Everything was great the service was quick prompt the food was excellent the only complaint if any was that the music was too loud
Great service. Very personalized. Great ambience. Pork dumplings amazing. Spicy tuna roll very good. Pepper steak was disappointing - very under seasoned. Temperature was off by a full degree -ordered medium came very med-rare.
My boyfriend ordered the Valentine special and was glad I ordered a dish also because the special would not have been enough for the two of us. The special was cooked to perfection with all the seafoods and my veal shank was soft and tender and enough to share with my boyfriend.
Wide selection of delicious dishes. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Chairs on lanai are comfortable, but very heavy and almost impossible to move.
Amazing food. Atmosphere was very nice. Seated outside on a rainy night but wasn’t wet at all. Service was attentive and quick. Can’t stress that the food was INSANELY GOOD. Ribeye is a must when you go!
Wonderful service and spectacular food! Cocktails thru dessert was phenomenal! Morimoto’s never disappoints!
We were delighted by the sincere and attentive service and very delicious food. As experienced diners, we really enjoyed the food. Dad liked it so much that we made another reservation for the following week.
The experience and table side service is what you go here for. If your super hungry, eat first. True Japanese style. Small portions.
My husband is a big fan of Morimoto so we were excited to try this place out. Unfortunately we left our dinner feeling rather disappointed. None of our dishes stood out to us in flavor and we had to wait a good 40min for our entries to arrive during which time it felt like our server stopped checking in on us. It was disappointing to see that the pork belly appetizer resembled an over cooked calamari dish and the lobster sushi roll did not compliment the delicious lobster flavor. The dumplings where okay but considering the price you just feel that the whole experience does not measure up. Considering the combination of price, underwhelming flavor and okay service I would not recommend this place unfortunately.
Four adults, two kids, one infant. Less formal atmosphere than his previous restaurant at the Modern Hotel. We're already planning our return visit at Christmas!
Upon arrival for our reservation, we were told we had to wait off to the side. Luckily it was only 10 minutes or so and it was Valentine’s Day. Once we sat down, we had a very sweet woman as our server. She provided us with her recommendations, which was helpful. She was also attentive. The food was delicious - highly recommend the tuna pizza. My husband loved the pork dumplings as well. The sushi was standard but good. We also had the almond pudding for dessert which we thought was different but tasty. All in all, we would come back again.
I must say that I had high hopes for this restaurant. I took my girlfriend here for valentines day, and nothing went right. It took 15 mins for our server to greet us. The food was mediocre and overpriced.
Food was mediocre for the price with very slow service. We regret going to this restaurant for our anniversary. What a letdown!
Came here for our 20th anniversary. My husband had the whole deep fried fish and it was absolutely delicious. I had the pork belly which was ok, also had the california sushi roll and a salad. Overall the food and atmosphere were great. Would come here again for sure.
I really wanted to give Morimoto Asia a good rating because we had good experiences at Morimoto Waikiki. What made our experience at Morimoto Asia most disappointing was the service we received. Our waiter not great. I asked about some dishes on the menu but all I got was a recap of what the menu already told me. Our glasses were empty multiple times, both water and cocktails. I had to ask for refills. I could probably go on. I am not one to complain...but I was surprised by the poor service. Maybe we were just unlucky. But we left very disappointed.
The one shining star was a young female food runner. She had a great personality and seemed to be on her game.
Premium economy class value.
My wife and I dined at Morimoto's in Waikiki for Valentines day this year after a co-worker talked the place up on a business trip. I've never watched Iron Chef and really don't care that this place is owned by him, but taken completely on it's own merits this is one of the best dining establishments we've visited on Oahu in over a year!
Parking, usually a trial in Waikiki, wasn't an issue since you can park at the resort parking (they occupy space with the Alohilani Resort - enter from Kuhio steet!) and it's FREE with ticket validation. We had a reservation and were seated promptly in the outdoor lanai with a beautiful view of the water and sunset. Our server, Kristen, deserves a particular SHOUT OUT because she was nothing short of *phenomenal*!! She was quick to greet us, made excellent food and drink recommendations, and always had a smile on her face.
We got the Tuna Pizza cold appetizer (excellent), the Dim Sum Sampler hot appetizer (great), and two sushi rolls; the "Surf and Turf" w/ the Waygu beef upgrade (well worth the upgrade - simply fantastic) and the Dragon roll (very good). My wife enjoyed some sauvignon blanc wine that she thoroughly enjoyed (that Kristen recommended) and I had a Coedo Japanese-brand Hefeweizen. Having lived in Bavaria, I am a huge fan of Hefeweizen style beers and wasn't even aware any such Japanese brand existed, but it absolutely lived up to expectations. We finished off our meal with desert, the Banana Bread pudding, and it was exactly what we were hoping for... not too sweet, very light, and delicious.
The only downside of course is the price, but frankly anywhere you eat in Town is going to run you a pretty penny and despite the cost we plan on coming back to Morimoto's at least a couple more times so we can try some of the other scrumptious sounding items on the menu.
