Very pleasant experience. Excellent food and ambiance. Very good service.
Must haves - the brussel sprout and kale salad, basil chicken and the geisha roll. Amazing. Nice atmosphere. Host was not great (sat us at a table for 4 with 2 chairs...we grabbed a couple ourselves) but our waiter was fantastic. Also nice to sit at the bar and try one of the fun and delicious cocktails.
Brussels sprouts and kale salad was great! Honey shrimp good, lumpia meh. We had two rolls, one good, the other not worth eating (mushy and warm.) Drinks not great. Nice live saxophone playing, but it was SO LOUD in a mostly empty restaurant.
Won't be back
Fantastic food and drink, superb bar staff. Arguably the rudest, and seemingly out of depth Host I've encountered in all my travels.
Long wait time and mediocre food. Really good cocktails and the honey walnut shrimp was great.
I’ll start with...the food is very good. Only one miss and that was the eggplant. Half of it was raw thus inedible. All other 7-8 items we ordered were honestly exceptional. My big problem was the lack of service. We waited for 15 minutes to be approached, then drinks never came without us flagging the server down and asking for them. Repeatedly. The room is terribly lit. It’s way too bright and the track heads are aimed at seated positions. The bar is over lit. The feature wall needs paint. It looks like it’s finished in a primer. Easy fixes. If it were my restaurant I’d have that sorted out on day 1. I’ll definitely order delivery or take-away. Food is really tasty.
Went on VDay. We have been 6 or 7 times, and the food was very good as always. Our server was excellent once she was assigned to us. Restaurant was not prepared for how busy the night was--arrived at 6:55 for a 7:00. A couple of tables were available. But the host was handling a dissatisfied pick up customer (sushi was not ready, and he was running back and forth to kitchen); a dissatisfied customer over the phone who already had picked up and then discovered that the order was incorrectly filled; clean-up of tables; phone calls. They just were under-staffed. We were seated at 7:25. Wife finally waived down a server for us at 7:45. From then on smooth sailing, because the drinks (secret agent!) and food (esp noodles pancit, lemongrass beef, green beans, sushi) were very good, and our server was a delight. We look forward to our next visit, just maybe not on a holiday.
Not just our table, everyone’s food was taking excessively long. Food was tasty but the service and organization was made for as less than enjoyable experience.
Server was not very attentive
Our experience at Mora was fantastic. The service, food and ambiance were exactly what we were looking for.
The food is great! I love the crispy maki rolls. The cocktail was good also. The service and the staff are also friendly and helpful!
We had a great time dining at Mora. The food was delicious and the cocktails were on point. The miso soup was very flavorful, the honey shrimp slaw were wonderful. The rolls were fantastic and portions were good. We will definitely be going back!!
The lunch crowd at Mora on this day was light so our table of seven could have conversation without having to yell. The food was excellent although it was served individually as the food was prepared. But that wasn’t an issue since we were there to just hang before one of the couples returned to their home. The pork adobo fried rice with egg was reminiscent of your typical filipino breakfast and was very tasty. The eggrolls were a hit with the whole table. The pancit tasted very fresh and the sausage in the pancit was a nice balance for the dish. The pork and raw tuna rollups were fantastic as was the pork belly adobo. All in all, a very excellent experience and we will all return again very soon.
My second time at Mora for dinner. Would definitely recommend. Great Food! Excellent Service
Mora Asian Kitchen has a very relaxing ambience and is a wonderful place for a nice lunch. I had the sushi special and both of the rolls were very flavorful and made perfectly. My waiter was fabulous!
This restaurant used to be one of our favorites but it has declined in food quality and service. The waitstaff is not stellar - we had to ask for a lot of things that should have been done automatically - i.e. giving wet wipes when you eat the Korean wings. The waiter dropped a lumpia from the platter as he was serving us and didn't apologize or offer to bring a replacement order. The pork belly was over charred and tasted burnt.
Excellent food, attractive dining and bar area! Great servers! Can’t wait to go back!
Don't like the 3.9% fee added before they ask if you are charging or paying cash. 4/5 dishes were excellent.
The food was great! From the Brussels sprouts to the Basil Chicken, it was all delicious. This was my first time at MORA and had a nice experience. However, one of your speakers was on the fritz and was making shrill and high pitched noise intermittently.
