We eat lunch there quite often and have never been disappointed. This was our first Sunday brunch at Morgan Creek. It was crowded. The reason we gave service a "good" was because we arrived (with reservations) at 12:00 Noon but did not get served our food until nearly 1:00PM. A carafe of Mimosa's came within minutes of ordering. The kitchen was obviously backed up. We'll chalk this up to an anomaly.
We use to dine here on a regular basis when we lived in Mt. Pleasant and always enjoyed it. We all agreed our brunch visit while visiting this weekend was not what we were use to. Maybe it was an off day. Food wasn’t anything special and the service was slow. It’s still a great setting and maybe we will try again for lunch or dinner.
Great as always! Fresh food, always perfect. Views are awesome!
This is a fun place and the food was excellent. I have been here many times before and will come back again.
The food was not that great, but the view was beautiful! Parking was tough to find.
Our table - and most of the room - was on a steep angle - very noticeable. The food (striped bass, steak, shrimp) was average - and not at all on par with the many other restaurants we enjoyed in Charleston area. Would not recommend dining room, but the outside casual bar looked fun.
Good food. Wonderful atmosphere. Outstanding service!
The food was solid. The service was a little slow but the staff was very friendly. A nice view to enjoy while eating. Overall I’d recommend Morgan Creek Grill.
We ate at this restaurant our first and than again last nights on isle of Palms. First night food quite good but noise level bad. The last night noise level not so bad but food not so good—She Crab soup was thick and old, not fresh. The salad interesting and as advised by the waitress. We watched an amazing sunset as advertised but seated so people kept opening the door directly behind me and going out for pictures— annoying. Great wait staff and timely service. And love the location.
Overall OK. They were out of the entree my wife wanted, and my choice was at best average as far as quantity or taste. I would give them another try, but not for a while.
The food was delicious. I had grouper over grits and collards, very good. My husband had black eyed peas, pimento cheese and rice with shrimp and scallops. Also very good. Our server was the disappointment. Unfortunately, a great meal can be diminished by bad service and that was the case for us. We were there for the first time and it was our anniversary - we were disappointed.
Wish Morgan Creek would bring back that amazing warm spinach salad w goat cheese. That was the best salad anywhere!
Morgan Creek is one of our favorites when we want to be on the water. The food is consistently good, we love the spaghetti squash dish with shrimp. An unusual combination of flavors and incredibly tasty. Service was a little slow, but then it improved after our drinks. Our out of town guests loved everything about Morgan Creek.
This was my first time at Morgan Creek Grill. The view was enjoyable and the menu had many choices.
We started with the calamari which was disappointing. The portion size was small and the calamari was more fried batter than actual squid. And at $11, it could have been much better.
My friend had the pecan crusted flounder which was a generous portion that was quite tasty. I had the blackened salmon which was way too small a portion for someone with a good appetite that night.
We ended the meal with Key lime pie which was quite nice.
All in all, if Morgan Creek Grill wants to be competitive in the Charleston food market, it needs to address these issues before I would return.
This was a beautiful location!
Very nice. Brunch.
Service is painfully slow. The chef refused to cook my steak properly. Left without eating anything. Very disappointing to start off vacation. Always been good before, not sure what happened. Not recommended at all.
Good food, excellent professional service. Great views. Only issue was finding parking.
This is a great restaurant. The food was delicious . We ate on the outside deck off the dining room. The service was awesome. And oh that view!!!
Burnt appetizer, burnt entrees, patronizing waitress. I have eaten at fish camps and had a much better experience with significantly better food at a fraction of the cost. It was my birthday and not even one mention of it even though it was included in the reservation information. We will never go back to this over priced and over rated restaurant.
This place has a great vibe and amazing views. The service was excellent, as our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. The food would be worth the price if better prepared. Everything was drenched in salt, and yet not very flavorful. I suggest getting a new chef and upping their game to match the environment.
Our meal was delicious and the sunset beautiful! We would highly recommend!
They were very busy that saturday night. While there was nothing wrong with the food, there was nothing special or outstanding . Salads were just your basic salad. The grilled salmon was a bit over salted. The location of the restaurant are very nice and the views of the waterway can't be beat.
Great food and great location! The only negative was that we were seated next to a very rambunctious (loud) group of eight party-goers.
Excellent service, great food and wonderful atmosphere.
We had a great time even though we were seated next to two large groups that were very noisy. Should have asked to be moved. It was our first night here on Wild Dunes and wanted a restaurant that was close by and scenic—that was fulfilled. The fish a tad overdone and side dishes just warm, but our waitress was very busy. She was pleasant and trying. We shared a meal so we could have dessert and that was yummy. We looked out over the marina on a creek and for us that was perfect.
Nice place for brunch. Loved sitting by the water.
Enjoyable but a little overpriced for what we had, cup of soup and wedge salad with oysters. Oysters were delicious but rest was average
I really wanted to like this place. It seems from previous reviews that if you are in the main dining room, your experience is different from the upper deck. We thought that it would be a nice way to end our weekend in Charleston. We ordered drinks and my husband’s beer was flat. They replaced it yet charged us for both beers. We ordered she crab soup and it was lukewarm. My husband had the gnocchi and I had greasy fish and chips. Both were nothing special. They were not hot/more like reheated. Definitely not worth the price. We won’t be back
Loved everything from the ambience to the food to our server:)
Good food as always. We were a little surprised that they were out of several items in the truncated brunch menu.
Great place for food service ambience view thank yiu
Love Morgan Creek Grill. It's our go to place when in IOP. The food ,the service and ambiance is always great. We really enjoyed the singer/ guitarist on Valentine's day was a nice touch.
Was there with my wife & daughter for Valentines Day. Lisa was our server and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. She was kind, very attentive and left us wanting for nothing!
The food was great and the menu offered a nice variety (try the crab dip appetizer!)
Big kudos to the the restaurant too, for their no plastic straws policy. Drinks are served in real glass, not plastic cups, and with NO straws!
The service and food was great! Oh and you can’t beat the view of the marina. Highly recommend
The squash pasta and shrimp was excellent as was the fried captains choice. The flounder stuffed with crab and orzo was very dry. Service was great but place was empty so we were well cared for. Eaten here many times but won’t get flounder again.
Outstanding staff! They made a night out as a couple with a 2 month old very relaxing and special. The restaurant is beautiful and feels so cozy on a cold night overlooking the water. We will be back! The food was creative and enjoyable for an excellent price!
Always excellent food and one of our favorites for a date night. This time, even though it was not crowded, our service was a little slow once our waiter seated a large party. We were almost finished so this was a little frustrating. Other than that, wonderful! Swordfish and brussell sprouts are amazing.
Cold soup that was sent back twice, from 3 people. Cole slaw that was runny & terrible. Fried shrimp that the breading fell off from the runny COLE slaw. 3 other had fish that was good but very very small portions.
The staff at Morgan Creek Gill is outstanding and on top of everything. Being a table of 10 for Sunday brunch and not having to wait for any thing was just a treat. The brunch menu is super affordable and the food is amazing. I suggest if your thinking about having a relaxed brunch with an amazing view this is the place to go.
