Great ambiance at this classic desert resort. Menu has been recently simplified, but excellent quality remains. Burrata and heirloom tomatoes with crisped quinoa was an excellent starter to share. Seared scallops were fresh, ample and delicious. Nice selection of side dishes, including truffle french fries. Service was excellent as usual.
Only issue is, as part of the revamped menu, is a service charge for bread service. This was the only disappointment and the policy should be reversed. No one in the Coachella Valley to our knowledge has such a charge....we would rather it just be included in the meal cost rather than feeling "nickel and dimed" at an otherwise classy place.
Overrated restaurant. The service was horrible. My guest got in a fight with the server because the server refused to bring butter with his bread (which you have to pay for, BTW). We waited forever to order, and had to pour our own wine. Had to flag the server down every time we needed something. It felt like a diner, until I got the check for $150 per person.
The tables are so close together that the staff bump into your chair every time they pass by.
There are plenty of better places in the area, and it's well worth a car ride off the hotel grounds to avoid this place.
Lovely food and ambience
Awesome place, we frequently visits and each time it’s amazing!
This was the best food I've had in a very long time. The service was amazing even the hostess was so wonderful to me. I would travel to this place again just for this restaurant.
Outstanding service from start to finish!
Birthday wishes & special desserts were over the top. Lovely evening...
Morgan’s is one of our favorite go to places in the desert!! Always a great experience. Service, ambiance and food are always spot on.
Initial reception was cold. We had originally reserved an outdoor table and when we arrived it was obvious they did not want to set the outdoor table. Once we were set outdoor the service was excellent. Way too pricy!
Disappointed this time. Food was not up to the standards in the past. Just off on all counts.
Morgan’s in the Desert is that unique and special place that you stumble over a few times.
It’s an outstanding Special Occasion restaurant .
We had a great time and our food and waiter were top shelf! My filet mignon was so tender, I didn't need a knife. We will definitely be going back at our next trip to La Quinta Resort!
Went for anniversary. Promptly welcomed and seated at nice table for 2. Then greeted soon thereafter with a cheery "happy anniversary" by our waitress. The evening was started right, and continued that way throughout. We were given all time we wanted while very attentive to our needs. We ordered salads and entrees, which were both very fresh, tasty, and served with perfect timing (not hurried, no waiting excessively). My wife's lamb saddle was prepared and presented well, albeit not the most tender ever (why only 4 stars on food). Had I rated my halibut, I would have rated 6 on a 1-5 scale as preparation, presentation, flavor was outstanding. Evening ended with an unexpected light desert treat wishing us happy anniversary in script chocolate. Great choice for our celebration. Do we recommend?- yes. Will be back? - yes.
We did a chef's table and this was absolutely well done. From start to finish beautifully orchestrated.
Celebrated our friend's birthday last Saturday at Morgan's. It was absolutely fantastic....
Ambiance, food and wine quality were wonderful, as was our waiter, Michael.
Adam greeted us promptly & offered us water. He was so pleasant, friendly & helpful.
Parker was fabulous! He took such great care of us!
They worked great together and didn’t overwhelm us.
Israel brought us our salad ... a bit more quiet but friendly.
The food was amazing! The wine Parker recommended was delish! He didn’t let our glasses get empty without hovering over us. We definitely will he back! Thank-you!
Enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service! We stayed at the hotel and celebrated our Anniversary at Morgan's, all was outstanding.
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. And Ron at the piano was incredible. This is a fantastic restaurant and a place you must go to if in Palm Springs.
It was a lovely time with delicious food and wonderful service.
Celebrating my husbands birthday. Marilyn took great care of us. Service and food was exceptional.
Celebrated my daughter’s birthday. Food was wonderful and Marilyn, our waitress, was excellent!
Overall great experience. A little loud because we were seated next to a group of 12 men. Piano music was a nice touch.
Food was outstanding, however it is very overpriced. Service was perfect!
Amazing experience! The staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was exactly what my wife and I were looking for to celebrate our second anniversary. I would go back, in a heartbeat!
Restaurant was nice and staff were pleasant and attentive. Outdoor seating was beautiful other than the incessant harassment from hoards of flies. I know there’s nothing much that can be done about that but it significantly diminished our dining experience. We were swatting away 20+ flies 100% of the time from when we got our bread until when we begged for the check. I kept my napkin over the bread and fries but to no avail, flies were all over us crawling on our face and one even got stuck on my husband’s plate. We made the reservation in the morning for 6:45pm and all that was left was outdoor seating, so unless you want to be attacked my flies, reserve well over a day in advance to ensure indoor seating. The view was great but not worth the flies. Food was also overpriced for what we got $40+ for a main dish with no sides. Won’t be returning here again when we visit La Quinta Resort in the future. We told them it was our anniversary and they presented us with a lovely desert so that was nice!
Rebekah was a wonderful, accommodating (I’m 7 mo pregnant & diabetic) server. The server’s assistant Dylan was also great. Delicious app and entree. Solid experience overall.
Restaurant was overwhelmingly noisy which made it very difficult to carry on a conversation.
We had a perfect meal. Great food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend this restaurant
Everything was perfect!
This place is very pretty and romantic, but extremely OVERPRICED!! My husband and I split a steak and got 3 sides, no alcohol and walked out a $100 poorer. The New York strip steak was just ok. The Mac and cheese (I think they called it “ macaroni gratin” was very good, the parmigiano-rosemary fries and bacon brussels sprouts were ok-ish. We had reservations at 7pm and we didn’t get our food until 7:45. We definitely won’t be going back or recommending it to friends.
Morgan’s has so much potential, but just stumbles on the execution. At first glance their menu seems alluring and the dining atmosphere is as good or better than anything in the desert. But they consistently over promise and under deliver. Food is well cooked, but lacks flavor. Drinks are sloppy and small for the prices ($19 - $22) that they charge. The service is attentive but comes across as scripted and impersonal. The bottom line is this is a beautiful dining experience and if money is no object, you might be satisfied. But when you compare Morgan’s to what you can typically expect for a $300 dinner for two, it falls short in every area.
The four of us had an outstanding dinner and the service was suburb. Morgan's is on the pricey side, however, we feel the food and service is worth the money.
Great food and service. Great setting
Loved sitting outside, and had amazing service from our server. The food was just 'ok' - we ordered 3 medium rare steaks and received 3 medium-well / well steaks which was greatly disappointing. We felt bad to ask to turn back all 3 steaks so we just ate them. The free bread, however, was fresh and tasted great. I would still recommend this place - not for the steak, but for the ambiance.
Our waiter, Steve, made the experience wonderful with his wine pairings!! We have been going for 12 years and the restaurant is always on our list when we come to La Quinta! Highly recommend!
Amazing food and excellent service! Kim went above and beyond!
One of the best meals I have ever had in the Palm Springs area. This was the June special cherry festival meal and it was stunning;y good.
$50 Corkage fee is outrageous for that restaurant. Will go to other competitors moving forward where I can bring good wine at a much cheaper corkage fee.
I’ve dined at Morgan’s many times through the years..... the dinner last Thursday has to be in my top five in the past years anywhere. Outstanding.
Patrick is a phenomenal server who really knows his stuff.
