The meal was great. The service was not so good. The waiter we had to ask over and over to get drinks, fill water, never asked how was out meal and he had B. O. We go there every other month, today was bad service. It’s normally great.
Food was excellent! Nice meal, yet kid friendly all at once!!
The food here has significantly improved over the past year! It’s our “go to” spot on Sunday evenings. Sometimes we go upstairs for alligator tail, tuna and/or burgers or sliders. Often we dine downstairs and eat delishious seafood. All with a great water view. Enjoy!
Food is always quite good at Morgan Creek Grill, including this time... although the menu has changed and old favorites of mine, like spinach salad with seared scallops, is no longer available. I normally eat downstairs in main dining, but there is a great comfort-food area upstairs and an outside bar, as well.
Charming waitperson and great views.
We always enjoy our experience at Morgan Creek Grill! We had friends from out of town, and we wanted to eat out with a water view! All four of us enjoyed our meal, and the service was excellent. We will return, as we always do.
We make a point to eat at Morgan Creek Grill every time we visit Charleston. The food is great and the Bloody Mary bar is a big draw!
We arrived and a table of 25 was arriving at the same time. We were seated first. Took a long time for our server to come to take a drink order Then I noticed he was tending to the table of 25 of which only half were seated. Another 4 top was then seated after us at the next table everything went downhill. We waited forever for our food, mine was cooked all wrong had to beg to get more coffee. Had to beg to get him to bring some bread or a biscuit as we were staving from waiting so long and to top it off the 4 top that came in after us got their food ahead of us.
Never again!! This place is off my list. I must say they did take my meal that was prepared incorrectly off the bill. That was the least they could do
Visit to Isle of Palms
Great place for family dinner!
Good food and great views. Our server was good but it took a long time to get our food. Over all a pleasant experience.
Reservation was for 6 pm and we arrived at 5:30 pm. We were seated early and by the time we left at 7:30 pm it was crowded and people were waiting.
The food was scrumptious especially the bacon, cream, scallions scallop appetizer. The calamari was cooked to perfection as well as the Fried Green Tomatoes. Delicious indeed. The tomato with saffron broth with clams, mussels, shrimp, and nuts of fish with bread was superb.
The beef broth with ramen noodles, however was a disappointment. It was a salty gravy of noodles too al dented for me. The grilled shrimp added which were over cooked made the dish a salt sludge.
Dessert of chocolate cake and the last piece of key lime pie made the meal the perfect ending to our spring break from the frigid Midwest.
If you subscribe to opentable as a proprietor then honor the terms and seat your party on time. We checked in 15 minutes early and sat right next to the hostess stand at the bar. After waiting 15 minutes past our 8:45 reservation we approached the hostess again who looked like she had never seen us before and looked up our reservation (again) And hurriedly day us
Waited over an hour for food which arrived seared and way too over cooked. I complained and the manager was kind and accommodating but I didn’t eat that night unfortunately.
We had out of town guests for overnight. We had one opportunity to take them to a typical restaurant for their Charleston adventure. We chose Morgan Creek. It was the right choice. The place was packed , vibrant , and exciting. Service was a little slow but I did not see one employee who wasn't moving at the speed of light. THEY HAD SOFT SHELL CRAB! so I was very happy and it was very good. We stayed for 2 hours enjoying the view, the atmosphere and our friends. No one rushed us and our server was friendly and very helpful.
Food was good. The app of fried green tomatoes was excellent. The atmosphere was excellent. The restaurant sat right on the water. Our service was very good.
Fresh fish and a great view! The food was very good, restaurant was busy but service was prompt. We’ll be back.
Abysmal service - this place has serious challenges in basic execution; food is passable and drinks come out relatively quick - I would only recommend if you want to stay on the Isle to eat and are in no hurry
We had reservation but had to wait 35 minutes for a table and there was total indifference from management for the wait- no apologies. This is obviously a tourist oriented restaurant. Service was terrible, server was inattentive, there was no kind of ambiance, restaurant was so dark that no one could read menus. Asked for water for small child, never got it. Appetizers served but no bread plates or small plates offered for sharing them. Friend ordered beer that took 30 minutes to get. No one ever checked back to see if everything was okay. I would not recommend this restaurant for dining and I am a local!
