We typically love it here. However this evening it was
Chef Scott Conant’s seasonal dinners are always a hit. He continues to impress with each dinner!!! We work hard to not miss any of them.
The volume was definitely high. The tables in the restaurant were full so volume is bound to be high. Great food, great wine selection and friendly staff. Tomato Fizz cocktail is delicious- tomato infused gin drink but tastes crisp and refreshing
Food was great, disappointed in the wines. For my pallet some of the wines were mismatched.
I love this place!! It's not authentic Italian (but neither am I), but it's fairly close. The staff is friendly and they really want to make you happy with your food experience. The food is very, very good to me--my chef is Matt!! He and Scott can cook for me anytime, anywhere, anyhow.
Have already told my "Italian" friend she has to go! We will be back!
Everything was wonderful. Atmosphere, food, service! You will not be disappointed!
We are regulars and cannot say enough about the service!
We love everything about this restaurant and consider it our special night out place. The food and service are both outstanding, and the restaurant itself is a pleasure to be in, beautifully appointed, comfortable, and architecturally interesting. We enjoy getting the tasting menu and spend hours eating and talking while we are served at a perfect pace. Best Italian in Phoenix in my opinion.
I love the restaurant, the food and the friendly staff.
I have to say, though, I was a little disappointed with the overflowing garbage cans in the bathrooms (ladies room and I noticed two of the other vacant bathrooms’ doors were open and garbage was overflowing).
Our waiter was attentive and helpful, however I didn’t really need to know so much about his poker playing or ability to drink others under the table.
I will come back whenever in town!
We were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and was very pleased with our service. The food was outstanding starting with the heirloom tomato salad and ending with the Mora Sundae which was "on the house"! Our server Kim was very personable and attentive. Can't wait to go back!
Hostess needs to smile when greeting clients. Waiter I had was very dry and very nice after speaking with him but did not greet our table with a smile or a "hello" or "welcome in" or even "good evening". Seemed like people working here were either in a bad mood or pretentious. Food was good but there were very small portions and it was overpriced. I had the fried calamari and shrimp appetizer. Some of the pieces of seafood were so small that I thought they were broken pieces of batter. I had the clam pasta and I can't recall a single clam in my bowl. There was maybe a handful of pasta total and it was $24. You can get a great fresh pasta meal, double the portion, at North for $20. Beautiful restaurant. I live nearby but won't be going back anytime soon.
Amazing atmosphere, great service and good!
Celebrated my spouse's birthday here. The food, atmosphere and service was outstanding. Highly recommend and will return.
Overall, this place is just ok. The bread we ordered was pretty good, but not as fresh as would have been nice. The octopus appetizer was good, or so I was told. I’m not a fan. The pasta pomodoro was under seasoned and 30 seconds from a perfect al dente. The lamb loin was tasty just not for the cost. Ultimately, dinner for three was $140 and not wonderful. We didn’t order alcohol and only one scoop of gelato for dessert.
Dinner at MORA was incredible. Every dish was unique and delicious. Service was spectacular. It was a special occasion and we were treated as such and more. I thank everyone there for the above and beyond treatment, I suspected that is just how it is done at such a great restaurant.
Wonderful fresh pasta and great lamb loin. Pomodoro and Scott Conant’s special appetizer bread were my favorites.
Delicious dinner with excellent service!
Food was amazing, service was good, wine list was incredible.
Eat the summer squash, the burratta, the lobster gnudi, the lamb, and the Carmel budino.
EAT THE CARMEL BUDINO. I can’t say it enough. It was stellar.
Excellent food. The heirloom tomato salad is fabulous and we both enjoyed our pasta dishes. There was enough for a second meal the following night.
Disappointed this visit. I ordered the fettuccine w/ mushrooms and my husband ordered the pork chop. The pasta was delicious but so MANY mushrooms. It was really mushrooms w pasta not the other way around. You really have to be a mushroom fan and I left quite a bit of those goodies on my plate. The pork chop was wonderful. I seem to remember it served previously with potato and now it is served with a bean salad. Very tart.. missed the potatoes. We will go back and try more items as our first visit was wonderful but there were some misses for us this time.
The food and service were excellent! Our server Juan was amazing!
