Linda & I enjoyed a great meal in superb surroundings - the food was excellent as was the very attentive service. Can’t wait to return.
Total 5 Star experience! We celebrated 3 March birthdays and one wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect! It was a busy night in the restaurant and yet the service and ambience exceeded our exoectations.
We arrived early and asked if we could get seated. They offered outdoor. We took it but then they said most of their heaters were broken, so we ended up moving back indoors and waiting for a seat. My husband ordered the tuna and it came out cold; however, they were very friendly and attentive. The wine was excellent.
I feel the resort overall needs a bit of TLC. It came highly recommended by some friends. We travel a lot and when available, stay at 5-star resorts. This was more of a 3.5 - 4 star resort in my opinion. I feel it has the potential to be 5-star and probably was at one time. The rooms needed some updates (artwork), the bathroom showers need an upgrade, the outdoor furniture was cheap, the robes in the spa were thin and fraying, etc. For someone with an eye for detail (as we have), then it's not worth the $1000-a-night charge. We would select the Parker Palm Springs in the future.
Love this restaurant- combines gourmet cuisine and old style, warm ambience ! Thank you!
The salads were tasty and nice sized. The main entrees lacked seasoning and were dry. This was the case for the pork chops and salmon. The chocolate cake dessert was delicious. The waitress was attentive and warm.
We dine at Morgan's on special occasions 2 to 3 times each season. Morgan's dining is very good however over the past couple of years prices for appetizers, starters & entrees have increased significantly. For example, appetizers/small plates range in price from $14 to $23 and most entrees are in the $40 t0 $60 price range. Service is generally very good.
Beautiful location. Very expensive. Miserable experience. We were led to our table past palm trees. There was below grade dirt around the trees that was not marked. My husband fell and hurt himself. When he pointed out the unmarked holes to the waiter all he said was “do you want an ice pack?” Three people ordered the pork chops. They were delicious. The fourth ordered the seafood pasta. Very disappointing. All the seafood was chopped into tiny unrecognizable pieces. Tasteless. The table next to us was a party of 12. One women was so loud the entire patio was disturbed. This lasted for at least 45 minutes until we asked to be reseated. The manager apologized and said they had asked her to be quiet several times. But we were the ones who had to go inside on a beautiful evening. We were offered free additional drinks, coffee and dessert “. We declined the drinks but had dessert and coffee. Why does management think this will make customers forgive bad management? The evening only got worse. There was no valet to get our car. We waited 30 minutes. No one, not even the manager could find the valets. Finally, my husband roamed the the lots and retrieved our car. At least we saved the valet tip! I wish the delicious $40 pork chops and comped dessert would have made up for the bad experience. BTW our bill was over $300.00 not including dessert, coffee and the seafood. So we weren’t exactly free-loading.
Fabulous, As Always! I eat there whenever I am in Palm Springs/Indian Wells area. The food and service are exceptional, as is the ambience (in the La Quinta Resort). I highly recommend it!
Loved this place. Unfortunately the piano player was not there. The history is great. Had the same waiter I had in November. Not inexpensive!
Excellent on every count!
Very disappointing, we have eaten here several times and Morgan’s has been a favorite
This time it was very noisy, our waiter was distracted, rushed us through every aspect is our meal.....not attentive to details questions or our dining experience
We cancelled our reservation with friends later in the week
Prices and service were very disappointing
This is a fantastic restaurant with great service and delicious food. Love the piano bar singer, he is fabulous! Love the atmosphere of the piano bar too and the fireplace in the dining area.
Outstanding! Our family of 5 which included 3 teenagers, just came from the BNP Paribas Tennis tournament and were dressed very casually. The hostess and all staff were all so welcoming. Stunning decor and architecture. The food was incredible! Appetizers to dessert were enjoyed by all. No leftovers.
Excellent food and excellent service. Would recommend to anyone. Older crowd but usually good people...
Chef Aaron and staff were top notch. I can’t say enough. Will be back.
Great food great service. Just very expensive.
Top 5 restaurants in the desert. The manager Raphael Lopez. Consummate professional, very accommodating, tops.
Such a beautiful restaurant; such poor service!
This used to be a wonderful restaurant. It remains lovely and the menu changes sound good. . But, when your main course arrives within minutes (literally) of ordering, you know that everything was prepared well in advance. Apparently the priority has become moving people in and out as quickly as possible. Maybe hotel guests won't noice or care, but locals most certainly well.
Most civilized restaurant with excellent tho quite heavy/rich food. Would like to see some lighter fare
We had a very great dinner. The atmosphere, food and service were all terrific.
The menu was overpriced for the type of food offered. Better values in the Desert.
Going to Morgan's is always a special treat for us. it is our favorite restaurant in the desert.
I stay frequently at La Quinta and have eaten at Morgan's numerous times, but never as a single diner. my table was near the bar and the waitress was actually part of the bar staff, not the restaurant staff. when I questioned this, she said a lot of people eat here ( bar area).....
while the food was good, the service was poor. I had to refill my own water glass and when my steak arrived , not only was it not warm anymore, I had no steak knife to cut it with. its not good to try to cut a $50 steak with a dull butter knife.
