50th birthday! Had a wonderful experience overall. Will definitely come back when in Oahu again.
All around my favorite Asian restaurant in Honolulu! Amazing flavors and overall value for your money in a great location with a well-informed and super attentive non intrusive staff!
Had a great dinner in good company with a fantastic view, service and food. What else could you ask for? Special mention, Kendall was a gem.
We had a fantastic dinner! Highly recommended!
I can’t say it enough: Morimoto’s is the best place for any occasion. Whether you’re meeting with a group of friends like we did last night, or going for an anniversary date, the food and service and ambiance are wonderful. Here’s a shout out to Courtney— she’s the hostess at the front, and she’s always so friendly and helpful.
Of course the food is amazing, but it’s the vibe and the staff that make us go back as much as we do.
View was World Class, service was outstanding. Food so good even though wanted wanted different experiences we actually came back again before leaving. Very Enjoyable Experience overall~
Food is too salty
We enjoyed our evening here very much. Our waiter, Mikey, was helpful, kind, funny and engaging. The food was delicious especially the duck Caesar salad. We sat outside which was probably more to our liking than the closed feeling of inside. Others may not mind inside. Everyone we encountered hear was friendly and seemed to really enjoy the place. My only criticism is some of the things they use to serve the food seem to be one-use items. Seems very non-environmentally friendly, especially on an island. This bothered me but would not keep me from going back. Delicious food!
Food was great. The angry lobster was amazing. The Morimoto brand sake was tasty & the frozen beer was fantastic. Our server Manu was attentive & welcoming. I highly recommend it.
First time here but have been to Morimoto Maui. Different menu but amazing decor and very comfortable seating. The welcoming staff andBar servers were warm, friendly and attentive. Mark, our dining server was patient with our menu questions and made recommendations on our preferences. He was friendly and attentive and his support staff was excellent also.
The meal was typical Morimoto....well presented, hot and delicious. Will definitely return here.
We had a reservation at 5 pm (right when the restaurant opened). The balcony/outdoor seatings were completely unoccupied and so we asked to be seated outside. The maitre d’ first seated us indoors and after a second request begrudgingly (he made sure to let us know his displeasure) arranged a table outdoors. When asked why we could not sit closer to the edge of the balcony (I.e., closer to the beach) he said that the other tables were reserved. We sat and ate for 1 hour and 30 and minutes and some of the tables (that could seat four) remained empty.
While I recognize that those other tables could have been specifically “reserved”, I did not appreciate the maitre d’ openly displaying displeasure at us. We would have walked out but decided not to make a big deal. The restaurant is quite expensive and we expected better service.
The waiter, on the other hand, was quite professional.
Service was amazing and food was great as usual
It was great food and our waitress was amazing the food and ambiance were perfect
Great service! We had fish carpaccio, black cod and garlic shrimp. All delicious. Only complaint is we had to peel the shrimps and it’s not as easy as traditional Chinese restaurants.
Service was incredible. Spicy Tuna Roll was amazing!
Thanksgiving...the whole sea bass made the best turkey substitute ever. Our whole meal was a feast...with thanks giving....
Excellent service food ambience our new Friend (1st time guest) really enjoyed the restaurant. The Manager Mr Chase ensures you are being well served :)
Great experience. Just the entrance of using stroller/accessibles is not clearly marked.
Great food and great service! Don't waste your time ordering traditional dishes like pad Thai or kung pao, go for the unique appetizers - sticky ribs, gomae etc. You won't be disappointed!
Too many servers. One would take order and forget to tel he other. Food delivery mistimed. Slow and disorganized. Food is good though but confusion ruined the meal. Waited 20 min for a 2nd glass of wine near end of dinner.
This was everything we expected it to be. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing! Even the ambiance was great. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip.
Noted that I was celebrating my birthday but no greeting or free anything was offered. Service was slow. Had to flag down our waiter a couple of times. Food was good, but not worth the $$$$ we paid for it.
Very poor quality sushi rolls. Not what you expect from a chef of this caliber on an island where fresh fish is so abundant. The photos on the walls give it a cafeteria feel as well. Step it up guys or you won’t last another year.
Went here for restaurant week. We had high expectations since Chef Morimoto is highly famous. Dinner was a huge disappointment. The waygu wraps were reminiscent of a summer roll. Beautiful presentation but not particularly outstanding. The main course was kalbi... dry, chewy and flavorless come to mind. I have had much more flavorful, tender kalbi from local places. The dessert was meh. The donuts were like mini-malasadas (deep fried dough rolled in sugar). The side toppings for the donuts paired well. 1/5 3 course meal. I understand that restaurant has cheaper 3 course meals but if they couldn’t execute the menu special for restaurant week well then I wouldn’t want to try their regular meals.
Absolutely wonderful! We love the one in Napa and it was so great to have just as an amazing experience in Waikiki. Short ribs, chocolate sphere dessert and Surf N Turf roll is worth upgrading the steak on! Our server Kayla was one of the best servers I’ve ever had. We just let her pick an item from every area on the menu and it was a hit!
If youre not a Ginger lover, dont come here. Service was great though. The frozen beer-loved it.
We had the prefixe menu for Restaurant Week and chose the crispy sea bass for our entrée- it was very spicy and almost could not finish it ! We would have chosen the other item instead had we known.
Always a great meal and service at Morimoto's Asia. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion.
Excellent food and service.
The ambience, bar, view, fried fish is deboned and awesome. Waiters need to memorize table #s
It was terrible. Server was not very attentive. The portions of food were really really tiny. I ordered the seabass, but was told they ran out and they were gonna use Mahi, they didn't adjust the price. I ordered mango sticky rice, not until it got to the table they told me it was replaced with papaya. I spent $130 for 2 and I was still hungry. This place isn't anything special, it's just a better panda express, but it's 10x more expensive. I will never come back here.
Food was excellent and service was great. Everyone was very friendly.
Great selections for Hawaii Restaurant Week, from appetizers to dessert. Wagyu lettuce wraps were delicious, just messy. A finger bowl after that appetizer would have been a nice touch. Mahimahi was substituted for the branzini, method of cooking was the same-very good. Macadamia nut flan & giant doughnuts w/assorted toppings were the best end to a scrumptious meal.
Came for restaurant week menu, place was busy but food was stellar. Portions were fine, although it’s technically a tasting menu. Service professional and kind.
Server Bobby was great. Explained menu and portion. Checked on us without being irritating. Manager was hustling getting drinks and plates out of the kitchen which is great to see. He wasn’t one of those it’s beneath me types.
Before arriving at Morimoto we had received great reviews from friends that had visited 2 years prior. We were greatly disappointed at our experience at Morimoto especially with the food, everything we ordered was quite bland in taste and there didn’t seem to be enough staff scheduled on the night. The staff were visibly doing their best with having to serve a large amount of people.
Great restaurant, would like to go back.
Tasty fresh food, finger licking good.
Pork Ribs, Sushi, Garlic Prawns, yum. Would definitely go back.
Good food and service
Our table was by the door to the lanai seating area and in one instance, the door swung open and hit my chair. If I had my back up against the chair, I would have gotten hit in the head by the door. Was there for restaurant week and food was delicious, except for the Kalbi, which was overcooked and almost grainy. The 4 piece dim sum sampler was a bit underwhelming for the price. Will need to return to try some different dishes.
