Overbooked, good once seated
This is an *extremely* poorly run restaurant, the WORST I’ve ever seen or experienced. We had a reservation through OpenTable for 9:30pm on Saturday and we arrived on time, but it took us 10 minutes to locate the “manager” (white dude with dark hair but dyed bleach blonde on the top) — supposedly the only person acting as the host and managing reservations. Once we found him, we were told it could be “hours” before we’d be seated, the manager literally said with an exasperated tone “EVERYONE has a reservation at 9:30” as if I was at fault and in the wrong for reserving ahead of time and asking to be seated LOL a literal joke and horrifically rude. There were throngs of patrons (probably 30-40 people) spilling out the front door all waiting for tables with no distancing or masking enforced. It was a total scene. They very clearly cannot manage their reservation system. When we eventually got a table (about 30 minutes later), the *only* saving grace on service was our server (I now unfortunately forget her name) who was lovely, attentive, and apologetic for the chaos and earlier poor treatment. The food was decent and the ambiance was cool, but we just couldn’t get passed the initial horrible service and the absolute circus at the front door. Oh, and, they refuse to serve tap water. The only option for water is a $5 bottle of Evian. Disgusting. Will not be back. Ever.
I would give 0 stars for service if I could. We made a reservation and waited an hour to be sat. Once sat we waited over an hour for drinks. At no point we’re we offered water or anything until one of our table members complained.
Will not be returning. Would not recommend. The staff was too busy taking shots with every table to provide timely service. When your drinks finally do come whoever drops them off decides it’s appropriate to take a shot with you.
The service wasn’t great, our server took forever and made several mistakes with our order and the bill throughout the night. On the other hand, the food was really good.
Great restaurant for a date night or even family night.
The night we were there, they didn’t have much servers. (Tuesday night) Our server took a while at the end to bring us our bill, because she was too busy taking shots with another table lol overall, she did take care of us when we first sat down. The food was pretty decent, the prices for the appetizers were a little insane. It was like ordering a entree for the same price. The pastas were really good, def tasted fresh.
The absolute worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. There are so many things that happened from no one wearing masks, to not bringing us cutlery or plates, but, really the manager server and owner were the worst of it all. We felt unsafe uncomfortable and scared. We were yelled at by the owner and manager when we complained that the dish had the ingredient we had said to let the kitchen know to leave out because our friend is severely allergic. They proceeded to say they don’t care and we can call our dads but they are calling the cops. Honestly, not even sure where to go from here. We feel upset scared deflated and helpless. They said we can speak to the hotel. The hotel said they are not even affiliated and they keep deflecting to them. We paid for the entire meal minus that one dish our friend was allergic to. It got so bad, we were all shaking and you could see fear in our servers eyes. In the end the sever offered to take money out of her own pocket to split our bill a 5th because of the harassment we faced. I see a lot of other People have experienced this and I hope this restaurant gets exposed for its disgusting behaviour. Please tell everyone you know to avoid this place at all costs. Please.
Don’t understand why we had to pay for water, and service was horrible, waited 45 minutes for our food, and waitress barely tried to attended to us
Staff were friendly and attentive.
They value their customer experiences and do all possible to ensure that you are truly satisfied. We had a fabulous time, right ambiance for us, food was amazing and we would definitely go back !! Highly recommended👍🥂
I requested to be seated outdoors on the reservation and also called in to make sure it was for outdoors. Once we got there a man at the door was very rude and kept saying the outdoor tables are fully booked. I am 9 months pregnant and did not feel comfortable sitting in doors. I kept telling him I requested an outdoor table. He finally reluctantly gave us a table outside and then spoke to the Owner in their language and you could tell he was speaking about us. The waitress took awhile to come over but she was friendly. The food was good but not sure if it was worth the experience given how we were treated. I would not go back there.
Fabulous authentic Italian food. We had the Kale salad and the Caesar salad, several pastas and a couple pizzas. All excellent. Restaurant has an energetic upscale vibe. Would definitely come back. It may be higher priced than certain other Italian restaurants but the quality is well worth it. Portion sizes are large too.