I wont eat at Morgans in the bar area ever again, as they should only serve drinks in that area, not full service menu. the wait staff is focused on drinks, tips, etc... not servicing high end dining.
The food was exceptional-everyone loved their meal. The service was especially good. My new favorite spot in the desert!
Although the dishes we order were OK they were over seasoned and had to many competing flavors. Kind of like your trying to hard. The lobster was fine but the vegetable medially it was served on was over powering as was the large amount of capors served with the sea bass. recommend keep flavors complimentary with clean and supporting.
It was a birthday and they made our guest feel acknowledged and special. The food was creatively prepared and very delicious. Our waitress was knowledgeable about each aspect of every dish too.
My boyfriend and I came here for the first time to celebrate our first year anniversary and we had a wonderful experience! Everything we ordered (including many fancy drinks) was excellent! The service was impeccable and they made us feel very special with 2 desserts and a candle. We’ll definitely be back again and, hopefully, it’ll be warmer and less windy so we can tour the grounds.
We ate here a year ago and remembered it fondly as a fine dining experience with an excellent server, good menu selection and fine food. This year, the food was fair on a substantially different menu. The service was acceptable, though the final total on the check was $70 more than the true fare (most likely an honest error). In any event, there was not much to delineate that would cause us to return in the near future.
Waited 1/2 hour for our reservation . Were there almost 2 hours eating . No wonder they were so behind in reservations ... way too slow!! The manager said she would buy a round of drinks.. never saw the drinks . With so many good restaurants in the area I would try others ...unless you like 2. 1/2 hour dinners . Not what I would expect from a Waldorf . Been coming for 5 years and I think this is our last time here.
Melissa was outstanding with her knowledge of the menu, and personable demeanor. Ambiance is wonderful.
Classy, country club vibe. Cocktails and wine were devine. Food was fine and more traditional in approach. Management is top notch but our waiter was not. After dropping a tray of dirty dishes when clearing the table (accidents can happen) he needed to be reminded to remove the soiled table cloth and then again to replace it. It was a funny but not fun experience.
Service was good but the food could be better.
Excellent service by the staff, manager provided extra attention when we commented to our waitress of a New Years foil up. Our waitress was attentive to our needs and made great recommendations including having the young sommelier make an amazing recommendation for our meal. He is amazing a GEM, don’t loose him! We hope to see him on our next visit in March
The chef is obviously very talented but it would not appeal to most people’s taste. With a good bottle of wine (about $120), the bill was still approaching $400. No desire to go back.
Service was very slow with a lot of confusion as to who our waiter was.
This was our second time visiting Morgans and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. We were looking forward to the dinner as we remembered enjoying it thoroughly a couple of years earlier.
The issue wasn't that the food was bad, it wasn't. It was just OK and for the prices you are paying there, just OK isn't good enough. The only two people out of 8 who actually thought the meal was outstanding had the Pork Chops and the Short Ribs. I guess the rest of us should have followed suit. Three folks had the fish special which they said was good, but again not great.
The service was exceptional as well and we never felt rushed or ignored and I believe we may have been the latest reservation that night (at 7:45 mind you) since the restaurant had cleared out by the time we finished.
I don't know that we would return to Morgan's any time soon.
Nice ambience, limited menu, poor value. I would have expected more, meals sub par.
Absolutely loved it!!!! After calling to let them know, I arrived a bit late for my dinner reservation and the dining room was ten minutes away from closing. I was told by the hostess that I had to be served at a bar table, and there I sat for a moment... Wasn't feeling it. So, the hostess having left for the night, I shared with my server, Zeinab, that I was in the mood for the more serene, formal setting, and BOOM! She did not hesitate to relocate me to the dining room table of my choice -- table cloths, lovely lighting, view of their beautiful, roaring fireplace -- much more elegant ambiance overall. It had become a "private" dining room by that time, but it was perfect! After that initial hiccup, it was pure magic and brilliance all the way. Best beet salad ever!! (Beets; beet puree; whipped herbed goat cheese; fresh, delectable greens; and a light, simple vinaigrette) Main course was PERFECTLY cooked salmon served with eggplant medallions, and truffle cauliflower puree, etc. Heaven on a plate!!! Dessert was excellent too. Sort of a "deconstructed" lemon meringue pie. I appreciated the creative presentation and thoroughly enjoyed all the elements except the lemon sorbet, which was seriously citrusy -- a bit on the aggressive side for me but others might like it. All in all it was a superb dining experience, with the cuisine matched by (or possibly even topped by) the fabulous service. Many hands were on deck even at that late hour. The shining star among them was Zeinab, but all were very gracious and personable, and seemed absolutely committed to making sure I was a happy diner -- and I was!
We had a table for 6 for my wife’s birthday. Food was good, service was lousy.. what a shame!
Anthony was a great server