This is our 2nd time here in less than a week. It was BOMB again. Sat at the bar this time and had dinner. I will say the service at the bar could use a little work......it was practically empty and the female bartenders were too busy talking to each other to check in on us. I don’t like having to flag someone down to refill my water glass that has been empty for 5 minutes. Back to the dining room with Kim we go!
I so appreciate the high level of service and sophistication of the wait staff. Thank you Mora team for training to the level you do ... and for hiring the pros you seem to find. “Exquisite” would describe the experience — the staff is such a complement to the chemistry happening in the kitchen. If you’ve never been — it’s time to WOW your friends!
It was a 50th Anniversary for my husband and I, however he passed away on May 7th, 2019. My family and I had promised him we’d still go and celebrate it at Mora. Last year for our 49th we were there and were treated so kindly we knew that’s where we wanted to go this year. The courtesy extended to us this time was just as wonderful and was made very special! Thank you to all of the Mora staff and to Scott for this jewel of a restaurant ❤️
Best birthday dinner! We had the five course tasting menu and everything was absolutely delicious!
My family and I celebrated my Mother’s birthday and were extremely excited and pleased with our visit. All staff were kind and wished my Mother a Happy Birthday upon entrance. We all partook in the sampling meal and we’re not disappointed one bit! Every dish was show-stopping and delicious! Our serves was extremely professional and courteous which made the evening even more memorable. Can’t wait to visit again!
Mike was a great waiter and it was a pleasure meeting Chef Scott!
Absolutely AMAZING! Start to finish, food, drinks, and service from Kim! Can’t wait to go back!
Our server was phenomenal. I don’t remember his name and I feel bad about that. We had a young toddler with us and asked for a few slices of oranges. They cut up a whole bowl of oranges and gave them to us. They also gave us some pizza dough for him to play with. We were so happy with the service that we received.
The question of recommending Mora to a friend is easy-all of my friends enjoy conversation and catching up. Conversation here was nearly impossible. I could not hear my dinner companion across a small table. As is expected, everyone was talking louder in order to be heard. The noise ruined what would have been a lovely evening. The wine list is very nice, the service was excellent (when we could hear ehat the server was saying), and the food was great. The grilled octopus was exceptional.
Sadly, I won't be returning. Just way too loud to be worth the effort.
During a recent trip to Phoenix, we had multiple meals that were very good. Our dinner at Mora Italian outshined them all. Beginning with cocktails and charcuterie at the bar, continuing on to wine, shared small plates and pasta for dinner, every morsel and sip was out of this world. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. I cannot wait to return!
Great ambiance, food exceptional— one of the best Italian restaurants in Phoenix
Octopus was marvelous we really enjoyed it. Brussel sprouts were delicious and different from other tasks on them. I had the Lobster Gnudi with gunciale. The gnudi was soft like pillows and delicious. My companion had the Black Campanella the pasta was a little rubbery had a nice Al Dente chew but the dish was lacking sauce and no clams in shells. Will definitely go back I hope maybe we just got one dish not up to the rest of the meal. Love the service and ambiance.
Dusty was awesome! Food was amazing as always!
This is the third time we have been here in three weeks. We are enjoying sharing it with our foodie friends. this time one of our party had a food restriction and they were wonderful about suggesting menu items that would work for her. We will be back
My husband, mother-in-law, my daughter and I went to Mora on a whim after a bad day to try to cheer my husband up. We’ve been before a few times, and it’s always great. But tonight the service, which is typically top notch, was rude and brusque. We did bring a baby, but she was quiet and well behaved as per usual. When I ordered a pizza, the server curtly said “You know we’re known for our pasta, right?” Mora’s pasta is indeed excellent, but I wanted to try something different. I guess I did get something new: a condescending lecture about the menu. My mother-in-law got similar shade when she ordered the octopus. Apparently only people who order $30 entrees are worthy of proper service. We had planned on ordering more, including more antipasti and dessert, but after such terrible service, we decided to pack up early and head elsewhere. This was a special occasion place for us, but sadly, I don’t think we’ll be returning for quite a while.
Loved our dining experience. Highly recommended. It did not disappoint.
Fantastic food, wonderful service. One of our favorite places for creative, interesting, locally sourced and fabulous food. The SeaCat tomatoes are out of this world!
Thanks for another excellent meal.
