Mooo Ratings and Reviews
The best steak, really, my husband and I have EVER had! The waiter was outstanding. The ambiance is gorgeous. My husband felt like a king in his huge tall chair at the table haha! The rolls were melt in your mouth out of this world. Everything was just outstanding!! The marmallows were such a surprising treat and delicious. Thank you for making our 3 year anniversary a memorable experience!
Have to says 'Mixed" about my visit to this restaurant. The table service and food were outstanding. The kitchen cooked the meat perfectly, and everything arrived on time so we could enjoy the complementary dishes together. Our waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable, and he also stayed in the background until he needed him. Then voila!
The wine list was okay, a bit out of a balance in some varietals (pricing in the Syrahs comes to mind), and I would like to have seen some older vintage, especially in the Cabernets. The wine steward was very pleasant, although somewhat hurried. For dessert, my glass of Banyuls was served much too cold, but that's an afterthought.
However, the thing that really displeased me was the front of the house. We arrived for a Friday table within a few minutes of the reservation and then waited 35 minutes more until they seated us. We were told to relax in the bar, but there seemed to be more people in the bar than in the restaurant. There was no place to stand, no place to sit, and the bartenders (2) ignored us completely. It made me feel both helpless and foolish, not relaxed as we anticipated our meal.
Would I recommend it? With caveats.
My first night in Boston I was very excited to try Moo for dinner. I cannot even believe what a huge disappointment my dining experience was. The waiter felt he was doing us a favor waiting on us. I asked for a wine recommendation, I requested a wine that wasn't very sweet. The waiter pushed the more expensive bottle. I felt like I was drinking liquid sugar. I requested my steak well it was bleeding all over the dish. I enjoyed nothing about my experience. This was the most expensive dinner I had in Boston. It tasted like the cheapest dinner.
excellent salad and sirloin steak perfect ONLY ONE COMPLAINT very odd they serve ONLY soft sticky buns parker house type rolls
most good chefs are proud to serve a nice selection of on site bread
NOT at MOOO we go there a few times a year when in boston next time we will bring our own bread
they are very stubborn
We ate here on a Sunday night. It's very accessible from the subway which was a plus. We arrived 10 minutes early and were asked to wait at the bar until our reservation time. Once we were seated, our beverage order was promptly taken and delivered, but a lot of time went by before our meal order was taken. I ordered the filet medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered one of the strip steaks from the menu and it looked good (all he would say was it was ok). We ordered mashed potatoes and succotash as our two sides. The mashed potatoes were very rich. The succotash had a weird seasoning in it (maybe nutmeg?) that made it taste like it was canned corn. The best part of our meal was the Parker House rolls and the chocolate covered marshmallow treat that came at the end of the meal. Everything in between was good... but that's it....just good. I could order this same meal a hundred other places. There are so many great restaurants to choose from in Boston making it unlikely we will come back to this one.
No room at the bar, everyone without a reservation was seated and eating their complete 3 course dinner while we were forced to stand. We do not lean against a pillar holding a $15 martini awaiting an open table
Mgt did not seem to care, so we enjoyed our coctail at the table for an additional 1/2 hr
Dinner service and food were 5*
Wines r excellent
Went there for my fiance's birthday this year and we loved everything, as per usual. This is our go-to special occasion restaurant because the service is impeccable, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is inviting. I already recommended it to a friend for her special occasion and she really enjoyed it.
Have always had a great experience here except for this time around. Daniel and Norman (Im not sure if thats his real name since when I asked him for it he gave me two different names) made it such a horrible time for us. They served a table, that sat down after us, before we were served. Forgot drink orders. Overall, awful experience. They never checked on our table to see if food were to our liking, nothing. Just completely ignored us. I was very saddened and appalled by the treatment we received. Wont be recommending this place. If you stay at 15 Beacon, its better to just walk down to Charles St for a bite.
This restaurant was exactly what we had hoped for! The food was awesome. The atmosphere was perfect. The wait staff was incredibly attentive. I had called ahead and told them that it was our 4th anniversary. They personalized our menus with "Happy Anniversary" which we were able to take home. We ordered the 6oz. Wagyu Beef. It was incredible. The rolls were absolutely unbelievable. I know..rolls?? Really?? Yes! They were other-worldly.
The most expensive meal we have ever had and worth every cent. I can't recommend Mooo... enough.
Great experience. Visiting Boston and looked for places off the usual tourist routes. Found Mooo on a best of Boston website. Loved everything about mooo. We came for Sunday brunch and they had an acoustic duo playing. It was the right noise level and fit perfect with the setting. The wait staff was very attentive throughout our meal. They brought 2 banana muffins to start our meal that were great. We ordered oysters as an appetizer and they were fresh, plump and flavorful. We also shared the blueberry beignets and they are a must try. Very tasty. We shared the shrimp cocktail and beef waygu dumplings - both were fantastic. Highly recommend! Great restaurant with a great staff in a very good location
This was by far the best and most expensive meal I've ever had. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the corn succotash was outstanding and the little touches they did to make this meal special were amazing. This was my first anniversary and they printed special menus that said happy anniversary and put it on the dessert plates which were just as delicious as the entrées. Although expensive it was well worth the cost.
