Menu was minimal due to COVID-19 I guess, disappointing...steak was ordered medium and was bloody rare even after sending back for a “quick fix”
A family getaway to La Quinta Resort. A private dinner for 2 for our anniversary
Delicious food in a safe socially distanced environment. Heaters worked wonderful!
Very fine service and pleasant atmosphere, food and wine both good. Complimentary dessert for our anniversary was a nice touch.
Went here for my wife's birthday. Was pleasant enough and food was good, service excellent. Whenever you go to restaurant in a high end resort like this you know you are going to pay, so the prices were higher than I am used to paying and the portions were on the smaller size but still filling. The one main criticism was that we chose this location based off of their menu posted online only to find out that several of the items were not listed on the printed menu we were given like charbroiled king salmon and grilled octopus. When I pointed this out the servers were apologetic and expressed disbelief that the menu on the website had not been updated. So my advice would be to call ahead to confirm the menu items for that evening. Oh and several reviews on Yelp mentioned the view, but we were in a courtyard and the only view I had was of my gorgeous wife (good enough for me!) and the waiters table with the register and glassware stacked up. lol
We always enjoy a night out at Morgan's. We celebrated the beginning of the holiday season with our son and his family enjoying the delicious cuisine while viewing the beautiful Christmas tree. The resort and Morgan's is the perfect place for any occassion.
Our first dinner at Morgan’s is likely the first of many. The experience was excellent from start to finish. It was not inexpensive, but worth it for a special treat. Food was excellent, fabulous lamb, scallops and sea bass. Our server was very attentive.
Great great food and great service and beautiful atmosphere
Birthday dinner
Such an amazing restaurant- the food was sublime- not our first time- but was even better than I remembered. Great wine list with some of our favourite Grgich wines.
.
Service was excellent. Chef was able to make a delicious alternative no garlic or onion duck dish that had an amazing sauceA. No problem. Such a treat for me.
.
We sat out on the patio and they had plenty of heaters to keep us warm on a cool night.
.
Celebrating something- you should go here!!
Great food and atmosphere. Great pace for dinner. A little pricey, but worth it.
Excellent steak, fresh oysters and chocolate bomb dessert. Service was disappointing. Hostess seemed irritated we asked to change tables. Waitress was slow, did not manage the timing of food with the kitchen, brought a completely different wine than ordered. Definitely not Waldorf Astoria experience.
Was definitely disappointed, starting with having to pay $6 for some bread service. Salmon was not wild caught, but was farm raised in Montana? Jimmy Schmidt would not allow this, but since he is no longer involved with the restaurant, I guess anything goes. My wife’s steak was decent, but we can get decent just about anywhere, and for a lot less than $53! There was one bright spot, and it was the mushroom and dark truffle risotto, but again, the price; $39? With tip our bill came to over $300, and only ordered a $60 bottle of wine. Not good when the most memorable part of the dining experience was the check!
This is one of the finest restaurants in the desert where everything is perfect,
Great place! I will be back. Solid A just can’t give it an Aplus but no specific problems or issues. Great place! I did the tasting menu w the wine pairing. Excellent! Had an excellent drink at the bar before dinner! Go!
My wife and her parents have eaten here several times. Typically, the food is good. The service is very good, and the ambience is exceptional. On our most recent visit, our entrées were delivered before appetizers twice and there seem to be some confusion amongst the service staff. I really love the architecture and ambience of the La Quinta resort, which makes coming here special for us. The food is fairly priced, but the drinks are overpriced. It has never been a five-star experience, but it does feel like a special night out.
The service and quality of dining experience best in the desert. Highly recommend!
Always love dining at Morgan’s. Great room, food is good. However, not a great experience with our server this time. Rushing us through the menu, rude to us. Didn’t offer any pepper or refill wine glasses. It wasn’t that busy in our section so not really understanding what was going on with him. Maybe a bad day at home
We had a perfect dinner in a party of 8 with clients and friends. Great food and flawless service.
We had to wait over 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. After that... the service improved greatly
We have gone to Morgan’s twice before and weren’t too impressed. It was our anniversary so decided to give it another chance. For a fine dining establishment the food is mediocre at best. Will not be returning. We have enjoyed much better food recently for a much better price.
Corkage fee is WAY too high!! Needs to be changed or I will choose another restaurant.
I don’t believe I ever given a rating this low. Every part of the experience at Morgan’s was a fail. To start the evening we were blocked from valet “due to a VIP event” and directed to “park on the street or wherever we can”. Because we couldn’t find a place to park we were running late and tried to call the restaurant, but there was no answer. We finally were able to find parking a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. Once we arrived there were no apologies even though we had to explain why were late for our reservation. While the food was very good, the service was rushed and our wait staff missed two parts of our order. She clearly was not listening. Very disappointing.
The service was great. Steve was so great. We have eaten at Morgan’s several times but this will be the last. The fish was bland and greasy. So expensive for the quality. The brussel sprouts were hardly cooked and oily too. We were celebrating a birthday and again Steve was great and brought a beautiful dessert. The best things were the truffle fries.
Absolutely fabulous in every respect: setting, food, service. Morgan's and La Quinta Resort are together truly Queen of the Desert!
Great setting, great food, excellent service but the management failed to remove a too loud boorish table which severely diminished the experience.
The food and service was superb - thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and we were a slightly large group.
I was not particularly impressed with my filet mignon which was over priced. Side dishes were much better - great ambience and staff was good.
Best meal I have had I the desert this season!
Wedding next door made it impossible to hear.
Delicious dining experience at La Quinta Resort! We had great service and thoroughly enjoyed our food. My wife had the seabass and I had the salmon and both dishes were prepared perfectly. The Pride Mountain Chardonnay paired nicely with our fish dishes and the deconstructed key lime pie dessert was superb!
Our waiter was terrible. And rude. Our bus boy was amazing and made up for it with his awesome
Personality
Food and service were excellent. Not inexpensive but very good.
Food & service awful. Big wedding must have been the reason. Sorely disappointed
We enjoy visiting La Quinta Resort in Palm Desert and staying on property for a nice meal. This visit to Morgan's was mediocre, we were charged for bread to the table (nickle and dimed?), and worst of all the fish was served raw and cold in the middle. Not expected of sea bass, the cold center was not good and we ended up leaving over half of the meal uneaten. We will likely question visiting Morgan's and instead look for other options on our next visit.
Maybe an off night for the kitchen since we’ve had great experiences here before but this was one of the worst meals we’ve had. It was late and we didn’t want to start sending food back or complain but probably should have.
Dinner was fantastic and our waitress was phenomenal. She was sweet, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and very engaging. My wife and I will return to Morgan's for a number of reasons, but she is at the top of our list. Great hire by Waldorf.
Rushed! David Parker was our server. Very rushed
Always amazing food
Great food and Michael was best server ever.
