amazing and the staff was great.
I had a blast here and the food was AMAZING!!! My server was also great.
Great food and drink with a great view of sunset. I ordered and shrimp Pad Thaj and it was delicious, definitely will be back whenever I’m in Waikiki again.
We sat outside and watched the sunset! The server, Will, was super and didn’t mind that we stayed over two hours
Food and service both amazing with attentive staff and outstanding presentation.
Seating outside gave us a perfect view of the sunset off Waikiki Beach. Breeze from the mountains, fans and shades kept us comfortable with a great ambiance. Perfect during COVID. COVID precautions excellent. Food was wonderful. The menu has changed a but since they reopened but still excellent selection. Appetizers are key to eating at Morimoto’s. We had the sticky ribs and fish carpaccio and shared the awesome lobster dish. My husband was a bit leery of the Thai curry sauce but it’s served on the side and ceremoniously poured alongside the lobster so it can gently spread through the bed of noodles beneath the lobster. Excellent taste! Wine list a little limited but lots of sake choices and a great twist on a Moscow Mule. Free valet parking for three hours; you should tip. My husband was a little disappointed we didn’t receive anything for our anniversary but you can’t have everything!
Came for our 12 year anni and staff was attentive to our celebration. Kenny took care of us and was En pointe with his wagyu prime rib recommendation. Started with a smoked old fashion Kenny prepared table side that knocked my husband’s socks off and finished with an angry lobster that left me feeling fulfilled. No room for dessert but food, service, and quality surpassed our expectations. James(manager) came out to greet us and made us feel welcome. Great restaurant, a must-try!
Our experience was one of the best in Waikiki! 98% of the food was beyond excellent (minus the pork) and the service was the best we had on our vacation. Each staff member we interacted with was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable! I would go here again or visit another location.
One of the truly most delightful experiences in my life long pursuit of find cuisine.
It was disappointing. I had been here in 2019 and the food was epic. I feel like Covid has take a toll on this place - changed menu, overall quality of food not as high as it was back then. Our server was great though!
Amazing dishes full of flavor. Wonderful service by Nick. Such a great night out as a family
The good was delicious and our waiter Nick was very attentive