Everything we had was excellent and the service exceptional. A wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day!
Michael was our waiter and he was PERFECT !!! Explained , recommended, checked on us , our busser cleared and topped off our water ( even our sparkling water was perfect). We started with tempura lobster roll I had the black cod and my wife had shrimp pad Thai. Everything was a 10. Price’s absolutely reasonable for this level of meal. We had the chocolate ball for dessert because we wanted the show ( served flaming ) it was very good but I think I would have a different dessert next time as it was a bit of a sugar overload. We loved this place!!!
Our server Manuel was outstanding....personable, friendly charismatic yet professional at all times.
We loved him!!!!
The waitress was amazing. She took the time to answer our questions, and did with a smile. Amazing food, amazing view, everything was just amazing. Would definitely come back again.
Qas a marvelous meal, as usual
Waikiki perfection...food, service and location. Outside Lanai requires reservation and request. Our new favorite!
Great food and service. Love the photos of the food on the wall.
Would have expected a more international wine list and more choice.
Fantastic evening -
Beautiful location, spectacular food and wait staff were exceptional ... knew their menu, friendly and attentive.
Morimoto Waikiki was exceptional from our helpful, pleasant hostess through desert. Anthony our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. He helped us pick the perfect meal. Try the short ribs and crispy whole fish. They were fantastic. Be sure to save room for desert. The chocolate sphere was tasty. However, it was made even better by the show as the sphere is melted at the table under a flame
We ordered the signature duck as recommended by the waiter. it was terrible. It was the worst duck that we have ever tasted and duck dishes are my favorites. The waiter said we would get a whole duck, but I think we got only half of the duck. It was bland other than the sauce. it was undercooked as there was blood on one sliced piece and the drumsticks were bloody. We had to carve out the bloody parts of the duck. Also, the waiter gave us only four wraps and he wanted to charge $4 for an additional four. That is ridiculous because people need more than four wraps for the duck. The wraps were too hard. overall, the duck was a terrible experience for the price. For example, down the street at Karin, they only charge $26 and we got a two-course meal. The Karin duck was deliciously and a great value. I suggest that you delete the duck from your menu. It was awful. We will be telling our friends not to try your restaurant. we had a bad experience overall. We expected better for the pice that we paid.
Our experience here was awesome love the food ! Manual was are Waiter did a traffic job will be back !
Reservations were for four people. Service was efficient. Venue VIEW of course was amazing but understandably noisy given location and the restaurant interior lighting was very low. Each of us ordered something different. The appetizer of sticky ribs were the highlight of the evening. The appetizer Cashi Bun itself was good, not great. I have been waiting for this restaurant to open and specifically went for the Buri Bop and wasn’t impressed, I have had better “authentic” at another local restaurant. (I know that each restaurant has a version but I expected more from a Iron Chef winner signature dish!) My husband ordered the veal shank and loved it; but who serves the marrow without the proper utensils to properly eat it? He had to use his knife that really did not work/fit to extract the marrow. The Kung Pao chicken was ok (you have to purchase the rice to accompany your dish) as was the Orange Chicken. We all agreed; “one and done” visit for us. One out of four satisfied isn’t good.
👍. Great place to take a date! Awesome fusion cuisine
Arrived early but they were able to accommodate our group! Server was very friendly, took the time to explain the differences between this location and the "mother ship" (different menu to adapt to local desires). Food was delivered fairly soon, so no waiting. Other wait staff kept our glasses full, cleared the table in a way that was efficient but we did not feel rushed. Overall a very nice restaurant, and everyone enjoyed their selections.
From the very start the service was great! Hostess, Drinks, food, waitress were top notch & we were privileged to meet Chef Morimoto himself! Beautiful gentleman! We will definitely be going back!
The food was delicious. Recommend the whole fried fish with a plate of the fried rice. Very unique flavor profile and quite sophisticated in presentation. Our server Michael was excellent, making lots of great suggestions. Will definitely be back soon.
Extremely loud. Service was incredibly slow - the restaurant was busy but I presume they’re used to that? We had a reserved table but once seated it took forever to get a drink or place an order. We would go long periods without being waited on. The food was fine, but not nearly worth the price. Way too expensive for the quality of the food.
It was so great, we went 2 nights in a row!!! Food was creative and tasty. Ambiance is nice too. Seating was very relaxing.
Morimoto never disappoints. We ate here Feb 4 and 6th.
Get the Ribs on apps.
We had the black cod 2times and the whole Lobster.
Always the House frites rice for the table.
The shrimp are a hassle because they leave the shell on. You get towels but......flavor is there though.
Dim sum just ok
Ask your server, they know what is going to taste good.
Absolutely splendid. We split the raw tuna pizza which was terrific. We each had beef entrees, though we never eat beef, and they were superb. Our new favorite Honolulu restaurant.
It was a great last night in Hawaii. Good food awesome views and excellent service.