The happy hour deal is nice and would be great if it extended into the restaurant as well. The credit card fee charge seems unnecessary, as most people don’t carry that much cash on them. Overall, great food and service, and the decor is nice. The band was a bit loud but added to the atmosphere
The food here is so fresh and creative. They offer new and creative drinks has well. The host and hostess are already nice and informative. My fav is the kale and Brussel sprout salad.
We came primarily for the music, Ray Silkman. The food and drinks were a plus that made for a wonderful evening with three wonderful ladies.
Bartender was really nice and made great suggestions. Food was good
Awful service. Food was mostly good.
It’s a beautiful place with delicious creative food.
Great ambiance, nice energy, progressive menu, fresh food.
I live the creative dishes here. The service is the best, everyone is pleasant here. They accommodate various diet restrictions. Live this little gem in oak park
Amazing ambiance and food. Waiter made me feel a little rushed. Enjoyed the live music very much. Would definitely recommend
We Love it here!! Its such a cool place to have dinner and the Friday nite jazz is wonderful.
Everything was AMAZING and so fresh! I’m surprised the place wasn’t packed on a Thursday night. We tried a variety of everything, but my faves were the Brussel sprout salad and the fried rice - flavors were on point! Our server was just as AMAZING. Will definitely be returning soon!
I went for a late lunch and was pretty much the only one there so it was very quiet and relaxing. The atmosphere was inviting; I'd like to return in the evening when it's dark outside and there are more customers to see how it feels then. The Crunchy Brussels Sprout & Kale Salad was fabulous, as was my drink, iced Cherry Tree Green Tea. The Hamachi nigiri was just okay. My waitress, Liz, was super nice and very helpful. I'll be returning for another meal in the near future.
Everything that could go wrong went wrong - and the place was empty. We were given regular soy sauce instead of gf soy sauce for my daughter with celiac disease. We were given 4 salmon/avocado rolls instead of the tuna/avocado rolls we ordered. We ordered 4 mocktails for the kids but were given 5 and charged for the extra. My husband’s sake came out after the check at the end of the meal. I could go on and on. I emailed the restaurant the next morning and never received a reply.
I was underwhelmed by our experience. We arrived around 7pm and the place was dead on a Saturday night! I was surprised because the place looked really cool and the ambiance was great. The server was clearly new and struggled a bit during our meal when we had a couple questions but everything was still okay.
When we got the food this was the part that was incredibly underwhelming. The food looked really nice and was plated well but the flavors didn’t work together. Everyone in the party didn’t really enjoy the meal but kept eating because we had ordered it.
We were hoping to find a good sushi place in oak park but were disappointed by the experience here. Can’t say I would go back again.
The atmosphere was great! The restaurant itself is beautiful. I love the rustic feel.
We went to dinner early about 6:15 on a Wednesday. Wasn’t crowded at all.
The garlic fried rice is good but you really couldn’t taste the garlic.
The shrimp dish with the aioli was the best dish of the night. The sushi was fair nothing to write home about.
Wanted coffee with dessert after the meal. They didn’t have coffee so we skipped the dessert. Overall I wouldn’t go back. The service was OK, food ok and way too expensive.
I met a friend to try out Mora Asian Kitchen for dinner. I had driven by, but hadn't been inside. Dinner was fantastic! We had the adobe fried rice, green beans, sushi special of the day (crab, salmon, lemon deliciousness), and a fantastic yuzu cheesecake. All dishes were really fantastic - well seasoned and good sized portions for sharing. Our server was also very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. We'll definitely be back!
Great food & lovely atmosphere!
Service was a little slow however the food was "amazing".
Enjoyed an early Sunday dinner at Mora with my niece. Loved our cocktails (Zodiac for her and Forbidden City for me) and Shanking Beef Salad for starters. The Orange Chicken skewers were tasty but just a tad overcooked and chewy. Our server, Liz, was great and her recommendations were right on point. The Samurai Roll that she suggested was outstanding.
We finished with a delightful strawberry and mango mochi.
Liz was attentive and very helpful with making menu selections.
Can't wait to go back to try more of their signature sushi rolls.
We sat at one of the two tables in the middle of the dining area that had backless stools; avoid those if possible, not comfortable after an hour of sitting and dining. Also really surprised at the “non-cash adjustment” - why not build that credit card service charge into the menu prices? Who really pays with cash at restaurants these days, especially at a restaurant with $15-20 average entrees?
The food was great, music played in the background was a great, and you can tell that the entire staff is giving their all. This is a great addition to Oak Park and adds something fresh and different!
