I'll not over exaggerate if i say that pretty much every single dish that we've try was delicious. Mussels are very flavorful, octopus was great with a different twist. Good drinks and the server was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Very disappointing no ambiance slow service for a Ricketts property I expected much more maybe lunch but many better dinner choices
Steaks were not very substantial and we were surprised a sports themed restaurant served s NY Strip with meager dainty vegetables no potato
This is a guys place isn’t it?

We tried Brunch at Mordecai on the weekend and were delighted! Mordecai is probably better known as a trendy bar that serves delicious cocktails but they have added some brunch options to their menu that make the try-out a must! Wonderful service, knowledgeable, attentive and not too much and not too little. Will return for dinner (and brunch too) in the near future.

I had an excellent meal with 3 colleagues (travelling for business and were staying at Hotel Zachary). The food and drinks were well prepared and the service was excellent. Gonzalo was very helpful, and Alex made us feel very welcomed and provided some of the best beverage conversation I've had at a restaurant in a long time. He knows his spirits and his wine very well and we got some great recommendations and great drinks made. The cocktails here stand out. We had 3 NY Strips and 1 pork chop; all delicious. The curds and the octopus appetizer were great too. Beignets for dessert with the popped sorghum was a great finish.

We had a great time with Tom. Initially went in for one cocktail, ended up staying for more rounds and some food. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Great place for cocktails. Nice to have another spirit forward spot close to home. Thanks for a memorable night, we will definitely be back!

Feels like a hotel restaurant (it is). Priced like a very nice steakhouse but the food quality doesn’t match. You’re better off going to Big Star next store for better food and way better prices.

We are not sure if this was an off night, but the food was really not good. The fish and chips came with one fried piece of fish that was about 3" in diameter-- along with fries (which were fine.) It was a ridiculously small portion, and the fish itself was super fishy. The brat, which had a funny taste but was OK, came with nothing-- big plate, with just a brat. Served very unattractively. The burgers were fine. We asked for ketchup-- wait staff apologized that it took so long because they "had to go upstairs to get it." Really? Then we asked for mustard and were told they didn't have mustard. I replied-- you serve brats! About 5 minutes later, mustard appeared. Very disappointing. Can only imagine that it was a very very off night.

Everyone was kind, and the aesthetic is beautiful. On top of that the food was so good. We all got different things and we shared bites and I couldn’t pick a favorite honestly.

Pretty unimpressive. I had hope for a nice restaurant in the Zachary, but this was average bar food, and in a cold space, termperature and other-wise. They had only one Irish whiskey choice and my fish and chips consisted of one small piece of fish.

We really wanted to like this recent Wrigleyville addition. Unfortunately the kitchen just isn’t on point and sinks the experience. The room is charming despite numerous unnecessary TVs which feel out of place in this elevated spot off the lobby of the new Hotel Zachary. The host was less than friendly, but our server was fantastic and attentive. He and our cocktails were the highlights of the night, particularly the Old Mills. Their $16 burger (ordered medium rare) arrived well done and flavorless, accompanied by a strange black garlic aioli that lacked skill and tasted more like bad diner gravy. The $22 fish and chips came with a single small piece of over cooked cod in a bland, thick, chewy coating that required a steak knife to cut through. At least the accompanying fries and sauce gribiche were very good. Total bill for two drinks and two mediocre entrees (no appetizers, no coffee or dessert) came to an overpriced $98 with tip. Definitely a disappointment.

Right across from Wrigley so easy to get to a Cubs game. Food was ok. We sat outside and there is a bar that shares an open wall with the restaurant. Super loud.... could not even carry on a conversation. It’s not unlike other Wriglelyville food establishments on game day.

I felt like I was in the middle of the door way where we were seated and the noise level was so bad I could not carry on a conversation with my dinner guest. It took forever to get our food drinks and check and it wasn’t that busy.

They pulled a bait/switch on my drink order. I asked for a club soda from the fountain and they charged me $4 a tiny bottle for some sparkling water, without telling me. So I end up with almost a $20 bill for what should have been an unlimited refill drink. They refused to change the bill.

Mordecai is one of my new favorite places. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the food is quite a few steps above the ordinary. My ONLY complaint is the noise level before a Cubs game. I'm a huge baseball fan, but this isn't a frat bar. If you want to hang with your bros, please go somewhere less intimate.

Service was attentive and the food was delicious. This was our second visit and we will absolutely be coming back when we have more family in town.

I asked for a quiet table but soon learned there was no such thing at your restaurant Saturday night with the doors/windows open and Fall Out Boy blasting from Wrigley Field across the street. Our get-together with friends was ruined. We could not even hear the person sitting next to us. Also, while the food was good, the menu was very limited.