Awesome food, view, service and atmosphere! I had the scallops... Delicious!
A great choice for Easter brunch and birthday celebration, also would have liked another choice for meat like turkey.
We liked the location and the service a lot. Just wish the food was better. We really wanted to love it but it was just ok.
Food was great. We waited 20 minutes for a server to even make it over to the table (like not even for water), and then food was very slow. Our server was very pleasant and capable - I’m guessing they were sorely understaffed. Loved the view from the window but another patron had her cell phone flash light on and flashed it around for what seemed like forever. I hope our experience was a one off because the setting is lovely and the meal was tasty once we got it.
This is one of our favorite Brunch places to go. We always enjoy meeting friends and family and enjoy the view, while having great food and service.
Had reservations for dinner, a must for Saturday night. Our waiters was thorough and attentive but getting our food took too long. We enjoyed everything when we got it; fried green tomatoes, seafood stew, pork chop with collars and mashed potatoes, potato crusted fish....
Food mediocre. Setting great. I have not enjoyed the food but cime for setting
The food was good. But the hostess was terrible & had no clue what she was doing. It was a special night that was not acknowledged and they sat us next to a table of 20 people w a view of the kitchen! You couldn’t even have a conversation!
Overall a good experience. View is awesome. Food was good, to very good. A little pricey for some items that didn't look too impressive. She Crab soup as an appetizer. Good, not fabulous, but price was great for 5/6 for cup/bowl. My daughter had a Ramen bowl for $18 and added shrimp for $11. The shrimp were plain and had nothing on them at all. Very plain dish for $29. I had crab cakes and they were good, nothing to write home about, but I was not displeased. That dish was $19, I thought was reasonable for real crab cakes and two sides. My wife had a scallop chef special for $32, she said it was good, but $32 seemed a bit high for what it was, but once again, not displeased. My son had fried oysters mac and cheese. It was enough for 2 people easy. He said it was good, fried oysters on top looked good. $19 or so if I remember. Not bad since it had 8-10 fried oyster on the top. Service was great, atmosphere is quiet and view is great.
Portions were a bit small, but very good tasting. Could have offered some bread prior to dinner to make up for the small portions.
It’s all that and then some. First go to every year when we arrive😋
Loved it. Our waitress, Angela, was fabulous.
With an oyster roast going outside and a party in full swing, you'd have never known in our cozy little corner! I mentioned date night in our reservation and the restaurant did a great job ensuring we had a quiet evening. Our server was excellent with recommendations and was prompt but not overbearing. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!
Great atmosphere being on the water. Good service. Food was great except for the mashed potato side.
Fun, high energy.
Beautiful view, cozy atmosphere.
Delicious, creative food.
Not good. Long waits. Sent meal back twice to be warm enough to eat and it wasn’t comped.
Beautiful sunset. Shrimp and grits was good but not great. Nice casual place with great location.
Both of us Did not enjoy the food. A place to visit for cocktails only.
Morgan Creek Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. This restaurant has good food, excellent service and a beautiful location. We loved listening to the guitarist play for Valentine's Day and the passion fruit martini was so delicious!
I went here for Valentine's Day and I loved it! No wait, price was great, nice quiet atmosphere overlooking the water. A live band was playing and it was amazing! We had the fried shrimp appetizer which was really great. My date and both had the Chicken Piccatta and we loved it! I love the location of the restaurant, very secluded, like a best kept secret. We traveled from Summerville and it was so worth it! We will be back! This is my new favorite restaurant!
It was Valentine’s Day. The food and service was great.
The Morgan Grill never disappoints. Fantastic seafood dishes, great service in a laid back atmosphere. Wonderful.