Worst service and food quality ever! I’m a foodie and I love trying different restaurants. I’ve been to restaurants with bad food but the attitude of the employees made me forget about the food taste! I usually don’t write reviews but at this restaurant I had such an unpleasant experience that I had to share. The servers are not trained well and they don’t know how to serve the wine bottle, we ordered a bottle of wine and she didn’t ask us to taste at all, she poured in glasses and left the table. Then we received everything at once! All the main and appetizers got to our table at once without asking! So we had to ask them to take away our main foods and bring back later. Once they brought the mains back, they were cold!!!!! And one order missing! Ugh unbelievable! We asked for the manager and he said I’ll give the table discounts! Once we received the bills only had that missing order which arrived late removed from the bill and no discounts! On top of that, we were charged for a different bottle of wine which was more expensive and we had to call the manager to fix that again!!!! There were also an extra charge on our pasta which was not matching with the menu! Oh did I forget to mention that the food was tasting so bad that neither of us could finish our meal and our plates were left behind almost untouched! The atmosphere was so crowded with no music! So loud that you could barely here what the person sitting in front of you is talking about. DON’T WASTE YOU TIME TRYING OUT THIS RESTAURANT!
We waited 34 minutes to get our bill…
Amazing food and service
Horrible service. But the worst part was that I have an anaphylactic nut allergy and I asked if the tiramisu had nuts in it, the waitress said no so I took a bite. She came back and said oh actually it does… couldnt tell us what was in it and only apologized. The dish was still on our bill. Unacceptable from a restaurant, servers should know the menu. The manager will be getting a call from me tomorrow.
The steak should come on a bigger board or a plate to keep the contents off table
Food was very delicious!
Sangria was amazing!
We arrived to moretti very excited and eager to eat some good food and enjoy a night out in Toronto. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with our experience. Our server was not friendly, and seemed like she had better things to do than serve our table. She continuously had her mask off her face when she would talk to us and we still had a hard time hearing her all night. Someone at the table had an allergy to cilantro, and she ordered the salmon, which had micro greens on top- one of which was cilantro. Our server was informed when we ordered our appetizers, yet it was on her plate and she ended up ingesting it. She had to leave the table and I had to ask our server to take the plate away after telling her there was cilantro in her food. When she came back, our server barely apologized and took about 10 minutes to offer her anything else. When she didn’t order anything else, she took the menu away and didn’t bother to say anything else or wait our table the rest of the night. Overall, the service really ruined the experience for us. Extremely disappointed.
Perfect place for a date night! Yummy food, lively ambiance, modern decor. Even thought kitchen closed at 10 pm, we were able to stay until about 12 (the bar looked busy too). Great service too!!
Great atmosphere and food! Overall perfect experience for my birthday
The pasta was disgusting to be completely honest. SOO overcooked. Salads were overdressed. Waitress was lovely food runners were terrible.
The food was amazing. But service was very slow and bad.
It was a great evening. The staff and food excellent. It was a very busy evening and the service was outstanding. Can’t say enough about the food.
Absolutely incredible meal and service from start to finish!! Best Italian food we've had in all of Toronto! Highly highly recommend! Unbelievably delicious food.
Lovely restaurant! The food was yummy could use a little more flavour but overall still good and the portion sizes were great. Our server was kind of all over the place though but she was very nice lol.
The worst service I have ever had
Drinks took 50 minutes.
Took the waitress 20 minutes to figure out how to work the machine
Yasem was great ! Thanks girl!!!!
Server was rude and dismissive. Food was subpar
Incredible Italian food. Incredible ambiance. Always a great experience at Moretti.
Oysters and octopus were great! Pasta was a little on the oily side. Bar service was slow to start but great overall.
I absolutely loved my experience at Moretti! Everything from the service to the food was great, sitting inside was also a plus! I will definitely be coming back!
The staff is super friendly. Thank you
Was very disappointed on the lack of protocols and PPE requirements in the bar and front door in particular as the night progressed - the team did not do a good job managing crowds and making patrons feel safe. We were ultimately disappointed.
The service was a bit slow .. and the drinks were to good . The blender was apparently broken
Chicken parmigiana was tough to chew. You wouldn’t expect that from chicken.
Outside of that, the service and other menu items were outstanding.
Delish! Great food and staff. Felt safe with hygiene and desk wearing.
Such great energy! Amazing ambiance and the food was incredible!
Amazing experience the food was very tasty
Fantastic job greeting our party upon entry to the restaurant which was beautiful and well organized. The staff were super upbeat and cheerful. It was my brothers birthday and we felt very well looked after.
I will say the portion of the fritto misto was minimal for the price. I think there was 3 shrimps, 1 scallop and 5 pieces of calamari . I know there is a premium price for seafood but it was a light platter.
The Americana pizza is incredibly expensive maybe because the toppings were sparse?
My only other feedback is that a party was sat right by our table and considering the restaurant was practically empty just seemed unnecessary considering the current situation. We had a 5pm reservation so I get the need to create ambiance but seating right by us made things a little uncomfortable.
I work in the industry so I really appreciate the effort and hard work of all your employees I just wanted to give some insight.
